The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

No one wants to offer any ideas on what I can do with her? On what's going on?

*sigh*

Doc's contention was that she'd outgrow it. This doesn't look like she's going to outgrow it.

Yes... time for some new soil?? I had that claw 2 runs in a row in my no-tills.... (yes I was amending), dumped the soil, started over... problem solved.

Run these out .. you will still have a harvest, my buds were pretty good but low yeild even tho the fans were like yours. Tired soil.. do compost teas with some malted barley mixed it that helped me... at the end of the day new soil fixed everything.

Thank you BB. This is where my brain kept going over the last 24 hours. I have problems in both soils and it's time to start over in both cases. I've been running the LOS for over two years now and something happened to the HB soil. After I get the rest of the soils potted up I'll start new batches for the next runs.

I've been putting it off because the peat moss has been sitting on the balcony long enough I'll have to sterilize it or I'll be bringing thrips into the garden, I just know it. I'll be potting up the last of the soils on Wednesday. I'll start the renewal process then. By the next round it'll all be first run.

I seem to prefer planting on Sunday. I'll be ordering 5-gallon Geo Pots for this tent. I'm of the opinion, at long last, that five gallons is sufficient for autos.

Yup, that's where we've settled into as well. I may one day try a 7 gallon, but the 5's have been great for us.

Sunday also tends to be a favorite of mine. For me that might be because it's football season, and I'm not as big a fan as Jaybiz is, so I tend to do my chores then.

Train Wreck (Day 12) Can you feel the energy of a child getting ready to take off? Yep, so do I. Lol!

This is arteekay's last post of their latest Train Wreck, at Day 60. This is what I'm chasing. Imagine my frustration. Lol!

Now imagine my pride in the excellent work my friends are pulling off in their garden. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Awww!! :bigblush: :dreamy: :adore: :dreamy: :bigblush:

I feel a little like the teacher just made the whole class look at my arts project. It's a true honor SS. :yahoo:

:thanks:

Sue, what do you do to renew your soil? I do not like to toss out expensive, store bought soil, esp that which I have amended with more expensive additives.

Morning AKgramma. Haven't been by your place this week it seems. Whew! Where does the time go? This is worse than the way life speeds up when you have grandchildren. Letting the grow explode to more than twice the number of plants in a month's time and adding in yet another growing method may have been a little nuts on my part. :laughtwo:

I haven't yet replaced soil. I have a number of large planters on my balcony I'll likely use that soil for. Then maybe next spring, if I'm still living here, I'll do some outdoor gardening and make some fresh groceries. When I relocate all this leftover soil's gonna be a challenge.

Hey Sue, hope your well today,....top of the day to everyone, bin away for a lil while. Sue , how is she doing....bring me up to speed would ya. I see her leaves are still curled , but still have good color...is this correct? Is she still drinking lots ? Later woman...:Namaste:

Let me start with you Duggan. I hope you're feeling improved. Keep that feeling of health and wholeness pumping away in your awareness. You'll get there. :hugs:

She and I have a pact, I'll continue to love her unconditionally and she'll continue to produce lovely flowers despite the leaf challenge. :battingeyelashes: I'll be starting with new soil as soon as the budget affords.

To be honest, I'm having a love affair with this plant. :laughtwo: I mean, look at her.

Daily Update: Carnival #2, Day 102 (Flip + 22)

She still puts out a positive energy. She feels relieved to be flowering. :laughtwo: This makes me very happy. Lol!

I need to compare shots from a couple days back tomorrow and make a determination about the timing of the CATs. I can feel she's not ready yet.

IMG_099636.JPG

Awlfully bushy under here, don't you think?

IMG_099931.JPG

She's really massive! The colas are 12" - 14" long, from the lowest point, where I stopped stripping.

IMG_100140.JPG

Im looking at these little side branches that make up the lower tier. I don't want to eliminate them. Popcorn can be a nice bonus, and this time I wanted to try letting it go.

I want to leave the tips on, down to about that point you see lit up by the flower tip.

IMG_100343.JPG

But I don't think I need be concerned about all the small stuff growing at the stem. That part I'll clean up either today or tomorrow.

keltic, here are those shots you asked for. My pleasure. :hugs:

I'm feeling like taking today off and just staying high. Well, I have laundry in the works. I'm helping the daughter out with laundry duty so she can help with a move. Fluid family involvement. Our mode of joyful expression. My joy today will be tied to offering my daughter clean laundry she didn't have to do anything to attain other than be my daughter.

I like watching the the smile on her face when she finds it all done. I do it for that feeling. Selfish, I know, but I'm ok with it. :battingeyelashes:

Get out there and find your own reason to have that secure and satisfying feeling of loving and being loved.

:Namaste:

Journal is finished. My last entry. Feels weird. Now I am just going to creep around the mag for a few months. Thank you for your awesome support during my 11 months here on the mag. Member of the year for sure.

:hugs::hugs::hugs:

:hugs::hugs::hugs:

What a bittersweet moment, eh? I've not been able to successfully shut down for very long, even with increased risk. It got into my blood in the worst way. :laughtwo: I openly admit that for me growing and journaling about the grow is much more "addictive" than smoking this fabulous end product.

I'll drop by and leave a congratulatory note to help you close out. We'll all be anxiously awaiting your new start-up. Stock up on sunscreen while you wait. Lol!

I KNOW you don't replace soil. I don't, either. You MUST renew it somehow, or it would have no nutrients left for the next grow. The operative word here is "renew". Do you soak it with diluted nutes and let it sit, or what? I have about 10 gallons of used soil that I need to renew/revitalize.

I took this picture to use at the top of the Carnival update. Then I stopped and looked at it. That's a lot of blue in that picture, wouldn't you say? Then I glanced up into the mirror and realized that the shirt I was wearing was gray with large blue lettering and the underwear and bra I'd chosen were also blue.

It suddenly occurred to me that the song running through my head was Keith Urban's "Blue Ain't Your Color."

I need a hit of something purple. :laughtwo:

I started with the Clackamas Coot-style soil, using the mineral and amendment kit from my favorite soil building site and since then all I've added has been the regular coconut/aloe drenches and the sprouted seed drenches. Those drenches include potassium silicate, fulvic acid and micronutrients from the addition of things like neem, alfalfa, kelp meal and the occasional top dressing of vermicompost.

I plant and harvest without disturbing the soil more than it takes to create the hole for the seed.

That's really all I need to do to maintain these plots of soil and it's why I'm so hesitant to let them go. Once you plant a no-till you can run it for numerous cycles with a simple EWC topdressing once or twice per cycle and use water only. Clackamas Coot is my soil hero.

Sue , she is coming along, with the CD,...some do it early , some as per instructions , and some do it late. I've tried all three and no matter which way , the "end" product is still fantastic . I think with her i would.....give it now. You will no doubt have time to give her another "series' of CD's. much later on near the finish , then get right back to GE until the end. Have you been giving any Way Ax10 with the Brix sprays and has she gotten the "top dress" with EWC and REcharge yet? Cheers Sue and have a great night.:circle-of-love:

My soil will be ready to go on Wednesday, so at that time I'll give her a second, smaller Recharge with a little more EWC and the soil I didn't have last week. I'm thinking her next drench should be the CAT. You're in agreement then?

I have the Way Ahead. I'll be using it with every Brix from here on out. Doc said no foliars for 10 days. We're almost to that point.

More loving and healing thoughts.... :hugs::hugs::hugs:
