The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Nope. Had to look it up. Will have to get it.

I forget the details but I remember enjoying it, ((Saving Grace from 2000)). Something about a nice lady growing canna. And Martin Clunes is in it, i believe you could say it is a small precursor to his role in Doc Martin.

Good film could be research for a documentary about today grows with trials and tribulations.

High Sue, sorry to read of your trials and tribulations with the tents and light bleaching, I saw it on the day 36 posted about it so put it out of my mind :sorry: :hugs:  :hugs:

It's all good Mr Am4zin. :hugs: Not an end of the world scenario at all. :laughtwo: I should be able to save most of the colas. The worst is the big one in the center. Tomorrow I'm gonna pull her out of the tent and take a look at her trichomes in daylight. Duggan has me thinking about that now, but it was too busy today and now I'm too tired to care. :battingeyelashes: I've just finished a big round of drenches. Five pots out of seven got a drink today.

Just catching up here Sue! Glasses are essential. I notice a significant difference when I don't wear them :)

Thank you Growlow. You should make it your mission to remind me of that periodically. I get easily distracted - yeah, we'll call it that. Lol.

Here, I'll solve the challenge for myself and spare you guys the worry. 'Cause I know you'll worry, and that's so endearing. :battingeyelashes:

Now I can't open the tent without seeing the glasses I should be putting on. The visor sits on the long table directly behind me when I'm standing right here. Velcro's one of my favorite gardening tools. :laughtwo:

Top of the day to ya SS. Just cruising thru before I leave work for home. Have an awesome night girl.:volcano-smiley:

Thanks Duggan. Have a ...... What kind of day do you hope for when you head off to work Duggan? Whatever it is, have a good one. :hugs:

I'm having a right nice one myself. It's so nice to have my big tent back. :slide:

Rad, my friend, it's going to make it. :woohoo:

They're quite the resilient lil guys. You should see the one I brought back from the brinks of death! Great idea on the glasses. I'm relieved knowing you have them in place at all times!

Evenin Sue, and friends, ya , well,...i work at a local U, in plant operations, Maintenance Electrician, so i do reletively small jobs every day, sometimes bigger ones , but work from "work orders" and "work request's" that involve the whole campus (very large w/ satellite bldgs.) Work in various "labs" , classrooms, tunnel systems, sub-stations. So Sue, i'm walking alot at work, there is transport around campus , but you have to call for a ride , and wait....sometimes for 1/2 hour. So i usually just walk , unless i have a lot of tools and supplies for a job, then i wait. 8 hr. days, 15 min's. from home, bin there 15 yrs. ...5 more to go , then i'l be able to retire with 20 yrs. service and a good pension. I'l be 62. Sue, did you hear about Marilyn's appnt.?

Daily Update: Tuesday, June 7, 2016

I decided I couldn't resist the urge to do an update. After all, I got the tent up and everything's rolling again, so there's no reason to wait. Yes, I hear you, I could have taken a break, but this is me, remember? Lol!

So, let's see what the girls have to say for themselves, shall we?

The cloning of the tops isn't going well. Shiva Shanti ll was the first to go. Not sure if the Carnival top's gonna make it either. I forgot to take a picture. I'll catch it tomorrow for sure.

image13284.jpeg

The DDA2 (Day 56) got dropped to the floor. She's a good distance now to make a run for it. She has good energy, and I added some auxiliary lighting for the lower reaches. She, and all the other LOS pots, got their malted barley grain drench and the SWICKs topped off.

image13285.jpeg

Bubba Kush (Day 55) and Carnival (Day 51) were all ready to go back into the tent when I got home from breakfast with the fan.

image13286.jpeg

Did some bending on Carnival's taller branches. I have lots of time to play with her. They won't GE I think I'll transplant them in a couple days into the pails I picked up. They could definately benefit from more root space. Right before their next drench. They don't get flipped for at least another month, if not longer. They follow the Critical cousins. By then they're going to be something to behold. I'm planning on letting the bubba Kush run wild. I haven't grown one yet and I want to see what they can do unleashed.

image13287.jpeg

My flowering tent. *contented sigh*. :battingeyelashes:

image13288.jpeg

The no-tills, on the right in this picture, got malted barley grain drenches after I topdressed them with fresh EWC and trimmed up the branches. Forgot to take pictures. They were happy. Take my word for it. The Strawberry Blue has a mass of colas reaching for the light. Amazing. Next time out I'll take good pictures.

