The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

So I revised the design. Turns out, running one vertically was a really good idea. I can get away with just pinning the Velcro strips in for now, since I'm still refining the design and don't have a sewing machine. Hand sewing that Velcro in would be a serious pain on my fingers.

Once it's pinned in place (I was careful to bury the points into the back of the Velcro) simply close it up and let it grip.

Add a strap at the top and you're done!

Everyone's modified now. I have the parts cut for the next four to be ready for the transplanting that will occur sometime in.the next couple weeks.

Oh, and MassMedMan - thanks. I'm flattered. I admire everything you touch.

My eyes are really tired from these new glasses. I need to rest them for a bit. Think I'll take some "relaxation" time and mellow out for a while. I'll be checking in. :ciao:

A dear friend found out I was struggling to keep up with my med needs so he gifted me a decent amount of homegrown. Right out of left field on that one guys. Didn't see it coming at all. So now, I have JARS OF IT!!! :yahoo:

Isn't life amazing? :laughtwo:

Ask a mod.

Going to have to...

I can see your gallery, i think?
Heirloom >>I will try to PM you the link I am looking at <<

Yep, that's my gallery. I'm on yet another computer and this one shows the gallery, still won't upload. Thanks kelticBlue.

After you select the files to upload and you wait for all to finish, are you hitting the process button at the bottom of the screen?

Yeah. And it says please wait...then says my image was uploaded successfully. Then goes to the gallery. When I'm lucky my old pics are there, but no new upload. If it uploaded, it didn't end up in my gallery. Thanks Major PITA.

It most certainly is! Thank you anonymous! We like SweetSue best when she's stoned.

Do you know of any HB Kit growers who have worms? I've asked a couple times and never really got much response. It occurs to me that the absence of something as critical to traditional soil health as worms should make us pause. Not stop what we're doing, mind you, because none of us is going to give this Kit up. Just being honest.

But the absence of worms suggests other anomalies to what we LOS gardeners think of as soil. I'm sure there are biological actions going on in LOS that would amaze us if we could see it all happen. The differences in the soils is intriguing as hell, isn't it? Because they both work, and once you get either of them clicking smoothly, they hum they're so happy.

Sorry, I get really passionate about soil. I drifted right into a ramble there. :laughtwo:

Pardon me, miss, but weren't you supposed to be our DBHBB+WORMS+CLOVER pioneer?

I know I know ... alot was going on, but now? Ya have all the materials. Its summer and worms are available for the picking . . .

ps. I killed my worms too ... twice. Third time lucky is on my list of things to do.

pps. I hear earthworms are closest to the surface after midnight ....

Hi Sue,

I just noticed the classic Ball jars are now appearing at my local grocery store, since canning season is only weeks away....I doubt you can buy them one or two at a time tho, they are usually packaged by the dozen.....

Might I suggest for your purpose, a spaghetti jar, or a peanut butter, pickle, or mayo jar...something you already have on hand that you can run thru the dish washer? The biggest requirement is the airtight screw top.....

Pickle jar of trim, Sphaghetti jar of cola, Cookie jar of bud. ... we always keeps our eyes out on refrigerator cleaning and thrift store days :)

Doc wanted me to play by the rules first run and then introduce things like living mulch later. I'd actually forgotten about that. A lot was going on I guess. Again, have you an answer to the question? I'm not certain the drenches are worm friendly.

I was thinking about trying worms again, but the carnage has to stop somewhere and Worm Power is such a superior vermicompost. Why flirt with disaster again? The worms deserve better.

My eyes are so tired from wearing these new glasses. My body is beat from not getting to bed last night. I'm already nodding off, so let me say goodnight and try to avoid the settings page. :laughtwo:

Good night.

Mmm Mmm!

Came home from work to a nice surprise today:

The Missus (off work today) made a batch of wonderful "Maple syrup - pecan - bubbelicious pastries" for movie night at home :)

Sharing some with you :)

You should share that on Cannafan's Edibles thread. That looks and sounds absolutely yummy.

Love those lil fans you have sue, where can I get hold of those?

Target carries them this time of the year in prep for the beginning of the new collegiate school year. Snap them up now. They have a USB plug too.

Re: Bubbles... what are they good for?

I'm not totally familiar with SWICK but I think so. I just thought that as the roots went down they wouldn't just drown.

Very thoughtful of you. :loopy:
