The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Crazy week. A willow in the stream next to the house fell and I have been chainsawing, and I am just a bit too old to enjoy clearing a giant tree. This tree is almost 3 ft in diameter and my chainsaw only has a 16" bar. The good news is that I turned 3.5gms of huckleberry Kush into 0.8gms of the most flavorful Pineberry rosin. I have been squishing at 210F so the terps are just off the hook! If I was a millionaire I would send you a rosin press. Getting useable Meds in a few minutes time is crazy. Especially with BHO type yields. 0.8gm from 3.5 is 22%! Have a great day Sue!

I've been thinking I should start a dedicated fund Shiggity. I've been considering it since you started posting about yours. Nis will simply fabricate one. Unfortunately, I have no welder to call on. :laughtwo: How much do you figure you invested in it altogether? With those kind of yields it beats making oil the traditional way and using it recreationally.

Concentrates raise your tolerance level fairly quickly, so it's a good thing you grow so much, isn't it? :laughtwo:

Too old to play lumberjack? I can appreciate that. Lol!

Day three on my 5:1 capsules. I have to say, each day, when I take the morning capsule I always lower my expectations, assuming I imagined it. I must have imagined it. It's somewhat inconceivable that this small a dose could have such a dramatic euphoric effect. And yet, here I am an hour later clipping along with the most fabulous clear head high and the sweetest gentle body rushes that wash over me from head to toe every now and then. If it follows the pattern of the previous days this'll last all day long.

That's one of the most fascinating things about this concoction. There's no real variation in the buzz. You, or I should say I, get to a delicious buzz level and then I stay there for hours and hours and hours. I was doing some reading on this mix yesterday and they mentioned that as you get a few days in you may find they begin to hit even harder. If that happens, one of these will do an entire day.

Just to give you an idea, I'll be making my next batch using a full gram of CCO. That'll give me 76 capsules. That gram of oil is about 1/3 to 1/4 of what I'd expect to get out of an ounce of cannabis. The capsules will last me 37 days for that ounce. I've been burning and eating through 2-3 ounces a month. This is a significant savings, and the lecithin and coconut oil potentiates the CCO to greater potency medicinally as well as recreationally.

If I weren't experiencing it myself I wouldn't believe it.

Ok so the plates were 150 which is a majority of the cost. I got the press for 65 bucks and the solder iron heaters for 20. That's all you need. I added in a dual temp sensor for 20 bucks but a meat thermometer can also be used. The press with plates and everything cost me 260 but like I said most of the cost was plates. Something I am going to add is a length of pipe to slip over the press handle and give me more leverage. Maybe Nis will find a way to make you some plates!

My tolerance levels have gone up a bit but I make sure to take tiny flavorful dabs. Pressing that 3.5gms took only about 10 minutes. Heating up to 210F took 20 minutes. Conceivably one could up the scale and press for less than an hour to get dabs all week. And then make edibles with the leftover flat bud chips. I pressed each Nug twice to get that yield. Less sugary strains will give less yield, but that is true of bubble, Qwiso, or anything else. A side benefit of taking in more cannabis is that in this past week my psoriasis really cleared up! I am down to about 2% coverage. Before I started growing again I was up to about 8%

God, you got me really excited there! I've been using my pain cream on the patches I have, trying to get them to reduce while I work on getting enough cannabinoids in to get at it internally. The patches on my face have cleared to only a mild rosey tint after showering. There's a picture in the study hall I posted the other day that shows the dramatic improvement in just a week. See? I've been speculating about this. The psoriasis is an inflammatory disease that conventional medicine has no answer to. Inflammation is monitored by the ECS, so it made total sense to me that a steady diet of high-quality cannabinoids would eventually clear psoriasis.

We're finding out that you can get relief from psoriasis in more than one way. :yahoo: Until you've lived with this skin condition you can't understand the agony it causes you to overcome.

So, I'm assuming you've been dumping copious amounts of prime cannabinoids in since your first harvest. How long's that been now? You realize the implications here, don't you? There is no cure for psoriasis. I can't tell you how many times I've been told that. The medications they prescribe come with side effects, of course, as most pharmaceuticals do. This plant anyone can grow is the cure. Damn them all anyway! I'm sorry, two decades of living with this when it was unnecessary all along.......... Just so some rich people can be richer and some politicians can exert undue control over our lives.........

It makes a peaceful woman see red. Shit, that almost took me to black. Well you know what? We're not going to be quiet about it. I need to do some study on the disease and put together a good thread.

I just reread your post. Your implying that the big change in your psoriasis coverage was since you started pressing, or since you started indulging big time with concentrates with all the celebrating and the arrival of your equipment?

I got mostly clear slowly over time since my first harvest in December. It was getting worse at the time, including chafing in the pelvic region, perhaps the worst place to get psoriasis. I also have some on the inside rim of my nostrils and on my eyelids and behind my ear. The biggest patches were on my lower ribs. Well since I started smoking cannabis again it has gradually started to go away. I have noticed a change since I started taking in concentrates too. Exercise and less red meat also helps. But today I looked and my lower ribs are clear on both sides. I have those slightly darkened patches there that I get when the red scales go away. Eventually the patches will fade completely. I have been eating some straight up concentrate too. I love to nibble on it. The flavor of the low temp rosin is exactly like vaping the buds. But more intense of course. The alpha pinene in the Pineberry rosin really gives me that good kind of chest burn when I dab it, do you know what I mean?

