The Hexapus's Garden

He'll just grow some more if he doesn't..

Nah, actually, I couldn't get those damn things to even root- not even with three months of my tender loving care in the pot. They're a bit like my clone cuttings that way actually.
The coin didn't lie Kriaze - the timing was perfect. The biggest buds were all at about maximum ripeness and like I suspected mould was starting to get a foothold in that dead sugar leaf in the bud. It was just starting, with only a few discoloured spots.
Definitely the stickiest Mama Thai I've grown yet, and I got enough scissor hash along the way to keep morale nice and high.

hey folks , i think i might have a little mold on a cola ... chem dog # 4 harvested sept. 15th dried to the snap of the stem ....i placed them in mason jars and burped them for about 10 days they were then placed in mason back in jars to cure. i was checking on them today and noticed only on my 8'' cola (still feels damp to the touch)that is in its own mason jar seems to have a cottony , spider web look to it in spots. this was the one that i mentioned in this thread that after a few days burping got kind of re hydrated ...... the advice given was to keep up the burping which i did. anyone have something like this ??? is it mold ? if so what can i do ........ i have already cut it into 8, 1 inch pieces and placed them in separate mason jars....... thanks :Namaste:

If it feels damp to the touch and it's sealed in a jar then it's danger of getting mouldy for sure. Bud rot has a way of attracting moisture, so it creates its own slimy little environment. You did the right thing by breaking it up into smaller bits. Let them dry out a bit before jarring again. I recommend you pick up some hygrometers as I mentioned last time - takes away the guessing and after a while you will know how to do it by feel.

@ weasel , thank you my friend ........ i am guessing that it is a good idea to cut the cola into smaller buds to allow proper drying ......

heya weaseley,, cheers friend,, sending best karma of all time yer way , be there soon,,

just a hello and a short chat and a q or two and some pics,, that's it,, fer now

dern mold eh?? i have had two recent mold issues,, both from outside plants,, yukky stuff indeed,, i wonder,, do you think baking the stuff,, decarbing it essentially,, will that kill the mold ya think?? only 220 degrees or so tho,, not sure,, i chucked mine, both times,, was only a small amount, so no worries,, but can be devastating, i know

so, a q,, about male flowers,, iffin ya don't mind,,

we have chatted about this recently,, but if i can clarify a couple things, would help me,, so,, i have been hermie free for most of the year,, yay,, i worked hard to get that way, but recently i have been having a seed eruption, specially with one plant, and a plant next to it,, but darned if i could find any male flowers, none, nadda, nowhere to be seen,, i never did find one male flower,, but seeds were present,, so,,

i harvested this one 'cheese' plant,, and inside i found some 'nanners',, now you have talked about this,, 'nanners',, are they a different flower type than regular male flowers?? nanners,, i know all pollen comes from nanner type pods, but these are different,, hidden amongst the clusters of buds,, not visible at all,, dropping bits of pollen here and there,, mostly on itself,, but a bit spreading out,, is this just a normal flower but hidden? every hermie i have ever seen, maybe, have been visible flowers,, or maybe they have not?? i have been fooled perhaps,,

anyway,, curious about your mama thai/thai stick plant,, i think you had one,, i was curious about you flowering time, how long it was,,my first one was ready in 74 days,, looked ready to me,, this latest one went 79 days,, what an effin great plant this is,, you have opened up the best of the best to me,, so appreciated friend,, thank you

this be the biggest bud, of the second recently harvested mama thai/thai stick plant,, no bulk but legs that go on forever,, ya,,

P1160886.JPG

and simply smothered in thai stick glory,, oh me oh my,, so fine,,

P1160888.JPG

this plant takes 15 to 20 percent longer to mature than some,, but produces 20 to 30 percent more gold..no genius necessary here my friend

this one will be in my brood for as long as i can keep er,, tho i am presently without a confirmed female,, two plants growing,, maybe both female,,

yahooooo

i have been venturing into the oil industry as well,, will be big as petro canada soon,, ha,,

P1160889.JPG

first attempt on top,, second, latest attempt at the bottom,, so much purer, but not pure yet,, one more attempt to get better yet

the oil is medicinal, ya, right, well, i'm taking it with that intention anyway

grovin with some weaselhead hash at the moment,, summer outdoor grow season has provided me with plenty of buds, and plenty of trimmings for hash,, love it indeed,, cheers agin,,

,, this oil, it's medicine, sure, right,, but, a tiny drop, smoked, in a pipe, on some old ash, all by erself,, wow,, mj at it's strongest, for sure

cheers friend,, till next time, i am always peekin thru the window,, chat soon

Nivek, hi. I got busy doing something or other and now I'm all behind with the threads.
I've been bumping into quite a few seeds at my place lately as well. I neglected to mention that I found several mature seeds in the Mama Thai. And what looked like many very small baby seeds too in spots. I saw one nanner. I also saw nanners in a Delicious Candy which I harvested tonight. And one seed.
At times lately I've been hiding a transsexual Thai stick (lady boy) clone - stashed away in the drying box which is inside the flowering room. I created the sex change by spraying it with homemade colloidal silver. I've been shuffling it around a lot, trying to keep it somewhat separate from his/her sister/girlfriend/former self- the larger flowering Thai Stick clone.
Not sure where the seeds are really coming from in my case but that are probably inevitable under the sloppy circumstances.

When there are no male flowers or nanners to be found- but there are seeds, I just have to assume that there are nanners which are not to be found and have been overlooked.

I think the difference in appearance between a nanner and a male flower is mainly that nanners don't have the 'pod' part to them - outer casing- but are just naked bananas - sometimes single and sometimes in clusters. They can be fairly sneaky. I don't know how many seeds one nanner can breed. I think most release very little pollen - but maybe they vary in their output. And a little pollen can go a long way.

Mould. Mold. Rot. By any other name, still as treacherous and annoying. I make hash and extracts out of stuff that's on the outskirts of it. Anything that's actually changed color doesn't look worth using to me. The threat of mold spores in my lungs doesn't worry me much- the kind of mold that sometimes grows on our brains and lives as we age- I want to avoid that kind. Smoke it out maybe.

Ok I really had to work to find the flowering time of that Mama Thai/Thai stick cross. But I figured it out by searching the journal. I harvested it exactly at 13 weeks of flowering, so 91 days. I remember feeling surprised that it ripened so fast, probably was late chopping it and I suspect that I could have easily harvested it at around the same age as you did.
It ended up light and fluffy and unimpressive looking but I smoked some this eve to try it after I read your post. Figured out not long after that I was very high, in a good way, and I'm still buzzing at 2:30 am. A pleasant surprise.
Here's a picture of it from today. Been in the cure jar for three weeks now.

Here below are some pics of the Thai Stick I last harvested. This was a a bit of a failed grow and the smoke doesn't pack much punch- will need a good cure to ever smoke nicely. I smoked a joint of it today in the name of science- it made me feel happy although it wasn't very strong. Better luck next round I hope.

A few sparkles in there.

:lot-o-toke:

I chopped three of the hex plants tonight. Ace Peyote Purple, Delicious Candy, and Ace Snow Moon. The PP wasn't real healthy under my tender loving care but she is still cool looking. And sticky. Gives meaning to the expression 'sugar leaf'.

Delicious Candy seemed pretty nice. Snow Moon a bit of a bore and didn't live up to the exotic name.

('told ya so' says Tead, somewhere...)

The Peyote Purple seems worth a second look though hey?

That is a sticky stick.. Well done mate..:passitleft:

:passitleft: thanks Griz I was just wandering around your journal, hopelessly behind already. I'll just pop in now and then -no point turning pleasure into work. Yeah the PP she's weird but nice. I wish she was much bigger.
Oops re-reading that it sounds a little bad. PP- Peyote Purple I mean.
I kind of meant to try and reveg that one but I forgot and chopped her. :lot-o-toke: Not the first time I've done that. I have more of those seeds though.

My journal is like a soapie, bold and beautiful or days of our lives, can miss 30 pages and be caught back up reading the last page, lol... Don't you hate when you forget to do what you want.. Then it's too late, lol...

That Purple Peyote looks like Christmas come early Weasel, definite notm material you should enter her, especially that second pic that had me salivating

I'm not sure how I've missed the Thai stick pictures before but they look exactly how we used to buy, it was like a happy flashback seeing those buds again, sweet sticky memories, the good old days, an era of new sensations and giggling fits :)

I absolutely love the hexapus.. Of the dozen or so plants that went through her tentacles, did you lose one you wish you would have kept? I suspect with the quick cycles and the volume of seeds that will go through, you're bound to eventually come across something really special. Guess that's a good thing!

Still trying to figure you out sir. Not sure if you are a simple grower or highly attentive to detail? Either way, I love your work. Great job!

Pretty colors Weaselcrakcer. She's a wild-looking one, isn't she? :laughtwo:

Aww thanks Spitz. I don't know what I am either but highly attentive -probably no.
:hmmmm:
I did lose the first Critical Cheese, the one in the solo cup, but this is the other seed of the two I had and it's very nice too. I don't mind if I lose something. I'm trying to get away from that control thing cause I'm just punishing myself if I feel like I have to clone and label every plant because it might be 'the one'. By the looks of the seed markets these days I figure I could just be happy rolling the dice and growing, and I'll never run out of good things to grow. I'm still going to clone obviously but if I don't want it to take away all the fun.

You are right about the fruit loops, it does look like that colour- a swirling soup of chemical goodness and processed cow milk.

Yeah Sue she did the weeping willow thing about halfway through flowering. This one went through hell and it's testament to her great genetics that she survived. ;)
