The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

image34126.jpg

I always had a suspicion that FDR was a closet toker. Now we know. :)

Are you implying that any of us here are actually capable of keeping up with you?

Sure we follow as best we can, but keeping up with you would be like trying to chase down a meteorite moving at 100x the speed of sound. LOL!!
:laughtwo:

You're too cute UncleCannabis. :laughtwo: Ironically, this change was supposed to simplify the process. Silly me, I got carried away and expanded coverage. What's a girl to do? I start the day at a full run and keep the pace up all day.

In truth, I'm having so much fun it might be sinful. :battingeyelashes:

I typed that whole post with Supertramp pounding away on "The Logical Song" at full blast. I don't know how my brain can do that. And for those of you familiar with The Autobiography of Supertramp know that it just cascaded into "Bloody Well Right". Whew!! Sweet transitions.

Sorry guys, got lost in the music. I'm going back in. This album requires movement. Some mighty fine music. :ciao:

I love your photos, Sue. So crisp and tactile -- I almost feel like I'm there :) For sure, Uncle Cannabis, Sue moves at the speed of weed :)

Zippy sativas glimmergrass. I roll out of bed and down a full gram of Sativa-stuffed brownies.

Thank you for the kind words. The camera loves the plants. To be honest, I point and shoot. My daughter taught me to trust the eye. My subject matter makes it easy to get it right. I use either my iPhone or iPad. I don't own a camera.

I used to demo stereo systems with Supertramp - nice crisp production, great dynamic range - they were a good band in their day. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:thumb:

They found their way onto the playlist tonight. Earbuds were such a wonderful invention. I haven't listened to this in over five years. Good stuff. This one used to be a regular in the tattoo studio.

Don't slow down the pace, just don't be expecting us to keep up. We're all somewhere back there in the dust cloud trying to catch up with you. LOL!!

The hallways here at 420mag would be much too quite w/o our SweetSue buzzing around at the speed of good weed keeping things fun and interesting.

"Smoking cannabis really DOES make people lazy because it affects the area of the brain responsible for motivation" (www dailymail co uk)

Sue Sue Sue you have obviously not read and understood! How do you expect the community at large to reconcile "scientific findings" with reality if you don't start conforming? Shheeesh! Some people .

DON'T EVER CONFORM :)

Seems very appropriate if you've ever seen their album cover, "Supertramp Indelibly Stamped".

I remember the very first songs I heard in a Walkman when I was a kid were Supertramp's "dreamer", and ELO "livin' thing." It blew my mind how these new stereo headphones were so much better than my mono mushroom ear bud in my tape recorder, you know the ones with the handle, big buttons and 5" single mono speaker lol. My life was changed forever and those two bands were a great way to be introduced to the new technology. (Ugh just realized I am getting older than I'd like!) thanks for the reminder Sue and Graytail!

It warms my heart to know you feel this way. I've grown quite fond of these virtual streets. Feels like home. :battingeyelashes:

I would think the cup they live in lends scale to the picture? :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hahaha! My first thought, but he wanted coinage for the dramatic effect, and I understood that implication. We're a visual medium. :battingeyelashes:

Wow! I did miss that memo. Huh! :laughtwo: They must be talking bag weed.

Thanks for the pics of Thunderpaws 8-). Looks great, healthy and nice and compact.

Thank you, for the opportunity to grow such vigorous specimens. I do hope at least one presents as female. These are beauties OG.

Rolled out of bed, unzipped the tent and I've not stopped since. I need brownie, coffee, oatmeal. Let's get this day started.

"I could have been a famous singer if I had someone else's voice, but failure's always sounded better. Let's F**K IT UP BOYS

MAKE SOME NOISE!!!!!!!!!!!

Are we awake now? :battingeyelashes:

Not older ShiggityFlip, better. You missed that memo. We grow better. I , for one, started growing younger about two years ago and kept the photographic evidence. :laughtwo:

Welcome to my journal ShiggityFlip. I noticed you lurking yesterday and wondered how long it would take you to step out of the edges and join the conversation. I look forward to getting to know you better. Shove someone over and pass to the left.

:passitleft:

I swear, this is the most beautiful plant. Graytail, I know you're famous for those beauties you grow, but Baby, I think I may give you a run for your money somewhere in the future.

Too bold? Too soon? Get over it. :laughtwo: I love you Graytail. Don't forget that.

Jar It Up!!! Buddha Tahoe OG

image34172.jpg

Grown in less than 1/2 gallon of Living Organic Soil under 11/13 lighting. Not bad, considering, eh?

image34173.jpg

Enough for half a batch of brownies from this take and a sweet little collection growing behind the curtain. I need two batches of brownies a week. In order for this to work I need to get between 14-28 grams from a plant if I'm running just small plants. This cycle was to see what the challenges would be. Now we tweak to increase yield and potency.