The Shiva Shanti ll isn't going to be a big producer, sinc she never had the room she needed, but she looks like she's going to give me enough indica to play with. I'd be nice to find out a decent indica' knock me out. I'm not holding out much hope for that guys. My system runs faster and longer than the average bear. One can hope.

I've been sitting here this afternoon considering fitting in a small shelf over that fan base so I can start a small grouping of taster pots. Under these lights they'll be delicious, wouldn't you think? I should be able to get at least four or five.

image13289.jpeg

Both of the CBD Criticals are Day 118. Critical Cure, to the back, is 53 days from flip and 22 days from her last CAT. She's got another two week, by my estimation. She's starting to pant.

Critical Mass is starting to impressively pack the buds on. She's 35 days from her flip and 6 days from her CATs. Smells absolutely divine. :laughtwo:

Strawberry Blue is at Day 56, Crossroads is at Day 42 and Shiva Shanti ll is at Day 35.

Zamaldelica mystery seed (Day 22) is tucked in the back with good light. The spots you see on the new leaves are dirt particles. I dropped her on her head. Then I neglected to brush her off before I took the shot. Not the most attentive Canna Mom sometimes.

image13290.jpeg

image13291.jpeg
ER

Super Cheese (Day 42), being an LOS, got pulled out for a thorough malted barley grain drench. I cleaned her up real nice while she enjoyed the brisk breeze off the river wafting through the room.

image13292.jpeg

image13293.jpeg

Back into her tent with her buddies.

image13294.jpeg

image13295.jpeg

I took some cuttings from Strawberry Blue. Tomorrow I'll decide which ones I want to clone.

image13296.jpeg

For tonight they'll share the windowsill with the aloes.

image13297.jpeg

Off to something of a slow start with the update. There were things that I typically would have gotten shots of, but I'm wiped out today. :laughtwo: I'm a strong and resilient woman, but at 62, these jobs take longer than overnight to recover from. I feel like I could use another good night's sleep before I tackle anything else.

Time to plant something new. I have an honest-to-God perpetual going. I won't be moving. This is the first day since Dale died that I feel fully connected to what I'm doing here. I'm no longer hanging in limbo. Suddenly there's clarity and purpose. I'm almost down to 50% of my belongings, and thankful I held onto the Christmas decorations. Almost sold the Victorian Village and trolley.

I was sitting on the floor typing away earlier when I looked around the room and realized it'd slowly morphed into a space that almost perfectly reflects me. Just me. A space all mine. I could get used to that idea.

I think Christmas might be more celebratory this year.

I simply must scrape up a meal of sorts. One of these days I expect I'll start cooking again.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be seeing you around the yards. :Namaste:

No I didn't Duggan. I was just getting ready to take a walk over to your journal. I'm assuming you posted there? Be there in a minute.

wish you a nice day:circle-of-love:

Thank you Sara. You see I've pressed my Mars-Hydro reserves into service? It was such a relief to know I had these little work horses on hand to pick up the slack in the veg tent when the big guns got moved into the flowering tent. It'll make all the difference in the quality of my grow. :battingeyelashes:

I'm thinking I should be saving up for a bigger Mars-Hydro panel to fit the veg tent. Use one panel instead of these two small ones. Then I get to keep these in reserve. Look how handy they came in at this critical juncture.

:laughtwo: There I go again. The call of the cannabis cultivator - "MORE LIGHT!!!"

It's important to have at least one space that is a representation of yourself. I think it helps to better understand and reflect on who and where you are :) Awesome update SweetSue!

Thank you Growlow. After sharing space with a man for 35 years it was somewhat disconcerting letting so many of his things go, but it was so necessary for me to find an expression of just me, with special bits of him around.

Strangely, just today I realized I have no pictures of him on display. To be honest, I have no pictures of anyone special to me. In this manic age of posting selfies and taking scads of shots I find I prefer memory for my most cherished loved ones. I have archived shots, to be sure, but I find it unnecessary to scatter photos around anymore. When I lost access to my grandchildren I took all the pictures down and never really recovered from that state of mind.