I made a batch of 10:1 Cco yesterday. It was in the fridge over night. I put it under the microwave to get to room temp. Didn't turn the microwave on, just put it there out of reach from the great dane.

Nis and I ran a few errands, then we came home and I made a capsule for each of us. About 20 min into making the caps, I looked up and actually said woah because I was getting high, almost euphoric. It's like I'm seeing things in a different light. I'm liking this!!!

I'll be taking 2 capsules a day to help with a stomach bug I have. Sue really came through for me in aiding me in what to use and how much to use it. I'm very grateful to Sue because I didn't know where to start, and she came to mind. :thanks: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

I'll have to make more oil. :laughtwo: You have me wanting to vape concentrates. Lol!' I only have that gram of Tikal oil that I'll be using for 5:1 capsules. My vape pen went on me this week and I'm waiting for replacement heating elements. In the meantime I need to distill my 151 Everclear to get it a higher proof and whip up another batch of oil with what I have on hand.

The way you describe dabbing makes me really want to start that fund.

That's wonderful news about the patches clearing. You're on your way to healing. :high-five: Concentrates give you one of the strongest cannabinoid loads, delivered instantaneously. As a cannabinoid therapy delivery system only IV beats it IMHO.

I have small patches, but most of them were forehead, eyebrows, along the side of the nose, behind the ears, along the outer edges of the feet and some along the knuckles. The face and hands are well on the way to healing. I'm working on the rest. I'm hoping that at some point the scalp psoriasis will begin to heal. I think it's already started, but I'm afraid to let myself get my hopes up.

Aww.... You made me tear up Canna, and it's difficult to type quickly through tears. *sniff*

I forgot you were using the 10:1 mix. Interesting. I'll try that next time, but only with a few. I like this 5:1 mix for me, it is euphoric. :laughtwo:

Let me know how long it carries.

I've told you all before how much I love my Vapor Brothers pen. Well, this week, right after the end of our 7/10 celebration the skillet heater went out. Boo!!! I have that delicious wax I was gifted. I still have almost all of it left.

So I sent a note off to Vapor Brothers, just to find out how long I can expect one of the heaters to last. I wasn't of a mind to bad-mouth this wonderful product that'd brought me such joy simply because I hadn't bothered to be an informed consumer, but I wanted to be able to let all of you know what the life expectancy was. Turns out about a month is all one can reasonably expect. The replacements run $15 each, a reasonable cost to my mind. I thanked AJ for the information and told them to expect my order next week.

Today I received the two free replacement skillet heaters he insisted I accept. What a sweet guy. :battingeyelashes:

I have some wax with my name on it. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I was contemplating taking another, but you said 2 a day, and they should be spread out. So, when I was done with the caps, and I couldn't get any more oil in the pipette, I decided to take a couple tsp my plain yogurt/whole cranberry mix and add it to the oil to make sure I got the last bit. I counted 123 caps that were made. I'm thinking my caps are smaller than what you use.

Do you know what size capsules they are? If they're smaller than 00 you could have another without it being a problem, unless you get too high that is.

The easiest method I know of to make oil for capsules is slow baked olive oil and the plant material. 36 hours at your lowest oven setting. Strain/filter/press until you get out all the oil you can, add lecithin, refrigerate overnight and fill the capsules. I read recently that it's supposed to be at least 12 hours in the fridge, but I'm not sure they didn't pull that out of the air. It couldn't hurt to follow that advice.

Are you concerned with controlling doses? That would require a bit of mental gymnastics I may not be up to right now, so I hope you are. :laughtwo:

Since the capsules would just be for myself, I'm not into the mental gyrations it takes to control doses. It's trial and error on the capsules I make now. I'm also not into getting high or dabbing. I want the pain relief and the health benefits of as many of the compounds in the plant as I can get into me.

But I AM interested in getting oil that has some medicinal use, even if it isn't as potent as Rick's oil. Oh, and since I really don't like olive oil, I much prefer coconut oil.

In capsule form you shouldn't really be tasting them. Coconut is an excellent choice if your wanting to get high really fast and if you're treating liver cancer. For just about anything else the olive oil is the optimal choice. Avoiding the first-pass trip through the liver means the cannabinoids have an enhanced chance to do their work before being made to run the gauntlet past the liver enzymes when they eventually make their way there.

If you use coconut oil Instead you'd be well advised to increase bioavailability by doing some competitive inhibition. Apigenin is my supplement of choice for this. The enzymes that metabolize THC also metabolize apigenin. Take some about 30-45 min. before the dose and those enzymes are suitably distracted.

Will you be adding lecithin to the mix and bonding it overnight to biobomb it? I was thinking as I walked about how to do that with an olive oil or coconut oil extraction. I'm not sure about ratios though and no way to really test the CBD strains for effectiveness. I suppose make some and have someone test them out. Hmmmm.....

Mine are 0. Is that smaller than 00?? Lol I feel I have a fair amount of a tolerance so, I don't think I'll be too high.

They're a size down from the ones I used. Have another Canna and from now on 2 a dose, twice a day. Let me know how it hits. :laughtwo:
