The Hexapus's Garden

:thanks:

One Malawi down. One to go. :thumb:
Turns out its been flowering 110 days same as the PC. I forget that I put them all into flower at the same time. It's in better condition though. Meaning I have to trim it all....
Coffee break over- Back to work ;)

Kriaze nailed it. Yum!

Man; that looks like a slog.. I get the feeling you might be like me...
At first it's like "Cool! Harvest"... 10 minutes later, it's "My God, please kill me!"...
But it's always worth it... That plant looks bitchin! All those trichs looked clear; do you deliberately chop a bit early or should I dust off my glasses...?

Lol! I trimmed 3 Pineapple Chunks yesterday and two Malawi today- though of course I ransacked most of the PC and just trimmed the best. Trimming is kind of intense hard work I find and I'm pretty sure there isn't even that ten minutes of 'cool!' that you mention! Just straight up dread along with some sort of masochistic resignation. This is my number one time to get 111% medicated, with no regrets whatsoever.:lot-o-toke: I vaped the scissor hash and finger hash as fast as I could collect it tonight.
As for the trichomes- they varied all over but most were cloudy. A bit of everything- which is what I seem to see with the sativas- they never stop making new trichomes. No it wasn't early. I'd say that the unscrogged plant was harvested about a week late, and the scrogged one was about perfect.
Thanks. :thumb:
Glad that's over.

Maybe this picture is more typical. It really varied all over the buds though. I don't like looking at trichomes so much. I tend to judge the state of the buds more by their general appearance and 'feel'.

That's cool... I thought the plant itself looked good and ready... That trich photo threw me.

"Dread" is very apt, actually..
EDIT: That new photo; I see what you mean..

Glad that's over.

From what i recall reading quite awhile back its not uncommon for some sativas to never go super amber with the trichomes

Happy nuck day weaseley,, friend, you sure know how to grow em, indeed, nice plants for sure. I have not yet come to detest trimming,, my plants are always small, and one at a time, so not the biggest challenge, but i hear ya, it can be tedious,, only way to fill them jars tho. It's all work,, i figure I spend near two hours every single day tending all this stuff,, and now I have some, four, outdoor plants as well

I am also a trichome checker,, only way my limited experience lets me know when to trim em up. I always wait for ambers,, tho all cloudy works for me too.

A q fer ya iffin I might,, the mama thai/Thai Stick, I have mine nearing seventy days flower,, and it looks ready,, surprised me when I checked it because I had not even thought it would be close, I was thinking another three, four weeks. Long skinny buds,, so completely different

Cheers weaseley,, chat soon friend,,

This is how I sprout seeds...

image14145.jpeg

Find a container with a lid- toss the seeds
(Peyote Purple and Y Griega) inside...

image14146.jpeg
Loosely held in some folded or crumpled wet paper towel. Put it somewhere warm.

image14147.jpeg
After 24 hours.
I like to be able to see whether they sprouted before I plant them.

I planted the seeds in some sort of hempy buckets I made. Used the things I could find around, which were one gallon bleach bottles -hit with a bit of black spray paint.

image14152.jpeg

If there happens to be anyone reading this journal who grows hempy feel free to chime in and tell me if I'm doing something wrong.
I made the holes only 1.5" up because of the rather short and wide shape of the pots.
I tried, but I couldn't bring myself to put the precious sprouts straight into the perlite- so I put them in rockwool cubes first.

Revamped the 'cloning area'- the place where good cuttings go to die- trying to give Clone-Auschwitz a nice makeover in the hopes that something might want to actually live there someday.
I replaced the tub of coco with a new one, and tossed the vermiculite tub.
I made some sort of possible water cloner, based on my vague memory of AK Gramma's one. Thanks AK. I'll have to go read that post again. Not sure if I should put a bubbler inside the bucket or not.

It's a white bucket which I stuck inside a planting pot to reduce light shining in.
I had some little net pots laying around from my failed aerocloner. I drilled some holes in a chunk of styrofoam I cut out as a lid to hold them.
The thing in the centre is a bolt I put through to make a handle.

AK Gramma's was much simpler than yours. :laughtwo: "Where clones go to die." You're such a hoot. Lol!

Nice job on the cloner. You'll laugh when you see how much more engineering you put into yours compared to hers. :laughtwo:

Man, I pissed myself.. My missus is like "What are you giggling at over there?" I had to explain what i do on here (it's a club! people here seem to like me!), and about how you are rarely totally happy etc. etc.. Clone-Auschwitz... Classic!
Seriously, love the diy. Only way to go..

Nivek I shouldn't say that I detest trimming. I've got some good though fuzzy memories of trimming sessions -smoking and listening to music and playing guitar on breaks. But I still think the 'fun' of the actual trimming is directly and inversely related to the amount of bud there is to be trimmed.
I waited to answer your question till I could get a chance to take a couple photos of my Mama Thai/Thai Stick. This thing never was completely healthy in veg and I've been constantly flirting with screwing it up worse. I flushed it a couple weeks ago and then after that it got very yellow. I've taken a few countermeasures and its holding steady, maybe...
The truth is I really don't know how to answer your question- I haven't grown one of that strain before. Mine has been flowering for 32 days now. So you're ahead of me there and maybe I should be asking you the questions. Hard to imagine it finishing that fast though...
So far mine looks a lot like Mama Thai except the leaves are somewhat bigger and fancier.

Mama Thai/ Thai Stick is on the right. Male Thai Stick on the left- this is the one I've had kicking around in veg forever and I decided tonight to toss it into flowering so I can pollinate something with it.
My flowering Thai Stick in behind the other two.
These three plants, if you count the male, are all I have in flowering now and I shut down the other flowering light.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Weaselcracker again."

Geez Weaselcracker, every picture's a work of art. :adore:

Thai Stick.
I can't remember right now what day she went unto the flowering room but I think it's been maybe 32ish...days.

image14155.jpeg

This first photo is from a couple days ago. I lashed her down with pipe cleaners again last night, hopefully for the last time.

This is the branch I've been spraying with my homemade colloidal silver. Starting to grow naughty bits.

The guy with the truck returned from his odyssey south to civilization, and came through with the perlite :cheertwo:. He actually got twice as much as I wanted, but I felt like I should grab it even though it's more than I need or wanted to spend right now. I'll need it to make an organic soil mix, someday...
