The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

I was eating and I thought you might lol . :circle-of-love:

I've been so lost in searches and posting that I completely forgot about eating. One of the problems with making coffee at 9 PM. :laughtwo: Geez, it's already 2. A little late for a meal. A little late for a snack. I'm not tired at all now. Lol!

Alright. I just need to put this out there as a question for all of you.

I just read an article that says legalization in CA will mean smuggling weed into Mexico from CA do to it's higher potency. According to the article, 2% THC in Mexican and 30%+ in cannabis from CA. They worry about the side effects of the high power high on people not used to it. They warned that people would hallucinate. :peace:

Omg we are going to be invaded by hordes of hungry hallucinating Mexicans!!!!!
Well, you guys are...
Or were you already?
Anyway...
Spooooky.

Bonsai Mothers

It also includes an excellent tutorial on cloning. Of course, I'll forever after use TOAST's simple technique with the plastic produce bags, but there's still much to be learned from the tutorial.

You're welcome. :hugs:

It's funny you shared this post as i have been looking up bonsai stuff and i actually ran across this link and saw it was copy and pasted on other sites lol

Your taco stand among the hordes of hallucinating stoners! That's going to be such an awesome situation! Too many awesome possibilities to even begin talking about here!
Or is that just a regular taco stand? :hmmmm:

Daily Update: Carnival #2, Day 97

Alright, let's start with Carnival.

She's passed, but she's also doing the job she's intended for, so she can throw her little fit. I'll bet it ends up giving me more frostiness. :laughtwo:

Ready for inspection Duggan. :hugs:

On to the hempy.

What is Lucas Formula, and how do I use it?

The Lucas Formula (sometimes referred to as the Lucas Ratio) postulates that anyone using the General Hydroponics Advanced Nutrient System can remove FloraGro from the formula, mix the remaining components at a 2:1 ratio, Bloom:Micro at a volume of 8 ml Micro (always mixed first and let to sit momentarily) and 16ml Bloom to a gallon of RO water. This formulation gives the plant just the balance of nutrients necessary for healthy and happy cannabis. One formula for the entire lifespan of the plant.

There is a caution that seedlings and cuttings may not have the energy to use the full-strength mix, so one can dilute it to a softer touch, say a 50% mix of 4ml:8ml and work your way up gently from there. In our conversation last night Hab assured me Emerald could handle full-strength, with the compensation of seeds if she gets burned. I gave her full-strength.

I'll hold you to that Hab. :battingeyelashes:

Because I use tap water I'll be following the advice to PH correct my mix to around 5.8. That wasn't difficult to do at all. I'll be checking the PH of the mix over the next couple days to see if correcting it was even necessary. It may be that all I need to do is mix it up the day before and let it sit.

I also use blackstrap molasses to neutralize the chloramines in our tap water. BSM will supply the necessary calcium and magnesium. I simply added a little more than normal. If necessary, this can be increased.

There was also an alert about light levels. Apparently if one has lights below 400w there's a need to adjust the nutrient levels. A copy and paste from the Lucas Formula site:

Note on 400w HPS and lower power lighting: You may find that your plants don’t have quite enough light to grow properly in a full strength solution. Start with 0-5-10. Increase to 0-6-12 if your pH steadily rises and goes above 6.1. Keep adjusting the strength until your pH swings between 5.2 and 6.1 without going past those points. Make sure you write everything down so that once you figure out what your plants like for your situation you can mix that strength to start with the next time.
Just remember that if your pH goes up out of range over time and doesn’t come back down, you’re not feeding enough. If your pH slowly goes down and down below 5.1, you’re feeding them too much. (This is of course assuming that everything else in the garden is good

I may be able to get around this with my penchant for getting the light right on top of the plants. At least with the CFLs. I've had great success flowering under CFLs. My plan was to break out the MarsHydro panels for the flowering of the clones. With the Advanced panel blinking again I'll probably need to change those plans.

At this point I'm considering throwing the clones into the tent under the MarsHydro panels and put the pots I have in the auto tent on the shelf in the bathroom. It's a worthy consideration.

Enough talk. On to the pictorial documentation. :battingeyelashes:

Gathering the supplies.

8ml of FloraMicro

IMG_069143.JPG

16ml of FloraBloom. I'd already added the initial 10ml that preceeded this 6ml.

IMG_069245.JPG

IMG_069336.JPG

She got a good flush with some ph-corrected water I had on hand and then gently watered with the nutrient mix. This is rediculously easy to do, and if it performs like I suspect it will I'm gonna be one very happy camper.

IMG_069537.JPG

Back under lights, but this time in with the rest of the Carnival family. She'll stay in here and get flipped with everyone else in about a week. Then the fun begins in ernest. :slide:

IMG_069645.JPG

Thank you Hab. :hugs: I haven't had this much fun in quite a while. :laughtwo: Got the blood really pumping! I sure am glad you stepped out and made that connection. :kisstwo:

Next up the clone shelf, but first, today's the last day of the month and that means I need to mop the stairwells. Responsibility calls. I'll be back in a few hours. That chore'll require some medication time for sure.

:Namaste:

those photos look like 16 micro and 8 bloom? Trick of the eyes

I like that you looked it all up great tutorial reps

Gee I hope this work or the shame will be crippling hahaha . :blunt: we will know in an hour ish

:green_heart:

There was an additional 10ml of Bloom. I'll edit the post to reflect that. Thank you for pointing that out. :kisstwo:

:bravo::circle-of-love::cheertwo:, miss Sue if i may, wanted to ask if you ever experienced with microhizae, and benneficial bacteria in both soil and hydro plants?
Well i ask that because i have been using it since reading cultivators journals, and it has been working wonders for my garden, and i do a bit of all got some soil cooking most of my plants are in coco perlite mix, and got a royal critical auto in DWC,... Loving your garden by the way you make me wanna go order some dds myself looks amazing i love pirple flowers. Anyways let me stop mumbling and wish you all the best of health and a green /purple frosty garden.

