That you'd even consider yourself potentially forgettable tickles me. :laughtwo: You've been missed. Welcome back to my yard. :hugs:

Great stuff Sue. So basically instead of letting the water we wash rice in go down the drain, save it. Are the same microorganisms present in Brown Rice? That's what we eat. (Wow, I'm starting to understand the science of growing a tad bit. I used the word "microorganisms"):geek:

Morning Sue. It occurred to me that I'm going to have to pick up a few extra journals to follow when you downsize. The sheer number of pics that comes from you is astounding.

:green_heart:

Rad once posted something similar about my last journal LOL! I keep trying to reign back Heirloom, but the camera takes on a mind of its own. :laughtwo: You should post those photos one at a time. Takes me the greater part of the day to get through sometimes.

I'm assuming you followed the link and read his instructions on making the serum? Yes, you can use any rice. This first step is that simple. It'll sit until it separates into three layers and I'll extract the middle layer to make the serum.

I'm proud of you Reg, for not only catching the science, but in vocabulary enhancement. :battingeyelashes: We'll be calling you "Professor" soon. I personally like the sound of "Master" better. It tends to fit our current assessment of you. We do all stand a bit in awe of you, you know.

:hugs:

Have a wonderful day Reg. :circle-of-love:

Lactobacillis serum? Can't you just feed it a little yoghurt? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Carnival is still my favorite! I wish I could get my environment under control as well as you have. :thumb:

Morning Sue.
Y'all started early...

Morning Cajun. Daylight savings time. It throws everyone off. I was out at the dentist anyway. Sorry I missed you mon ami but glad to get those impressions out of the way. I need some food. And coffee. And brownies. I need to bake brownies today, so that Super Silver Haze gets decarbed as soon as I get home with the coffee beans.

I feel out of sorts without brownies. How am I going to deal with two month without? Sometimes this "blessing and a curse" thing just sucks. :laughtwo: I keep getting to the finish line and life gets wonky.

Start with food. With coffee.

Edit: We never stop here Cajun. :laughtwo:

Thanks for the vote of confidence Major. You work in that challenging space. Eventually you'll work that out.

I'm out for coffee beans today but I grabbed a couple teaser shots of Carnival and the tent. Enjoy.

I'm loving your auto-correct. I've had my coffee. Time for my teaser .... but I'm bypassing my tent

I edited the post immediately but I knew I wasn't going to be faster than you. :laughtwo:

Yes he is Canna. The information he offers on his site is invaluable.

SEEKING ADVICE

I have three branches on Jamaican Dream dying off. Have no idea why. Any ideas? Should I just cut them off now and spare the plant the energy drain?

Wow Sue I have never seen that before. If I saw that on a plant I would cut below the wounds, wear gloves, bag them immediately and throw it away without hesitation. Ugh...the dreaded "pink stem"!

I just wouldn't want it to spread. Thought I had seen it all. The xylem and phloem in those branches cant be functioning well. Better to save the rest of the plant and get rid of those branches.

My guess would be fungal. any possiblilty of overly wet roots?

That is infection, if Im not mistaken. It is weird that it has appeared in those three branches. Did you have problems with bugs previously? Maybe the branches got damaged somehow and caught the infection. That is something you dont see everyday!

Good morning Sue,
Now that you have photo documentation to ask what is it, Those 3 branches need to go bye-bye before it has a chance to spread to the main trunk, if it already hasn't. As for what is it? Well smarter growers then me will have to answer that one for you, but if it was me, I would be cutting her back as close to the trunk as I could to avoid any chance of it spreading to the main trunk. Then I would quarantine her as best as possible for a few days and check her and any other plants which were near her for more signs. While it is great to be able to say, yep thats what it is , for a fact it is XYZ, if you just can't diagnose it, quarantine it so it does not have a chance to spread. Better safe and loose a plant then wrong and loose a crop.

Hope it all goes well other then that
