And then there were five....

Well, I lost one of my babies today! :rip:

After cutting off all the slimey roots, the runt just couldn't handle it.
It dried up and got crispy, and the roots that were left turned brown too.

The other 5 seem to be handling it so far, and I made a special feeding for them since not all the roots are in the water.

I didn't wait to ask, but what I did was mix up a quart of nutes that you would use for clones or transplants (including Root66 and ThriveAlive), and I'm using it to lightly water the rockwool cubes.
I'm hoping that it will stimulate some root growth, since I had to cut a lot off.

Was this a good idea? :hmmmm:

OMG, shows my newbie ways. That sucker, actually both of them grew roots, not sure why but I again appreciate you showing me my errors in my ways. I will ditch those and the dead eaves tonight. right after some :lot-o-toke: lol

Sorry to hear about one of your babes, honestly that is pretty damn good thought that you only lost her. But I hear you, a lose is a lose and it does hurt. Wierd how we get so attatched to these plants, but I do as well......
Good job Burple

Yeah, since the roots aren't in the water anymore, you will have to top feed for a while.

Supercrop? You got me on that one..... I am having height issues and that is why I was LST,ing. I will need to research "SUPERCROP" more i suppose..

Here is what i did tonight and a few pictures of some clones I think are finally going to work out.

my lights are out ATM or I would take a pic, basically you pinch the branch, where you want it to ben over 90deg, until its soft, the gently bend it over, if you dont pinch first it will tear and you dont want that, there is a vid on you tube u can watch to get an idea, look up supercropping and it should come up.

Thanks 011! :thankyou:

I'm just glad it was bag seed and not some seed that I bought.
I just keep telling myself it was probably a male anyway! :goof:

I actually cheated a bit!
Since I had to cut so much off and I knew it would take most if not all of the roots out of the water, I got a half gallon milk jug, cleaned it really good, and put some gravel I scrubbed in it, capped it off and sank it in the res to raise the water level without actually having to add more water or nutes.
The water is about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the cups now, and now the short roots are in the water, and I'm hoping that with the special top feeding I'm doing, that I'll get some quick root growth!

Thanks Answer!:thankyou:

Good attitude Burple!! Very smart starting with bag seed also, :peace:

Before the root problem, I was actually thinking of sacrificing it anyway since it's growth was way behind the others, and I didn't like the way the rockwool looked.

I just checked out your harvest, and all I can say is: :welldone: :goodjob: :bravo: :thumb: and that I hope mine comes out half as well!

Yeh, diesel great videos on you tube
I am a little nervous to do that but anything you guys have suggested in the past has worked so what the hey, I will give it a go.....

If you are nervous about it, try it on one of the smaller branches first, wait a day and check it out, put up a pic of yer plant if you can.

Trust me brother, it is very nerve-wracking at first, but it is easy and works great!! I supercropped, the main two tops on my Killing Field, because they were over six inches taller than the rest of the canopy. Here is a pic from when I did it. All you do is pinch the stem(where it is soft, just feel it) and let the branch lay down flat. After 2-3 days(or sooner sometimes) it will straighten itself back up, like in the photo. Good luck brother!

Pinched where red arrow are pointing.

Thanks 1776 , I see that it is very much a part of what I need to do, not that I want to , but that I need to, plants are so strong and hearty, i love it
