The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Wow SS! Nice diagnosis and nice recovery. I'm completely impressed. You even gave us a little side tutorial in PH'ing.

I differ a touch from Hab's opinion. I see it as a simple burn. The leaf curling is a textbook symptom. Your color looks mighty dark with very little light green new growth. You had just jumped up to 100%.
You caught it very early cause you're some kinda garden-hawk freak... but that's another story. It really does make a huge difference if you catch it early. It's super easy to flush and correct the issue. You did a great job.

Yup... impressed.

Gosh Tead, I actually blushed. *giggle*. You guys teach well, and I do my best to show you every now and again that I've really been paying attention. :laughtwo:

Thank you. That means a lot coming from you.

Hab, what you can't see from the pictures I posted is the burn marks on the leaves that curled. Now I know to watch for it. I noticed this first thing yesterday, but it didn't register until today. It's good to know I have instincts to fall back on.

At 1:05 AM I heard the call for help from the bathroom.

I whipped up some TransWater and gave her a thorough drench. Here she is at 1:38 AM.

And an hour after I found her, at 2:05.

I'll give her a backup drench tomorrow when I do everyone else.

While I was in there I checked on Emerald.

She's doing fine. :battingeyelashes:

Ohioboy can't stop!! Ohioboy With Fast Buds - Let's See How Fast Exactly

:laughtwo: Good morning Ohioboy. Lol!

Did you hear that Hab? :laughtwo:

I run on about 4-5 hours a night and then pass out some afternoon along the line and catch up. Haha! Mr Teddy once commented that they wondered if I'd found a way to increase the number of hours in a day. Haha! I'll grant you, I do run at a higher frequency than the average bear.

She 's looking like I was right about giving her more today. I have to keep her happy in this cup until Wednesday when the soil's done cooking.

Off to walk along the river. Be joyful people. :ciao:

When it comes to the hempy i agree with tead. I would like to add that til they are a little established i would use a mix of 2ml flora micro, 1ml flora grow then 1ml flora bloom. Now when it comes to the lucas formula i have tried it in the past, i personally couldn't get it to work and have entertained the idea of trying it again, anyways to the point i wanted to address from what i recall from the research i did was that if your using less then 400w you should be using a modified formula which was 5ml micro 10ml bloom. I only know that cause when i researched it i wanted to make sure i could use the formula in my cfl setup and i stumbled across that tidbit. So in summary til the are decently established (1-2 weeks mostly a week though) give a clone/seedling dose such as what i listed above then after that figure out which mix you should use whether thats the 3 part the lucas formula or the modified lucas formula.

I've been thinking about the modified formula for lower light lexort. I'll be flipping them in a week and it may be to my advantage to go with the modified until then. I'll be using the two 300watt MarsHydros for flowering and I can supplement with CFLs for side lighting if necessary to get the increase. Or I could play it smart and just go modified and not worry about it.

This one's my test run. I'll work all this out. I'm enjoying the challenge.

I'll be curious to see how much recovery you can get on Emerald in such a short schedule.

It's not written in stone Tead, although I'm interested myself in seeing what she'd do on such an accelerated schedule. I wasn't anticipating wounding her. I may hold off one more week and give everyone a better chance with more soil under them. My HB soil will be ready to go on Wednesday. It lets them all grow stronger roots. That feels better to me.

Sue, just to toss my two cents in on the hempy. I tend to feed on the light side, and Tead feeds heavy by my standards. Probably somewhere in between is where you want to be...
But- I would be feeding that plant at about 1/3 strength then bumping it up if it looks underfed. I actually haven't been going much past 1/2 strength, ever, with the hempies and DTW plants I've done so far. But I have been feeding the ones in flower with the auto watering system, so they get multiple light feedings per day.
The six hempies I have in veg, all indicas, I'm feeding at 1/2 strength now and they're doing great. They're at their 6th node now. I'll flip to flowering very soon and carry on with 1/2 strength unless they complain.

Weasel can't remember what nutes your using could you remind me?

Thank you Weaselcracker. It's reassuring to have all of you around me. With the Lucas Formula she's already at half strength, unless I bump her down to the modified level. That may be my best approach, in which case I should drop her down to 2.5 ml Micro and 5ml of Bloom.

Does this sound like a rational approach?

Are we looking at the same photos? I was on my old ass iphone not made for an old ass mans eyes. Today I looked at both update photos plus emailed ones in hd on the 80". While I agree it must be nutrient related, there isnt enough N in lucas to make them look N toxic or over lush as per tead let alone burn them. Also leaf curl down or clawing is indeed a classic but we see even dbhb has this affect on carni and very very dark foliage as you say. Up curl is a symptom of a few things so not definitive or absolute Heat stress as example mimics N burn Just saying... N burning is uniform and definitely affects new growth and shows up with in hours of feeding not the next day or days later???? I see the light green on the new growth near what I casually called stems and no tip burn at all! I was corrected to use petioles. P is near impossible to cause toxicity because of ph limitations buffering uptake. K toxicity locks out other elements and is very rare. so we are left with ph fluctuation?

I would agree with weasel aswell you could grow a plant on as little as .6 ec from clone to harvest on a dripper. Much like a bodybuilder who eats 9 times a day in small measures, dtw plants thrive on greater frequency of feed at lower levels . If you do this Don't use lucas as lucas has enough n for the plant but at reduced levels it does not. So revert to using grow for this.

I too think Sue spotted an issue with her plants fast and has made adjustments yet with 5.5 ph I withdraw any advice or claims, guarantees on health, this is beyond my experience and did not realize this was the case.

Grow well .

Sounds good to me. I don't mess up my plants much from underfeeding- there is lots of wiggle room to add more if you want. Not so when I feed too much.
Lexort I'm using Botanicare stuff- PBP bloom and grow.

Whoa Hab! You lost me there. Too much, too fast. I've been out all day and just came across this. Take a breath and let me read. I'll track you down and we can talk.