Today's cannabis batch for the next pan of brownies is a mix. I have some Cheese Candy, a bit of Auto Jack Herer, a little African Buzz and a smidgen of Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia. Mixing them is supposed to increase potency, isn't it? I didn't do it for that effect, although I won't shy away from more buzz, but rather to keep from using all of any one up.

image34174.jpg

Here we go. All decarbed and ready to powder. Means I get to lick it off my palms and fingers when I'm done. :battingeyelashes: Mmmmmmm......

image34175.jpg

It'll be a relief to bring in a couple big girls to get adequate stocks for brownies. I mean, I have adequate stocks, but I want to hang onto some of it. It's still early enough for me that I have that apprehension about running out. I wanna be able to jump up and down again and laugh about having

:yahoo: "Jars of it!!!" :slide:

There. Had to make that bigger. :blunt:

SweetSue's Eureka! Moment

You've all listened to me bellyache about my inability to come to peace with the Kit in a way that would mean not converting all of my soil over to LOS when I've harvested the third run. I've been searching for a way to explain my conviction that working in LOS is obviously easier. About five minutes ago, right smack in the middle of an unrelated conversation, it jelled.

With the Kit you're growing individual plants in a highly controlled matrix. The plant isn't going to survive and thrive without the drenches and foliars because you're controlling that availability and encouraging particular choices and actions. You can tell I find the process intriguing. I have three runs to familiarize myself. It's an interesting universe.

But each plant has its drench on its own schedule. They run out as individuals and you can't count on those three getting to the CAT on the same day now, can you? Be honest now. It's not a bad thing at all. Look at the damn plants. I've never been in the presence of so many incredible plants at one time, and I'm talking about both soils. These Kit plants are something special, but again, must be treated as individuals.

The LOS no-till gardener loaded up that soil and amends it with a schedule of teas and drenches meant to slowly but consistently replenish stores for the community at large. We feel assured that the nutrients are not only in there, but available. We build soil communities meant to strengthen over time. We also hope to cultivate a healthy community of worms to keep that plot of soil tilled without our interference. We want to really get out of the way and let the soil do the work. We brew a tea or mix a drench and every pot there gets some of it regardless of who's growing there and regardless of the time of life the plant is in. If we're going to bump anything we're more likely to do so with a minimal topdress with some exciting vermicompost.

But we're feeding the soil and it all gets the same treatment. I'm not suggesting that sometimes a cultivator might not tweak a tea or drench for a particular additive, or time an application in hopes of influencing .........;

And there you have it. An LOS cultivator hopes to influence. A cultivator using the Kit works to master the applications to match the particular plants being grown because he or she accepts that they are God here. You better learn to relax and let it happen or your plants will pay the price. I believe my no-till, sitting on its SWICK would survive catastrophic illness on my part. I know it survived the death spiral of my beloved and delivered Dark Devil Auto. What better testimony can I offer than that?

Want to grow unbelievable plants with such little effort that it's almost laughable how much fun it is? I recommend a well thought out LOS no-till and some good lights.

Want to grow some of the most beautiful, vibrant and exciting specimens of your life? Choose either of these methods. They have comparable set-up costs. If I were being honest, it probably costs more to set up my no-tills. That initial cost is the final cost. I run it indefinitely. The minimal cost of amending is ....well, minimal. :laughtwo: The Kit runs three cycles and then it's recommended you begin anew. Again, soil I have to repurpose - the very thing that keeps me from PeeJay's incredible mix. Well, guano makes me nervous from an ecological standpoint, but that's workable. Anyway.... you guys keep letting me wander. :laughtwo:

So: Want incredible? Choose either. Evidence shows trichomes may tilt in favor of the Kit. I say might because, well, 36Gr0w. There.

Want real easy? LOS no-till.

That's all. I need to run to the store for caramel brownie mix. Yummy!!! :laughtwo:

I'm on my way to the store. I really have to go. :laughtwo: Distractions.

On my way out I swung past the Subscriptions page. I have 99 journals with new comments. Obviously over extended.

But as I quickly scroll down I notice that I recognize each and every one of you as individuals and you all elicit a warm sense of friendship. I just wanted to step back in and say how thankful I am to have met each of you. I'm so sorry I can't be everywhere at once. I try hard, just can't run that fast and still do all this. But I love you all. :hugs:

Gotta run. :ciao:

Daily Drenches: Carnival

I'll get the rest later. This morning, obviously thirsty and right on schedule for once. Good girl. :cheesygrinsmiley:
