The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Lactobacillis Serum: Step Three

The curds have separated. It's time to remove them and store the serum.

image3490.jpeg

The curds lifted right out. Toss this into the reserve soil. Loaded with bacteria.

image3491.jpeg

The liquid is the serum. Store it in the refrigerator. If you store it at room temp you need to add equal parts of a sugar to preserve it.

image3492.jpeg

Use this at a ratio of 1:20, one part serum to 20 parts water, either as a drench or a foliar.

The curds get chopped up and mixed into the reserve LOS bin.

Tomorrow I'll inoculate both no-tills.

Thanks 30Gr0w. You've been very patient with me. :battingeyelashes:

And on that note I believe I'm going to take a stab at some sleep. I'm still zipping right along from the tea, but the body is feeling it. It's been great fun guys, but a couple long days in a row. A fun weekend, though.

Good night.

Thank you Sue, you reminded me my brother loves stem tea. He mixes it with his favorite teas and enjoys the taste. My compost pile is plenty big, so I'll be saving stems for him again.

Do you plant on using the LABS to ferment and make your own bio available nutes? I wouldn't recommend relying on them, but it could be useful with your soil in the small pots.

Thank you 36, that possibility hadn't occurred to me until I came across that link you shared on your journal as I was headed off to bed last night. Your thread is like a textbook on LOS resources. :battingeyelashes: I'll check into it more closely. I do need to up the ante for the tiny pots when I get back to it after vacation.

When I make my next cup of cannabis stem tea I'll use a mint tea bag. :laughtwo: At 2:00 in the morning, that didn't occur to me. LOL!

Good morning, friends.

Something to enjoy as I wake myself up and get back to the thrill of tending to the likes of these.

Carnival (Day 124)

image3496.jpeg

Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia (Day 42) This mistaken genetics is one of my favorite smokes and, although it's an auto I need to find a way to clone it.

image3497.jpeg

Let me get myself more awake here so I can actually function. :battingeyelashes:

Nice recipe Sue. I believe i might give it a shot sometime. I did try to make some tea about a week ago using a little sample bud and coconut oil in a saucepan. It was the nastiest thing ive ever drank, and the only effect that i felt was gastric discomfort, lol. Thanks for the post.

p.s. The Carnival is looking soo good!

Good morning Sue,
Great update as always and it is quiet obvious why you were nominated as MoTM.
Such a positive lady:Love:
Though it is people like you who make voting so hard, you are all so deserving I have no idea who to vote for, because I really  you all.
I spent all day yesterday trying to come up with a way to eliminate the field down and so far I was only able to get it down to a mere 6 deserving candidates.
You all inspire me to be positive, to be a better human being, I only wish I could somehow, just this one time, vote for only 6 people instead of just one. On the positive side, in a month I get to go through this all over again :yikes:

It is tough voting. I think long and hard every month myself, and this field was by no means easy. Every one of those guys puts so much of themselves into this site. Sometimes I feel like we should just play a giggly game of "Duck, Duck Goose,". :laughtwo:

Morning, Sue! There's always something wonderful to see and hear and do in this thread! Your tea adventures intrigue me strangely ... :)

Have a great day!

Give it a try when you jar your buds up. Save all your stems. If you don't use them to do something as easy as this zippy stem tea, they also come in real handy for smoking meats and infusing oils. There's so much more value to the stems than one would think. You have to remember that every tiny bit of these plants that rises above the dirt is covered with trichomes. Waste nothing. Leaves can be juiced or baked as shake. Buds can be baked, smoked, to make tinctures, used to infuse oils, ..... The possibilities to use every inch of the plant feel limitless.

I, personally, keep trying to eat more of the plant material. I'm convinced that's a secret we haven't fully explored. I'm gonna be a brownie girl to the end baby! :laughtwo:

i'll let you know when i get the tissue culture 'book' up and running. gonna be playing around with auto's down the road if the early trials are a success. i'm thinking if there is a way to reset the genetic timer.. that may be the ticket.

This would be fabulous! Wow! The implications...

Staying ahead of the game.

Time for another batch of brownies, this one made with the White Widow harvest. She's down another 3 grams, but she's definately dry enough to use in a batch.

image3538.jpeg

I took a guess at it and cut. This part becomes brownies.

image3545.jpeg

This part hangs to dry another day and then gets jarred until the next batch of brownies gets baked.

image3546.jpeg

Trimmed off the stem, it needed what was left of Kalashnikova Auto to get up to 8 grams going into the oven to decarb.

image3547.jpeg

Possibly my favorite part is hand-rubbing it down to a fine powder after it's been decarbed. There's nothing quite like playing in a pile of powdered cannabis buds. :laughtwo:

image3550.jpeg

It occured to me before I started that since I ingest my meds in the daily brownies, there was no need to trim these at all, beyond removal of big fans or damaged leaves. Look at that - life just got simpler. Hahaha!

image3551.jpeg

They remind me of the little cabbage-like buds I got from my Buddha Magnum Auto.

image3552.jpeg

This little piece wasn't decarbed. I kept it aside to test after I get done with tent responsibilities.

image3553.jpeg

image75.png

Ok. I haven't been in the tent yet, so that's where I'm going next.

I assume your day is progressing with joy and expectation? Remember, it's the expectation that brings the sizzle to the dance of life. I like to expect the best and brightest each day can hold. To be honest, today I expect to find time to take a nice cat nap.

I think I just need more of that delicious coffee with chicory. That sure has grown on me. Not a coffee many of you would care for, I'm sure. A lot bolder than average. It was interesting watching my taste buds change the preference so quickly. Change is good. It keeps the brain evolving and evolution is always a good thing, no? :battingeyelashes:

I'm off to the tent. :ciao:

Just voted for you Mon tite fillè. Good luck!
You deserve it...

Thank you mon ami. I'm touched. :battingeyelashes:

The process makes me a bit nervous. :laughtwo:

Dark Devil Auto (Day 82)

She got her first CAT drench today.

image3556.jpeg

I believe this is what they're speaking of when they say "a wave of new pistils"?

image3557.jpeg

image3558.jpeg

Today was her first CAT. This is the starting point.

image3559.jpeg

image3562.jpeg

image3563.jpeg

She keeps getting chunkier. I won't complain. :battingeyelashes:

image3582.jpeg

Another four day supply. Ahead of the game. Out of the street market. Good things. :battingeyelashes:
