The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Nice update Sweetsue. Lil Devil she is....she's gonna mess you up SS.;) Have an awesome night eh!

One can only hope, eh Duggan? She is just encrusting herself in trichomes! It's the most amazing thing to watch. Wait until I have a whole TRAY of these little darlings. Hahaha! Can't stop laughing about that. :laughtwo:

It sits about 27", if memory serves me right. I recall measuring and being satisfied, so it's somewhere between 27-30".

Don't think of it as being lazy. Think of it as being too busy to remember all this about everyone's journals. I follow way too many myself, but who would I pass up? I don't mind you asking. It saved you having to dig.

I'm curious to see that too Boogyman. Did you check out the fan and filter? Can't recommend them enough. I have it running continuous now, at about 70%, and it's so quiet you wouldn't believe it. It's keeping the tent a nice 81 degrees right now.

Ok, on to the business at hand.

Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto - Day 66

SUNSHINE TODAY!! WooHoo!! I was so excited to see the sun break through the clouds just as I got home from staying with him in the hospital again and opened the tent. I took it as a sign and carried her out to the balcony to bask while I took some shots.

It's been two days since the enzyme tea and I see new pistils shooting out all over this baby!

image25968.jpg

Everywhere in the plant - new pistils. Yeah!

Enough dallying, time to get back to life and responsibility.

Looking at this next one reminded me - gnats are almost entirely gone. Tomorrow I'm going to sprinkle some limestone powder on all the LOS pots and water in lightly every day.

The Cheese Candy felt she got overlooked in yesterday's update, so I promised her a special show. She's at Day 15.

I topped off the Devil's reservoir and put about a quart on the SWICK tray. Then I took the risers out from under the kit soil pots and set them on the perlite again. They'll stay there overnight.

They were looking a bit peaked when I started so I mixed up a quart of water with an ounce of DeStress and gave all the seedlings 1/4 cup, slowly ladled on. The rest went into the refrigerator until next time. That DeStress smells nice. I'll have to give it another sniff. It says kelp, but it can barely detect it. I just went and stuck my nose in the bottle again, and I gotta say, not an unpleasant smell at all.

I'll take another picture before I go to see how they look after the DeStress and after they started to water themselves. I'll post it on my way back to the hospital. I'll stay one more night with him. Tomorrow they have a heart cath scheduled, possibly a stent. All this is beginning to shake him a bit, so I'm taking baked buds - the very last we have. That THC Bomb Auto got impressively more potent as it cured, and it was good to begin with. A sweet strain, pretty well geared to me. I'll have to grow it again in better soil, which means anytime, since the no-till gets stronger every cycle. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Alright guys. Get out there and spread that joy. Have a wonderful day.

So.. I dont mean this as criticism, because its not, but I notice this plant is far and away smaller than your first two. Why is this? The strain, your lighting technique, a combination?

Also, what is your thinking with lights, what is it... 13/11 or something like that? Why did you choose it and what are the benefits of it? Are you planning to continue to use it?

I hope you dont mind me digging around in your brain a little.

And, of course, it goes without saying that your Devil especially looks good enough to smoke! :)

Ahem ... DeStress is a foliar, not a drench ...

Did you, by any chance, mean Transplant?

Seedlings, following DeStress. Should have taken a before picture. You'll have to take my word for it. They all perked up, even the Cheese Candy in the LOS pot. She's just happier. :laughtwo:

Everyone's happy. :green_heart:

Ummmm.....yeah. DeStress is a Foliar spray, not a drench. Please do not use it as a drench, it is not designed for that, neither should it be used in that fashion. You should have given them a very light misting of DeStress with a sprayer, definitely not a drench.

I don't think they'll look too nice if you don't let them dry out between waterings at least once or twice.

Sorenna, the stunted vertical growth and overall size is caused by the lighting, which I'm running at 11 on, 13 off to mimic the tropical schedule. DrZiggy and I are exploring the terpene expressions on this light schedule. See, I used to think it was all about smoking. Boy, was I uneducated! :laughtwo: Now I'm playing with terpene expression and researching cannabanoids.

The 11/13 lighting will cause some anticipated results.
- You save on energy cost
- Everyone gets the same time in the light. Doesn't matter if you're germinating, vegging or flowering. The light schedule never changes.
- You only need one space.
- Apparently the plants act like autos, including the faster finish, so more frequent harvests.
- Since the plants will be stunted in growth you can use smaller pots, so more variety can fit into the space.
- Perfumes and flavors undergo changes and express in new and unexpected ways. Added mystery!

There may be a couple other reasons. DrZiggy may toss his two cents in. You've seen his tent, haven't you Sorenna?

This tiny dancer is half the size of her predecessors. She's every bit as lovely in her petite, pixie kind of way, and she's growing some dense flowers coming into the end. I'm happy with her. I'm hoping to give her a decent cure before she's needed. It could get close.

They did dry out Doc. That was why I put them on the SWICK for an overnight. Tomorrow I'll lift them again. I could have sworn the bottle said drench as well. My mistake, and noted for future reference. No harm done. So we should attribute they're response to finding water?

Hey sue, gonna check that fan out now. What was the price for the whole fan filter setup?

It was $157 plus shipping. In my case that took me to $171.50. The speed controller was around $20.

Yep. If they were dry and needed water it was good you watered them.

Drenches: Transplant, Growth Energy, Cat Drench
Foliar sprays: DeStress, Brix
Myco/humate: Tea
Myco/rockpowder: Roots!
Minerals: Amendment, Recharge.

One watering with the DeStress won't hurt much, but it won't do much either.

There isn't enough time to apologize to you for making such a glaring rookie mistake. It shows an appalling lack of preparation, and you are certainly used to more diligence from your growers. I assure you, I will make sure this type of mistake won't happen again.

No excuses, I take full responsibility. In the over all scheme of what's on my plate leading into tomorrow, one misguided drench with DeStress is not going to make any difference at all. It will, however, wake my foggy brain up. You can expect better as I move forward.

No problem. I think you'll be very happy with how things go on your first High Brix grow.
