The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

So you're all ordered up then?

My seeds got here today and now I'm just trying to decide what to germ, and who the heck in my area has a drill with 1/16th bit I can borrow haha!

Ok, I'll bite - why the drill?

Sue,
More thoughts,
From past post, you know of my wife's back problems. She also seriously dislikes being stoned other than late at night. Even then she will not smoke or vape.

Medical cbd in any form makes her drowsy and dull headed. She did use it long enough to reduce her prescription drug intake. She has further reduced the prescriptions after stopping the cbd.

Your daughter has had a bad brownie experience related to thc. There are strains that have one to ten or twenty in favor of cbd. If you go that way you can add in any amount of thc you want from your stash. ACDC is one and one on CBD Crue I think.

Something else, in this state there is a cbd tincture available. It comes in a pump spray bottle. You spray it under your tong or cheeks. This method hits the blood stream much faster than brownies. I actually made some with high thc. It also wears off faster. I think tacking works this way only it stays in your mouth longer, not sure though.

When you get back home you could take a bud or two and make a weak tincture for her and use an eye dropper for dosing. Think micro douse. Let her get accustom to real mild and short term.

50/50 and oil, I know what a dab on a nail will do. Go slow please.

I never know,

The milk crates will splendidly get you in there. I am still waiting for the manufaturers to realize we would love some square fabric pots with square high saucers to match. 6-8" high straight walled saucers please! That would just make things so epic and easy.

Geopots have square bottoms. They are better made than SmartPots as they keep their shape better and the upper edges don't sag and bag. They pack tight.

I really need to buy a wash tub for watering the big pots while they are still in early veg,

Thank you Canyon. My daughter can't tolerate edibles, tinctures, vaping - anything that introduces euphoria. This is what makes tacking so invaluable. It gets the cannabinoids past the blood/brain barrier and directly into the system without going through the gut and having the THC activated by the enzymes in the liver. No euphoria at all to deal with, just healing and a general feeling of wellness.

This is a protocol that would benefit your wife Canyon. We're having great success with all types of physical conditions, from general aches and pains to MS to cancer. Not simply relief from symptoms, but healing. The body is designed to be in a state of balance, of homeostasis. When you're sick or stressed your body can't create enough cannabinoids to keep you healthy and disease settles in. By adding the additional phytocannabinoids from the cannabis plant found in CCO, through tacking and possibly the more aggressive additional use of suppositories you greatly increase your body's chances for healing.

Has she had edibles that were not decarbed prior? Have you infused milk before? What specific effects are you looking for? Are you sure that she is needing CBD? Terpenes and Canabinoids have a synergistic effect, CBD is not a cure all.

I'm in a similar situation with my mother. Back surgeries, allergies, and asthma. Won't take pills. Can't deal with being high. Won't stop working or gardening, but I want to make her better. I have not given her a thing yet.

People react differently to different strains and extractions. What works for one may not work for another. This is a terrible thing to say, but try to find willing "guinea pigs" with similar tolerances to test it out before hand. The differences between phenotypes and method of growing can have huge impacts on the final product.

I just hope you don't expect an easy fix/find from a seed pack. Most breeders descriptions should be taken at a 1 to 10 chance to what is wanted or expected.

I say this with love and respect Sue, and I always wish the best for you and yours.

And please do not make extracts out of plants that are being sprayed in flower.

You know me 36 - no ego to bruise, no offense taken. We're looking for healing, nothing more, nothing less. Tacking isn't like other delivery systems. It's completely safe and starts out with very low doses, building the tolerances slowly but consistently. We don't feel like she's offering herself up as a Guinea pig any more than we would if she were taking a new medication prescribed by her physican, hoping for the expected results.

Concentrated Cannabis Oil is just what the name says, a concentration of the cannabinoids and terpenes found in the cannabis plant. Dosed properly it works with the Endocannabinoid System without fear of side effects. Tacking removes the concern of euphoria and gives her a better chance for healing, something no member of the medical profession has been able to offer in all her 33 years. It's a proven protocol and I have great confidence in it.

Have you ever looked into the resources available on site about CCO? If not, I invite you to do so. The links to all the related threads are at the bottom of my signature line. It might be something your mother would find worth trying. She could certainly stand to find the relief.

Growing your own plants, producing your own oil and learning to do the protocols properly isn't an easy fix, just an effective one that lets you control your own destiny.

Using the plant material insures you get both THC and CBD. They aren't anywhere near as effective alone. The plant's medicinal value lies in the "entourage effect" with all the parts working in synergy.

Ok, I'll bite - why the drill?

Needs to make a hole.

(glad I could help) :) :) :)

Thanks RTK!

My dresser back is currently sitting beside it. I need hinges and magnetic closures on it, but the damn thing is older than I, so I dare not break it. Drill before screwing for best results

Ahhh.... Stealthy gardening. Mystery solved. :laughtwo:

Thank goodness! I was imagining all sorts of things to do to seeds with that drill bit, and to be honest, it was scaring me a little. :)

Hey now! I try to keep my personal life out of it... I kid! I kid!

