Bud + solvent + freezer = potential relief from seizures.

Quick Winterized Tincture

2 grams of Med GOM 1.0 , decarbed at 225 degrees F for an hour
4 ounces of 95% ethanol culinary solvent

Crumble bud without making it powder. Add solvent and bud together and seal. Shake vigorously and place in the freezer for five days, shaking every now and then every day. Strain until you're satisfied with the purity (usually 2-3 times) and bottle.

Hopefully, the 13-yr old boy who's entire life has been defined by seizures that are beginning to ramp up at a frightening speed will respond on some level to this tincture. I'm almost certain that for a case as severe as his it'll require a strain with a ratio of at least 4:1 CBD:THC. His mother and I are hoping he responds favorably, at which point we can search for and purchase seeds for a more appropriate strain.

The tragedy is that the medications that he's been on his entire life promote aggressive behavior. He's at the point now, at 13, that his parents are going to have to have him institutionalized, because his behavior is tearing the rest of the family apart. This is so frustrating, knowing that this child could have been spared this entire situation, but for the insanity of cannabis prohibition.

I'm trying hard not to have high expectations for this child, but my heart hopes for some relief. It's painful watching my friend confronted with the reality of having to send one of her children away. As a parent myself I know how difficult this is for her. She's decided that, come what may, we're going to pursue this course of treatment and see if we can find the boy under all that pain.

Prohibition is a rediculous construct, causing so much undue pain it makes a peaceful woman want to scream.

Heya Suuueee! Hugss my friend. You could not have said this better hun.....really. I literally helped my own sister raise her two kids because she suffers from debilitating epilepsy & in my heart I truly know cannabis would slow or stop the progression of this brain disorder. Ohio is slowly comin round but prohibition is just ridiculous at this point. I have mad respect for my big sis! I also have mad respect for you & your integrity! You rock sue! :volcano-smiley:

Dang! This cut looks good on me!!! I have to laugh, this is my third cut since April and each one got shorter. I'd bet my hair's shorter now than many of the men here. Lol! I sometimes wonder how many of you sport pony tails or braids. I'm pretty sure Graytail does, or used to. :laughtwo:

I get a haircut, convinced that I'm finally done with long hair, and six months later I still haven't bothered to get another and have forgotten what a pain in the ass it can be sometimes. Still, I'll not bother for another year or two and finally lose my patience. Wash Rinse Repeat for the past few decades. Never had a braid, but rock the pony consistently at home.

I tell people I do it to make sure it's long enough to donate to Cuts for Cancer. I do donate, for all my other faults I was blessed with a good head of hair, but really that's just an excuse. At 44 now it's a good third grey, but not in a pattern at least.

DDA2 (Day 51) These little Velcro tiedowns I worked up with the soft twist ties work wonders for keeping the canopy relatively level. I realized today that the inspiration for them probably came from arteekay. They look different, but this is what he does on his fabric pots. Can't believe I didn't notice that until today. Great minds think alike. :laughtwo:

By different, she means better. :)

Glad I could offer something of value to ya Sue.

What is the dosing on this mix you made? Do you evaporate the alcohol before dosing?

Sue, most the CBD strains I've had taste just fine. I have a cbd blue shark cross that tastes almost like blue stream.

Your snowy caps look like bleaching. Too much light intensity in a small area is my guess.

Cajun grew this strain and it's apparently a feature of the genetics. They're actually blossoms that erupt up there at the top, or at least the pistils are so tightly packed that that's what they look like. It's the same with the CBD Critical Mass, but on a smaller scale.

Wow are you really running the temp as high as 95?

Yeah, that surprised me too. It was one, very brutal day when I was out for most of the day and the air was turned off. They can stand that on occassion. Typically I'm looking for somewhere around 82-85.

You have to wonder if the money they hope to raise through the myriad of fees they'll design will be worth the pain they're perpetuating with all this insanity. Legalize across the board and get out of our way. The nature of the beast is that innovation will explode and the economy will rebound, not through fees on cannabis, but on economic growth and tax receipts from the sales of cannabis products, taxed just like every other consumer product.

But we're talking a medicinal herb that's been used as a curative since the beginning of recorded history. This is as insane as if they started restricting garlic. Really, are we that far out of touch with reality?

Scootay, within years now your sister will find relief. The seeds for plants that will perform this essential job of calming the neural storms are priced at $44.80 a piece. $44.80 a piece. WTH????? You're damned right that'll make me learn to clone. And shame on them for pricing this invaluable medicine so high as to be unreachable for so many who need it.

See? I knew there were many of you with longer hair than mine.

Every day I stop and wander through your garden for pleasure and inspiration. You offer me something of value with every visit. :hugs:

2 grams of bud = approx 200 mg of cannabinoids. Since I can't have it tested I can't be certain, so for my purposes I always back off to a conservative 80% cannabinoids. That means I estimate around 160 mg of cannabinoids in the tincture. It makes 4 ounces, and no, you don't evaporate off, unless you want to make it into an Elixer first. That's something we won't be doing this time. If I'm going through that trouble I want to be using a strain with a minimum 4:1 ratio CBD:THC, the minimum needed to positively effect seizures. The monstrously expensive seeds for CBD Therapy noted above come in at a whopping 20:1. This is what I need. I hate having to tell them on Tuesday that they'll cost that much, because it's out of reach for me and if they're interested they'll have to procure seeds on their own. I'm certain they'll do it and without hesitation. In their household it's not the financial challenge it'd be in mine now.

The dose would be variable, but they'll be using a metered dropper and his mother's a trauma nurse, so calculating the dose will be easy for her to do.

Day 53. The leaves are starting to stain black. :woohoo:

Thanks for all of your help. This mix you made looks extremely interesting. Idon't love to know what info you can give me.

Oral dose? Subq? Vaped?

I'll assume oral since he's 13.

Very challenging news guys. Heirloom just informed us that he was hit by a logging truck about five weeks ago and has lost limbs. I'm including a link to his thread so you can read his report yourself, but we need to garner all the positive energy we can and shower him with it. He lived. He's a force of nature himself and in the end I know this magnificent man will not just survive but thrive like you've never seen.

Let's let him know his family reaches round the globe and we'll all be holding him in our thoughts as he recovers.

Thank up you in advance for helping to shore up my dear friend.

Heirloom's Little Bit Of Everything

Sue, thank you for the info to Heirloom. I hope he has a speedy recovery. He's got to be an emotional mess.

One of the strongest men I've met here. What he's already survived in life would have leveled a lessor man. I have great expectations for his complete recovery. Thankfully, it'll include cannabis therapies, hopefully on many fronts. If I have any influence you can count on that therapy being fine tuned to his ever-changing needs.

Wow she is starting to look very beautiful, bringing out her colors!

:welcome: to my journal Coloradokid. Your signature line made me laugh right out loud, a good trick when I'm so deep into empathy for Heirloom. You will forever be loved by me for that one moment. :battingeyelashes:  I look forward to getting to know you better. I'll try to swing through your grow journal later, after I gather myself a bit more and can pay attention to what you're doing. I'd hate to shortchange you on my visit.

Have you checked out the community grow yet? If not, treat yourself. These are amazing plants and the thread is chock full of luscious pictures of plants grown by cultivators more talented than I.

Make yourself at home. I have a wonderful band of guests that you'll find enjoyable company. Jump in and join the conversation and please, feel free to ask anything. No one expects you'll read through this missive. I have no ego to upset, so if you're curious about anything the simplest way is to ask me outright. I don't mind being the occasional search engine. :laughtwo:

Thank you so much and I have been scrolling through and skimming through somewhat but I'll definitely have to go back and look more attentively lol.

It really is nice to have found a site with like minded friendly people as yourself and everyone else here. I truly feel as though I have found my home away from home. I definitely look forward to meeting everyone and sharing knowledge so I can better understand how to cultivate my cannabis( I'm a newb)

Thank you Sue, and all.

My life does have a knack for sudden hard turns. I'm about done with this roller coaster though. It's not amusing anymore. I'm beat up, beat down, broken, fused, missing parts, have my very own turtle shell and several other unpleasantries I'll spare you. I'm confused as to why I'm still here, and honestly should not and would rather not be, or at least back in coma.

Love your DD pics Sue. I saw my fem seeded DD yesterday. She was beautiful. So was the reversed plant. Both were dark flowers and leaves. Score! My grower friend who took over is going to test the seeds in a batch of 100. The seeds looked almost mature and the plant was winding down.

Good to see your pics again.

I can't tell you not to feel that way. I have not gone through what you have. What I can tell you, is you are here for a reason!!! If you weren't meant to have survived your accident, you wouldn't have!!! Right now, your job is to heal!!! You are loved and an inspiration to us!! I watched your work on the farm and am envious!! You will be back on the tractor and taking care of the baby pigs before you know it!! Have faith and bask in the love from all your friend (cyber and real world) that are here to help!!! :circle-of-love::peace:

Oh yeah, baby pigs. They were born last week. What a nitemare that was that I left for others to deal with. Momma went berserk and tried killing the babies. Never let them nurse. They've been bottle fed since birth. Of the 11 born alive, only 6 remain. I won't be doing this again, and won't be raising livestock anymore. I have to completely restructure my world in order to eventually get by on my own.

I do have a new kitten though. I'm warm and fairly motionless, a perfect sleep mate.

:thanks:
