Daily Update: Perpetual Tent - Week 11, Day 7
Maintenance notes:
- Started the day with a 1/4Trans/water drench for African Buzz.
And then there was this concern.
- Watered all the seedlings. These high temps are drying them out faster. They look good though, so no worries.
Into the tent we go.
African Buzz at Day 73 now. Plugging away like a trooper. I can see trichomes starting to build now. Cool.
Cheese Candy at Day 74 and purring away. I snipped a small bud. I want to quick taste this one. Every time I bump my fingers against her they come away smelling like candy.
Looking at that last picture I can understand one of the reasons heat is building up. The intake flap back there is still completely closed! Details, Susan. Pay attention to the small details please.
Auto Destroyer, also at Day 74 and still pushing out a reasonable amount on new pistils. She has further to go than I thought a few days ago. These buds she's building are solid as a rock! Compressed as they can be, stacked so tight I can't believe it.
The LOS seedlings: Buddha Tahoe OG in the front and just up this morning, Strawberry Blue to the left (Day 11), New Year's Bag Seed to the right (Day 4).
HB Kit Seedlings: Auto Jack Herer to the back, (Day 11) and Auto Jock Horror x Auto Amnesia (Day 3).
A picture to show a seedling drooping before getting watered. See? I can do this.
The Tiny Closet
I know I'm not imagining it. The seedlings growing out here, with only CFLs and with 18 hours on instead of 11, are much tighter in node development. Much tighter. I'm not sure if that's a function of the decreased light or the addition of all the ambient LED lighting, which shouldn't effect the tent seedlings at all, I would think. It must be the increased light schedule.
Afghani #1 (Day 12) and #3 (Day 11).
Carnival (I always hear that as "Car-nee-
vaul!") at Day 10 and Afghani #2 at Day 11.
After I got this typed in I went to attend to the vents. Not as easy as it sounds. The shelf under the workbench is packed with tools I now need to find a new home for. It was a small cleaning job just to get it clear enough to get back there.
I climbed under the workbench and wiggled my way back to pull that cover off.
Then I went to the other side of the tent and did the same thing, moving the curtain that was hanging there and blocking the intake. * Sigh * It's OK Susan. You caught it early. That's a good thing.
(Does anyone else always hear Martha Stewart say that inside their head? "It's a good thing." Hahaha!)
I checked the house thermometer, and I'm sitting at 86 degrees in the dark hallway. Not a healthy thing for human or cannabis. I closed the windows and kicked on the air. I'll have to hope this works, because in 5 minutes its lights off and the tent needs closed up. I'll check the tent again before then.
Well, I got this done before 5 PM, so I'm proud of myself. Had a wonderful late breakfast with an old workmate (we worked side-by-side for nine years, so she's like family now) and strolled along the river with her then came back here to rest before she had to go to work. It's nice having a friend over. It's been too many years, and I'm going to have to let myself become a social butterfly again. I'm still adapting to the idea that the place is all mine and mine alone. That'll take me a couple more months. I have a room full of hobby tools and supplies, mostly geared to model trains in exotic scales (look up t-gauge - Dale did nothing halfway) that needs redirected to more appropriate homes to get taken care of before I'm going to begin to identify it completely as my own space. In time. One little bite at a time.
Have a wonderful rest of your Saturday everyone. The air has been running for about 40 minutes now. I checked the tent about 4:10 and it was beginning to drop.
I'll assume that as the ambient temperature in the apartment falls so will the interior temperatures of the tent. It's worth remembering Susan that the ambient temperature of your living quarters will determine the interior temperature of your tent. Just sayin'.
Be joyful in your daily path. Have a great time with it. Be childlike in wonder. You know it'll be good for the soul and benefit everyone who comes in contact with you today. But do it for yourself, because it feels wonderful.