I always imagined I'd have all these little picture frames along the mantle, and it didn't turn out like that at all. Life is so strange.

I turned out to be bohemian minimialist. That's probably a unique decorating style, and I'm still working on the minimalist part. :laughtwo:

I'm in the process of moving permanently to a quiet valley in the South Island of New Zealand. I would be lying if I said modern culture didn't have a part to play in me wanting to move as far away from it as possible. I would never shelter my children from the modern world. I sure as heck am going to ensure they know themselves and whats most important :) One of the only field I'm not a minimalist is Breeding and growing cannabis. I'm a gluttonous monster when it comes to that. :MoreNutes:

I decided I couldn't resist the urge to do an update. After all, I got the tent up and everything's rolling again, so there's no reason to wait. Yes, I hear you, I could have taken a break, but this is me, remember? Lol!

Well, I've been relying too much on just "liking" your recent updates, and thought it was about time I let you know what a great job your doing in your garden! I'm loving all your plants, with of course a special attraction to our shared strain, the Critical Cure girl. She's really looking great! Like you, I've had to stake up some of the colas. I just hope I get flowers as nice as yours. :goodjob: Also glad to see you move to the big tent. I'm sure you're loving the real estate.

Keep up the great work, mi amiga! :high-five:

Thanks for the words of encouragement SlowToke. :high-five: I'll be sure to hook up with him on cloning. TOAST does an amazing job too, with grocery produce bags, nonetheless.

I'm really looking forward to seeing your Critical Cures at the point mine is right now. You're going to laugh with glee when you harvest.

Mornin' Sue! :passitleft:

Good mornin' RheinRover. Don't mind if I do. You timed that perfectly. :passitleft:

I spent a good deal of time today educating an anxious and desperate mother of a child challenged with seizures. It's heartbreaking what these parents have been subjected to. Her greatest concern was whether cannabinoids would harm him. Every other medication this young man has been given in his 13 years had dangerous side effects. I'd prefer that didn't make me so angry and that I channel it into learning more so I can direct her to greater understanding.

This is a highly qualified nurse, completely oblivious, for the most part, of the truth about cannabis, dealing with neurologists in a state that just went legal - a long and contentious battle, but one with this inevitable outcome - completely untrained , or apparently incurious enough, to the medicinal administration of cannabis in controlling seizures. They won't even discuss it, because their liscenses could be in jeopardy.

I suppose they figure they have two years to get prepared. We aren't willing to wait.

image13341.jpeg

This bottle is a small amount of extra I made to have my daughter try. I'd like to offer her some options. The terpene retention of this tincture is impressive. This is my first time making one, and as such my first time doing one in the freezer. I'm going to try one with Dark Devil Auto.

The plan is to try this likely too-weak dose of approx. 5mg cannabinoids per ml tincture at a 2:1 CBD:THC ratio to see if there's any noticeable change at all. Cannabis is so individually tolerated that you have to start low anyway, but she and I both know this ratio of 2:1 isn't what we believe would be optimal, so we'll be ordering some seeds of Critical Therapy, rated at 20:1. I'm hoping to locate a strain at 4:1 or thereabouts. Not everyone responds to a low dose THC and if that's the case here I don't want us to have to wait another cycle.

This helps define my goal when deciding what seed to drop next. Working on getting the perpetual to fall into that sweet-spot rhythm.

My medicinal stores are becoming more diversified. A cream for this mild psoriasis along the eyebrows might be a nice next project. Take care of Susan every once in a while. :laughtwo:

, , . It's so nice to have my big tent back. :slide:

Rad, my friend, it's going to make it. :woohoo:

I've been looking at the photos. That aloe pup had no roots when I dug her out so I am pleasantly surprised it found a way to suck up water :)

A big tent, big plants, and an apartment that fits you. This is good!

image13284.jpeg

If you make some canna-Christmas ham, I'm sure a few of us would love to make the trek there for Christmas dinner lol. Girls are looking great sue! That clone looks healthy as can be but no sign of roots? Leaves are still green and healthy looking.

I was looking at that clone and thinking that with that little shriveling at the base and no roots, I would trim off the bottom node, dip in liquid cloner/aloe, and keep on cloning it.