Welcome Ketama, yes I use myco in all my soil, when doing any transplanting. I recall reading somewhere a gardener saying he'd coat his seeds with mycorrhizae if it were possible and I thought "Well, for me it is!" and so I've been doing that with seeds for quite some time now as well. I haven't yet grown anything in coco, and this is my second venture into hempy waters. I'm not sure the myco would be able to adapt to perlite.

Anyone out there have an answer to this one?

They take a few months to get firmly established in a pot, but once there I try to leave them undisturbed. No-till also appeals to my lazy nature. :battingeyelashes: I'm pleased to hear you benefit from these wonders of evolution too.

Oooo....... Do treat yourself to the DDA. So worth the investment. Even the runts that occasionally pop up are entrancing enough you don't mind them. :laughtwo: Well, I'll admit they can be annoying, but they look so good while they annoy.

good day Sue, lets keep on track with her and not over think anything OK! Her curling leaves still bother me. How moist is the soil right now Sue...does it feel too wet? Is she drinking lots? Cheers and have a great night

It's lights out now Duggan. I'll check her moisture levels tomorrow morning.

Carnival Clone Care

The adventure started out with the tea I had brewing for the LOS pots showing signs of stress. A cup of the tea added to a couple cups of good water...

IMG_069751.JPG

IMG_069849.JPG

..... carefully applied to the pots. With such a small volume of root space I want to be certain all of it gets the goodness. The larger clones, from Carnival #1, were pretty dry, so they got a good drenching. The smaller clones, from Carnival #2, just got about 1/2 cup each. They're still pretty wet from the transplant.

All snuggled in.

This corner needs more light.

IMG_071651.JPG

Better.

IMG_072038.JPG

I repositioned the reflectors for more even coverage and raised Emerald up a smidgen to get more light.

IMG_072240.JPG

This is more of what it feels like when you get down there to look in. :laughtwo:

IMG_072340.JPG

I'm still considering letting the clones have the tent with the MarsHydro panels, if I have to pull the Advanced panel again. I haven't contacted Advanced about it yet, so let me make no assumptions until I've spoken to them. I'll get that done ASAP. I've a few days to make up my mind. I know I can flower the Train Wreck under CFLs. I have no lack of confidence in my ability to make the CFLs work magic.

I want that hempy girl under the MarsHydro. I didn't load for bear only to find Bambi. We'll get some light over that girl.

Gosh, I love this hobby more and more every day. :laughtwo:

Daily Update: Autos, Monday, October 31, 2016

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!!!

I've been so busy all day I haven't been over at Shiggity's as often as I planned. I'll have to swing by when I'm done here. Only a few hours left to get your votes in on the contests, if you haven't cast your votes yet.

So let's see what the auto girls are up to tonight.

IMG_073040.JPG

IMG_073346.JPG

Train Wreck Auto (Day 10) She looks like she might be ready for her topping in a couple days.

IMG_073139.JPG

IMG_073247.JPG

Early Miss Auto (Day 46) I'm taking her down in the morning. I didn't have her slated to come down for another week, but she's gone cloudy and starting to go amber. We know SweetSue has no use for amber trichomes. First thing in the morning she's history.

IMG_073440.JPG

IMG_073543.JPG

IMG_073635.JPG

That means the Industrial Plant I sprouted to go in the tiny closet needed to go into the pot with Early Miss.

IMG_075443.JPG

I damaged the tip of the taproot getting her planted, but she's dusted up with mycorrhizae and that may save her. She's also got a dusting of Roots! in that hole. We'll send strong thoughts of intention and she'll pop right up overnight. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart: If not I have more seeds.

IMG_075537.JPG

Into the tiny closet and the wonder that is the Dark Devil Auto 4. (Day 69) Look at her bulking up!

IMG_074848.JPG

IMG_074941.JPG

IMG_075039.JPG

IMG_075140.JPG

IMG_075242.JPG

Easily another two weeks to go with her. She looks like a 90 day girl. :woohoo:

That looks like all of them. Wow! My brood has grown! :thedoubletake:

I'll wait another week before I try sprouting a replacement for DDA4. She still has time left. Hopefully I didn't do irreparable damage to the Industrial Plant and she pops up in the next couple days. She's swimming in myco, so that should help her out.

This means I can follow the DDa4 up with a DDA5. :cheesygrinsmiley: Didn't that work out nice? :slide:

Alright people. I have a buzz to get going. I'll be seeing you as I wander through the yards tonight. Oh yes..... I'm assuming you all had days overflowing with joy????? Good. We're getting quite adept at maintaining that joyful presence, aren't we? That's the goal. :battingeyelashes:

Later. :Namaste:

MORE LIGHT!!!

The other end of the clone shelf needed more illumination. There wasn't enough light a-r-o-u-n-d Emerald. I raised her up so she's right inside the bulbs, surrounded by light.

IMG_075742.JPG

Then I did the same for the other little clones.

IMG_075857.JPG

IMG_075948.JPG

I'm happier with that. For now we have 276 watts going in there. :blunt:

I sat and watched the Advanced panel for a while and it didn't blink at all. Apparently it's a random thing that isn't happening very often. Unless it starts acting up I'm gonna leave things as they are and replace the CFLs with the MarsHydro panels when I flip the shelf.

Are we all having fun yet? :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:
