The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Thank you RheinRover and smokiebear.  It's brought a new lightness to the day.

RheinRover, the two CBD Criticals were planted in expectation of her therapy. The CBD Critical Cure was the one recommended to her by Cajun, and she's in flower right now. As small a dose as it takes for her to find relief, she has plenty here to tide her over. My friend's husband lost out on this harvest. He'll have to wait for another harvest, which won't be until late June when these come down. I'm thankful he didn't rush over to get it last week. I think he's not enamoured with the idea that it won't get him high.

It's such a deeply-rooted mindset, that cannabis should get you high or it's not effective, one that I've had to overthrow in my own mind. Watching my daughter's body demonstrate immediate and easily observable release from the anxiety that's plagued her from infancy...... There really aren't words adequate enough to express the joyful relief and the burning anger at our prohibitive laws that make my baby's decision to heal a criminal enterprise. This is utter madness that must be stopped.

You make such a good point with the higher CBD strains. I was lucky enough to try CBD Kush and that really changed my mind on things. I suffer from Cervical Stenosis and noticed a big change in how it made me feel. I wasn't high but I felt so relaxed and for the first time in awhile my neck wasn't hurting. Now that I have a few grows under my belt once summer is over I plan on growing a few high CBD strains to treat my condition better. Honestly most strains help, or help by taking my mind off of the nagging plain but its not always best for me to be super stoned when I need to function during the day.
I also want to thank you for your detailed instructions on your oil making. I have my first batch in the freezer right now. Making an oil I can vaporize but used your filtering instructions to get the cleanest oil. Tomorrow after its done with its winterization I'll get it in the pan and see how well it turned out.

Sue! My favorite gardener!:hug::hug: I can't express to you how happy I am that your daughter is starting to embrace the many positives that this beautiful plant brings to people with all kinds of ailments. I am eagerly awaiting her description of her day and how it has helped her. The fact that you are using your own money and precious time to help others touches my heart strings. I wish I could say that I was selflessly growing medicine for me and my buddy but we, admittedly, want the high that goes along with the medical benefits. You are such a asset to this community as well as your own. Keep up the good work.

I'd love to hear open honest opinions are thought from the horse's mouth here. I feel it could give us some data on how the change in attitudes can occur... perhaps we can spread it some.

She has her own unique talent as a writer. She hasn't written since she became part of a couple a year ago, so I'm looking forward to her post myself. We had a lengthy conversation earlier about how she's so relaxed, and she's amazed that people feel this way all the time. Then I showed her how much I have set aside for her and she relaxed further.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why we grow. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

We just took a few clones the other day. It's the waiting for 2 weeks that's killing me. Lol.

I'm posting my cloning initiation next. I went low-tech. Lazy gardener with a sizable seed bank. :laughtwo:

She's surprised at the efficacy of the treatment. She's been exposed her whole life to pot getting mom and dad high, so this idea of cannabis as straight-up medicine was a stretch for her. She tried mild euphoria, but that didn't work on the same level that this apparently does. She adapts as quickly as her mother and she's already learned to read her body for signs that it's wearing off. Now she can stay one step ahead of it.

How can this simple act of growing a plant to heal someone who's struggled for 33 years be illegal? This plant, that does nothing but heal?

That's very sweet of you Noob.:hug::hug: I'm at base level nothing more than a mother fighting for her child. I personally insist on the euphoric benefits of cannabis. I believe this plant enhances my creative forces in a way nothing else does and I likely have a higher threshold of a normal level of buzz than most. This is one of the best things about cannabis, we can both have what we seek. I can also benefit from using her high CBD strains to augment my own therapy. She tells me she has immediate pain relief from her tiny doses and I have this muscle in my upper back.......

RheinRover, I missed replying on this earlier. :woohoo: I'm so pleased you're making oil. I assume you'll be posting pictures on your journal? I'll have to check it out.

Daily Update: Tuesday, May 3, 2016

Good afternoon everyone. Finally, time to get this posted. Where does the day go?

Maintenance notes:
- CBD Critical Mass got her TransWater drench, her undercarriage trimmed close, her canopy thinned out and flipped.
- The LOS Pots got their malted barley grain drench, 1/2 gallon per pot with extra in the shopping bag pot that has no SWICK.
- Shiva Shanti ll and Crossroads 2 got dropped into dirt.
- Strawberry Blue got a thorough drench with aloe vera water in anticipation of her transplant on Thursday.
- The Tents got realigned. They're straight veg and flower now.
- I started three clones. Cross the fingers and toes.

Let's take a stroll. :battingeyelashes:

Starting with the flowering tent.

Just the two Critical girls in here now. How exciting! :slide:

CBD Critical Cure (Day 83, flip + 18 days) What a beauty.

image11463.jpeg

Today was flip day for the CBD Critical Mass (Day 83). Time to clean her up and take some clones.

image11464.jpeg

image11465.jpeg

After I had her all tidied up it was time to tie that sturdy tip down. This is one incredibly strong plant! I'll check tomorrow and tie down the next leader. I'll keep going like that until the lowest ones catch up.

image11466.jpeg

She cleaned up real nice. I've gotten to be pretty ruthless about this.

image11467.jpeg

Light can now penetrate through to the soil.

image11468.jpeg

On to the veg tent.

image11469.jpeg

Its just a nursery right now. Pretty quiet. :laughtwo:

image11470.jpeg

I had to prop up this poor baby. I'm pretty sure she's going to make it, but I left her in the paper towel a day too long, so she's going to take a bit to recover.

Crossroads (Day 7)

image11472.jpeg

Super Cheese (Day 7)

image11473.jpeg

I'm considering setting up some CFLs in here and giving the big light a break. I'll get those tight nodes I'm so fond of like that. I'll think on it tonight and see what magic I can make happen tomorrow.

The Dark Devil Auto (Day 81)

image11474.jpeg

image11475.jpeg

image11476.jpeg

Still a fair number of white pistils and almost all of the trichomes are still clear. Minimum is still a week away.

image11477.jpeg

You can see, she's awfully close though.

DDA2 (Day 21)

Strawberry Blue (Day 21) front and center, Bubba Kush (Day 20) to the left, Carnival (Day 16) to the right.

Adventures in Cloning

I began by scoping out potential candidates.

image11480.jpeg

Once I had them they were cleaned up and set off to the side in some aloe vera juice to wait while I finished with the trimming and flip preparations.

image11481.jpeg

I carefully shaved off just the top layer. I'd watched Pigeons do this recently and he inspired me.

image11482.jpeg

The Rockwool cubes were saturated with aloe vera juice, the clones plunged into them. No rooting hormone, only aloe. I've been wanting to try this for a good while. This is about as low-tech as I can comfortably take it. It doesn't matter if this works, which will probably guarantee that it will. :laughtwo:

image11483.jpeg

I found the perfect use for this glass cover. I figured over here on the floor they'll be getting something closer to real sunlight, but diffused by the Dark Devil Auto. They're out of the way and safe. The temp is constant. They should be happy here.

image11484.jpeg

A busy day. Now some time for me. I'll be seeing you around the site. Hopefully I'll find some running around free time today. Time seems to be getting away from me lately. So much to discover.

Keep spreading that joy now. Mines bubbling over these days. Look guys, I started cloning. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:Namaste:

It that a cover of an outdoor pole light fixture? Sure seems to fit the bill.
I'll be rooting for your aloe clones (rooting for them.. Oh Tead, you've dipping into cheesyness).

 It's just a display cover that was collecting dust and I was thinking about culling, but for some reason held it back from the last pick up. Lo and behold, this is why. I love it when the universe and I are in the same wavelength and I listen. :laughtwo:

Sue, if I can take clones, anyone can. I look forward to seeing these little guys spit out the white roots.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. That helped.

I took your advice this time around when we took clones. I used aloe water for the liquid.

That pleases me to no end Canna. May they sprout luscious white roots in no time.

Shiva Shanti ll . . . What is this "Jabberwocky"? It is an Indica.
Cannot be in Sue's garden.
must be a parallel universe, Just funning. :slide:

Grate Day!
. . .:ciao:

Hahaha! I promised Shiggity I'd start an indica and hopefully begin sleeping again. By the time it's done it'll have been a year since Dale died. I think that's long enough for sporadic sleep patterns. At some point I had to start listening to the concerned voices of those who loved me.

This and This again.
For what it is worth, loss of sleep like this can lead to fatigue, chronic in fashion. I had it about 4 years ago and it caused a loss of joy in my life, chronic fatigue. I was fatigued and didn't even know it.

Meh, Live and learn. Now, I am back and badder than ever.
Rest well Sweet one.
:Namaste:

Sue, the malted barley can be top dressed if you wish to make things a bit easier. I sprout mung and corn for SST, and top dress malted barley and ground flax seeds.

The cuts look good, with the growth and leaves on those three, don't be discouraged if they take 10-14 days to get a nice thick root base.

Sue,

What is the aloe vera strength you are using? I have been adding some diced up plant when I up pot for a while.

FYI checking the flower room tonight I broke a branch that amounted to a tip and two side buds on a Kosher Kush plant that is 42 days into flower. Dried, trimmed and ground a gram. I have been wanting to see if it would live up to the legend. Well, er, ah..I had finished a small bowl of store bought Adonis (A Washington State strain, 80% Indica, THC 25.33) and was feeling rather medicated. I had a gram so I decided to try a small bowl of the KK then and some first thing tomorrow. I was not expecting a pleasant rush after two hits.

KK is known for dry eyes, sleepy and couch lock. I am wide awake and alert. Oh and very stoned on a 4 hit bowel. Ok, one more bowel.

This is a very nice high.

Thank you 36. I was figuring it's take that long, so I'll practice patience.

I don't think I'd have thought of flax seeds as an additive and I have some on hand. I typically topdress with the malted barley grain myself. It's so much easier that way. I was tired when I did this morning's drench preparations, and before I knew it I'd dropped it into the water. I guess I do need more sleep. :laughtwo:

Canyon, the bottle says 1x. It's something I bought to play around with until I can track down an aloe plant. Not as easy as that sounds in an urban jungle without a car.

The KK sounds enticing. I'm smoking Zamaldelica in between Callanetics movements. Makes for some special mind/body connections.

Back to pulsing. :ciao:

I find myself wondering though, if as we get older we need less sleep? I seem to wake after 5-6 hours, regardless of any factors. I used to demand 8 hours or I was unbearable company. Now I function quite well, for all intents and purposes, on 5-6. It's when I fall down to 3-4 hours for a few nights straight, which I've been known to do of late, that trouble begins. That's the cycle I need to stop.

The big box stores sell aloe this time of year here, though i bought mine from a local nursery and my brother gave me another. Those 3 have given me 40+ pups, I have some inside and outside, and give them away. I also use them in waterings or foliars weekly. It is an incredibly easy plant to grow as well.

If you use flax in the garden, make sure you grind them up first. They get slimey and attracted mold when I tried to sprout them for a SST.

Yeah, flax isn't a sprouter. :laughtwo: I keep hoping the local Lowe's will carry some aloe. Last year none showed up at all. Of course, the first year I needed it.
