The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Daily Update: Wednesday, August 3, 2016

Time to get this posted so I can get to the walking club. Having a social life, limited though it may be right now, is downright fun. :battingeyelashes:

So, let's start with a quick peek into the auto tent.

image15360.jpeg

Still crazy hot temp swings. I'm mulling over possibilities, but I think it's going to come down to keeping the air conditioners running longer hours. For now I leave the top flap of the tent open most of the day to let the hot air escape. I just went to check and right now, with the air running in the apartment, this tent is sitting at a steady 79 degrees.

Industrial Plant (Day 16) She got her first taste of increased nutes yesterday evening, so she should begin to show improvement. We're all gonna breathe a sigh of relief when I figure out what I'm doing here, aren't we? :laughtwo: I lightly watered her today. It's been brutally hot in there lately.

image15362.jpeg

Dark Devil Auto (Day 44) As pretty as the pictures are, they come nowhere near to catching her true essence. This is a beautiful specimen. Her colors are startling.

image15363.jpeg

Nothing yet.

Next door, in the Kit tent the Carnivals are now 8 days old.

That sad looking one in the back..... Watch her turn out to be the star. :battingeyelashes:

Into the tiny closet, the Med GOM 1.0 (Day 46) is now more than halfway home.

image15368.jpeg

I have a mystery going on with this plant. She appears to occasionally leak. Three times I've come over in the morning to find puddles on her leaves. The viscosity is more liquid than you'd think sap would be and smell is faintly cannabinoid in nature. At first I thought something was leaking from the light, but that's impossible and there aren't any signs that would suggest this anyway. The way this panel is constructed, even if there were liquid it could leak it wouldn't be doing so in the middle of the panel where there aren't any openings. Next time it happens I'll photograph it. Last time I convinced myself it was rain blowing in from the window. This morning there was a leaf jumper I was more interested in getting out of my closet and in doing so I sopped up the liquid.

The inner colas are beginning to rise up. The plan, she works. :slide:

The major colas are beginning to fill out right nicely.

Thats my post for today. I'm so glad you stopped to see the girls. Gotta run. I like to treat myself out to dinner before the walk, and Panera Bread has a bowl of delicious Summer Corn Chowder with my name on it. I'll catch up to you all later.

Thanks for visiting. :ciao:

:ciao: Hi Sweet :ciao:

Edit: i hope that is right

Thank you for that keltic. That was incredible reading. I love that Conradino has taken it upon himself to teach us the history of cannabis and then to expand the knowledge base by engaging the members and encouraging us to share our own experiences.

I keep forgetting to mention, I switched the Carnivals to a Gas Lantern Routine light schedule today on the exciting advice of a member I've been in close communications with. I've seen the pictures of what happened in his garden and decided it was worth a try, and here I had two innocent seedlings just waiting to be part of a new experiment. :laughtwo:

Throughout veg they'll be on 12 hrs on - 5.5 hrs off - 1 hr on - 5.5 hrs off.

Interesting light schedule
Good morning to you Sue and everybody here

I started using gaslight about 6 months ago, and it really does save on the electric bill. You're saving 5 hours every day, which adds up to a big chunk of change monthly and yearly. And the plants in veg seem to flower very quickly when you toggle off that one hour in the middle of the night.

Since I have two grow units going at once, I put them on opposite shifts, to keep the heat down in the room. So unit #1 is on during my day and unit #2 is on during my night.

The problem is the difference between the mobile app site and the computer site are TOTALLY DIFFERENT

Outdoor organics.

I agree. I mostly use the app but I can't for the life of me figure out how to save a specific post for reference later. There are so many great things I've discovered here but I have no way to find them again. Is there something I'm missing in the app?

Good morning AngryBird, although this is goodnight for you, if you're still up. See you later tonight. :hugs:

Smart move on the lights, and good to hear about energy savings. What does it say about the mentality of an obsessive cannabis cultivator that energy cost never even crosses my mind? :laughtwo:

I have difficulty using the app. Although the pages are so much smaller on the phone I still prefer the familiarity of the desktop version. Good to see you here again ohioboy. :hugs:

I've loaded the app into my iPhone to try and find out how you can access from the mobile format. What is it you're having difficulty with?

Sorry key1999, I often walk through the door and go straight to work without tending to the social responsibilities. I've been watching your footprints waiting for you to catch up to us. :welcome: to the :420: community and to my joyful little journal. It's so good to meet you. Are you settling into the community with ease, despite the app concerns? Let's see if we can figure out how to make that work better for you.

To find out where I've been I check my history. That can be time-consuming, considering the amount of traveling I do on the Internet on any given day, but it tracks for up to two weeks, I believe.

Morning Sue,
I don't get friend request on my phone (or don't know how to check). But it's faster to upload pictures. Looking good in you Version 2 grow lab.

Cheers

Mornin' millertm. :hugs: I can't find anywhere on the mobile app to access friend requests either. Interesting.

If they adjusted the app to be able to upload pictures to your gallery, added notifications of likes, thanks, etc like 420 to it it would be awesome. Maybe make the app a better version of the mobile page I would use it a lot more. Being able to add reps and emoticons with it would be great as well. Speed, functionality, and efficiency are key points I would hit.

Morning sue...well afternoon for you. :hugs: :passitleft:

Hi SweetSue. Everywhere I read there you are....Helping...being so kind and genuine! I feel blessed knowing you and others like you make this place so special!

:Namaste:

I have so much reading to catch up with but wanted to give you a shout-out while I watch you grow.

Grow-On SweetSue!

Lol, yes Sue, I did just finally catch up here late last night when I couldn't fall asleep. I find the interface for reading and browsing on the app to be much easier to navigate on my ipad & especially my phone. It seems like there should be someway in there to bookmark a post in a specific thread, but the best I've been able to do is subscribe to the thread. Some of those however, like Doc's Q&A, can be a bit lengthy to know where to reference something. I saw you mention posting to your blog and have figured that one out on the site. I just wish there was a way to do that in the app.

I think I'm going to start a journal soon. I've struggled with the germination and seedling process quit a bit and am finally feeling like I'm getting a hold on it. I'm currently practicing with some reg bag seed. I've managed to harvest two autos and just flipped to flower on a beast of a plant in my first HB grow. I think we're going to need a bigger boat....

I have her in an 18 gallon tote.

After reading through lots of journals here I've decided, thanks in large part to Con & Zigg, that I want some pure landrace sativa bud. I just put in my order for some ACE beans yesterday and I have a feeling that I'm going to need some help learning the ropes with the pure sativas. I'm very happy I happened upon this place. It has been an invaluable tool to me as I've been learning the basics of growing and I'm sure it will continue to be even more beneficial as I learn to pheno hunt and breed, which is what I'm wanting to do with those lovely south African genetics that are heading my way.

I am thinking of dabbling in GLR myself Sue, my veg becomes overgrown by the time I want to flower. This would help with heat as well.

GLR is GREAT for helping with heat and slowing some of the growth, although, it does trigger flower quicker when switched to 12/12. I used to run my veg cabinet under GLR, but, I was keeping moms for a long time and, I found several strains actually went into flower after being under GLR for maybe a year or more.