Nope, just finishing touches. Just the drill, blueberry kush, Schucks, Unnamed and I. I'm stoked.

I use Geo Pots. Those square bottoms made it easier to put them in a crate for easy handling and increased stability. The crates, in turn, made it easier to appreciably increase the soil volume in the pots.

WORD. I'm really cautious about revealing my gender on new sites because some places are toxic towards women just because they're women. They're usually the places that are toxic towards ANYONE who's not in the inner circle, of course, so anyone who is new or different or perceived as "less than" gets piled on. That's bullshit. There are lots of reasons I suck as a grower, but my gender isn't one of them :)

And I, personally, like being called "dude" or "man" or "guy" or whatever anyone may call me affectionately. Doesn't ruffle my feathers --which are a bit bedraggled today :)

Peace out!

i dont know whats going on on other forums cause i never entered one. its actually the first forum of any kind i have ever entered and register.
im happy i did the right choice:thumb::Love::volcano-smiley:

Ya know i was reading this post and I recalled reading up on topical application of cannabis and it might be right up your wifes alley, here's a bit of info to think about maybe.
"Marijuana is lipophilic, which means that it can be dissolved into a fat-soluble substance and readily enter cell membranes. In other words, it can be effective when applied topically on the skin. Marijuana can be used transdermally to relieve pain from many conditions. Medical marijuana can be a balm, lotion, ointment or rubbing alcohol solution. In the old days when people only had plants to use for medication, many patients would soak marijuana leaves in alcohol and apply them as a poultice to an arthritic or swollen joint.

Many substances pass easily through the skin and that is why transdermal medicine has been more evident in contemporary medicine. When it comes to marijuana’s anti-inflammatory effect people have long experienced this in action when they have applied marijuana to their skin. Patients with arthritis, muscle and joint pain can testify to the easing of the aches and pains that they feel on a regular basis. Topical marijuana preparations usually provide only local relief and do not have effect on the brain, meaning there is usually no high. This is helpful for those times when marijuana use is inappropriate (like when you have to drive your car) and you still need pain relief! Topical preparations can be purchased or made at home.

Transdermal medicine is ideal for pain management as well as sports and pediatric medicine. In fact it is one of the best ways to administer medicines quickly and effectively. Transdermal methods of delivery are widely used because they allow the absorption of medicine directly through the skin. Gels, emulsion creams, sprays and lip balm stick applicators are easy to use and are effective in getting medicine into the bloodstream quickly.

Traditional methods of administering medicine such as tablets or capsules get watered down and become much less effective due to stomach acids and digestive enzymes before they eventually get into the bloodstream. Bypassing the stomach and liver means a much greater percentage of the active ingredient goes straight into the bloodstream where it’s needed. In many cases, transdermal methods are used to help avoid potential side effects such as stomach upset or drowsiness. The full potential for transdermal medicine has not been explored by modern medicine though it has been practiced for thousands of years in hot springs around the world.

Of course the use of magnesium oil for these same effects is also recommended and using topical magnesium and marijuana together in combination is excellent for difficult, stubborn pain. One of the main points for everyone to understand is that when we are thrust back to simpler lives, having access to versatile medicines without cost is important. If the governments would get off their people’s backs, marijuana would be legal and virtually free because it’s so easily grown.

It is highly regrettable that the deficiency of such an inexpensive, low-toxicity nutrient like magnesium results in diseases that cause incalculable suffering and expense throughout the world.
- Dr. Steven Johnson

Bottom line, when it comes to pain medications that work on the source of pain and disease, there is nothing like magnesium chloride and nothing like cannabinoid medicine. Together they are the Batman and Robin superhero medical team for the world of pain, heavy emotional upset, and the general treatment of disease. Add sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and iodine and you already have a full medical team at your fingertips."
Just a thought! Hope you don't mind the long post on your journal Sue lol.

lexort, that was extraordinary. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. At the bottom of my signature line is a link to Information resources, which is really my blog, now strongly influenced by CCO and related issues. There's a blog post there on making a concentrated olive oil infused with fresh buds. The process saves more of the monoterpenes, which degrade tremendously in the first week of drying. It makes an excellent, healing edible oil that can be used to great effect as a topical. A good read.

Thanks sue i will definitely go check it out right now lol. Never ceases to amaze the benefits and applications this plant presents. That post by canyon just kinda jogged my memory of the topical use i had read about few months back and it seems like something that could be useful to those who need pain relief but don't necessarily want the high that comes with smoking or brownies. I figured it seemed to be along the same lines as you were shooting for just for pain instead of anxiety. I have asperger syndrome so i deal with alot anxiety myself however cannabis doesn't seem to affect me quite the same as my wife for instance, her and i could smoke the same amount and she would get pretty stoned but for me it just seems to help me be just me without the tenseness and stress and what have you. I wish I could be of more help with the strains but currently i only have bagseed grows under my belt (that is gonna change soon though) and also i like sativa's even though they say its not as good for anxiety it seems to treat me differently from most people. Anyways enough of my ramblings im off to check out that thread you suggested. Good vibes your way!
