The Joy Of Growing - SweetSue Goes Perpetual

Thanks Sue. :Namaste:

I am thinking of going to bed-bath and somewhere beyond for Jars. Any recommendations or other ideas for storage?

How many grams fit in an average jar, quart size? 8oz? I am only harvesting one plant at at time but I will plan on having leftover from one to another.
{{{{{{Honestly I do not know where I would store 12 jars}}}}} :rofl:

Susan if I may,

I got all my jars from Target or Walmart. I got various sizes for various reasons. To answer your questions though:

I can get about 2 ounces in a pickle jar sized jar (that made sense, yes?). That's leaving about an inch and a half of air at the top.

I got different sizes so I can pull out different amounts a different times. While letting the remainder keep curing while you smoke little bits at a time. Also, I find it easier to maintain humidity in smaller jars. But that's a preference. Oh yea and mold, heaven forbid you get mold during the cure process if you have smaller jars, the issue could be contained. But with a careful eye, the size of the jar doesn't matter. Whichever fits your style.

I probably rambled a bit there. :bong::cough:

Hi Sue,

I just noticed the classic Ball jars are now appearing at my local grocery store, since canning season is only weeks away....I doubt you can buy them one or two at a time tho, they are usually packaged by the dozen.....

Might I suggest for your purpose, a spaghetti jar, or a peanut butter, pickle, or mayo jar...something you already have on hand that you can run thru the dish washer? The biggest requirement is the airtight screw top.....

It's the enhanced depth perception. Like everything's more 3-dimensional. Is it possible my sight was so compromised and no one noticed? Maybe it's just the eyes adjusting to the new prescription. First thing I thought when I put them on was, "Am I really THAT high?" :19;

I use Yankee candle and douwe egberts coffee jars. They do the trick for me

I use Ball or Kerr large mouth quart and half gallon with 2 piece lids for storage. Long term storage I use the 2-way humidipaks at 62%.

You can try a thrift store or something similar for finding one or two at a time.

Wish I could upload photos. Funny thing is it tells me they upload successfully, but it's a lie. Or maybe I'm :loopy: .

Are you working on a mobile device that requires you to load them one at a time? If you are and they load in anywhere other than the top choice it won't show up. Drove me crazy for a couple weeks until I figured that out. It kept saying they were processed but then they weren't there.

It was a good ramble Pigeons. You guys know I love a good ramble. This is me, remember? Queen of the ramble? :laughtwo:

Another beautiful day at SweetSue's,I see. The girls are looking delicious! Yumm! :drool:

Good afternoon Magic. It's always a joy to see you pop up. Thank you, they smell all kinds of yummy! LOL!!

Nope. I've tried on two desktops and a laptop. Also tried one at a time. I swear my gallery is broken. I can't even access it to view my photos going back to 2012. I know they're there. They are still in my old posts a journal. I can view others galleries, not my own. It's a head scratcher. :hmmmm:

Great job on the sewing Sue, and the update a few pages ago was great. Your journals are such a treasure for 420 mag. :Love:

I loved Rascio's post about terpenes a couple pages back, I also have a thing for fresh buds. I really am glad I paid attention to Lester's love of his Extreme Q Arizer vape and ordered one, you can harvest and vaporize that harvest immediately if you feel like it in one. It won't taste bad, just a bit wet. better after a day or two of drying, but even when its fully dried I don't think it compares to the taste at day 2-day 7. Just let it heat up to ~180-185 degrees C and warm up a bit with the buds chopped/ground up inside. My OG Kush has a lot of turpentine flavor to it, and I noticed that dissipated after a while in the jar...I'd suspected it was changing into a more complex terpene, but now I'm sure of it. Terpenes are fascinating :) I want to learn much more about them. :volcano-smiley:

Look at how easy this is going to be to modify and how much easier to sew. :laughtwo:

I tore the verticle seam out and simply used three Velcro straps to hold it closed. I have lots of straps and access to more if I need. I still need to repair the top seam, but other than than short job, this pot is ready to go and only took about ten minutes, including the repaired seam.

:slide:

The inspiration was greatly appreciated. :Love:

There's so much more I want to learn SoilGirl and I feel like I'm running to catch up with it sometimes. Periods like last night when a couple of us start to put pieces together and tear off in different directions to seek and find, then converge and spit it all back out? God, I love times like that. I think I'm happiest tearing through research materials trying to make sense of it. I love waking up after a spell like that to the inevitable "Of Course!" moment after your brain processed it while you slept.

What a rush! :laughtwo:

After you select the files to upload and you wait for all to finish, are you hitting the process button at the bottom of the screen?

My plan was to run it verticle, but once I had it open it became obvious this was the best way to do it. So simple and so easy to open partially, if need be. Those straps hold firm too.
