I just made this new thread, kind of just thought this up in the past 10 mins. I invision uniting people all over the US for one reason- educate people of all ages about cannabis and how it can benefit individuals as well as the land we inhabit. National Cannabis Union

Wow Fri the 13th !! Its my last day off for a while !! We start a job on Mon !! should last 3 wks !! Maybe lose a few lbs. too!!Well the clones have been flowering now for 3 wks , looks like a teenage slumber party in the tent !! all those baby buds !!(that sounds creepy) Wish they'd hurry the NLs are getting awfully bushy I need to stretch them but I have almost 2 months to go in the tent !! :yikes:

Hey gang I'm back with my weekly problem! :)

While doing a water swap today, I noticed that the roots on my plants have spots on them and they look like uh... mushy?
The plants themselves look fine nice green leaves & they are growing, the water is clean and clear, the PH is between 5.9 & 7.0, I've been keeping the res temps 74 degrees and below, and I've been adding H2O2 to keep the algae away.

So what is this crap, and how do I get rid of it? :scratchinghead:

Not sure but maybe try rinsing them off with a water and H2O2 (are they too big to carry over to a sink?). Then just add 3 tablespoons of H2O2 to the new res, also add a bit of hygrozyme (or a simular) . Hang on but try to get them temps down in that res ! thats whats causing your problems . Thats what makes summer indoor grows a bitch ! I've been very lucky this year, we haven't had much heat along the coast so far ..:wood:

Wow olhippy sounds like you've got a GOOD problem on your hands! Lol. Well I'm done preparing the spare room and I've got 1 wonder woman seed soaking as well as my airstones, pump etc. Everything should be jumping off tomorrow so I'm excited! Only problem was my Hanna 3 in 1 meter seems to be reading wayyy off after I calibrated it a few days ago. I haven't cleaned it since my last grow so I'm guessing that's the reason for the imbalance. My meter said my water was at 6.5, so I double checked with the PH testing Dye from GH, and it said it was 5.0! So hopefully I can follow the cleaning instructions that roseman has on his tutorial to get her back in the right range because I don't have any money for a new probe right now, and my cal. Solution won't get here till next wk. Sometime, so I guess I'll be using the dye until it comes. If anyone has this meter or any tips please let me know, happy growing!!

I'd love to find a meter that was "fool" proof ! Than I might just think about one ! They seem to be a lot of work !? I just use the dye tester...close enough so far ... If you ever find one ol fools can use let me know grownavy!! good luck on your new grow !!

Little back dots, mostly around the water line and mushy roots are fungus gnats. You'll need some Azamax and/or some Neem oil and fast. If you live next to a hydro store call and ask what they have.

Thanks for answering MC!
The spots are all over the roots both above and below the water line, but the mushiness is only below the water line.
I'm gonna call the 2 closest hydro stores and see what they have!

Thanks for answering ol hippy!
I can get them to my bathtub and rinse them off, but my water is very high PH (8.3 from the tap), and won't that hurt them more?
I've been fighting res temps for almost 5 weeks now, and this is the lowest it has been.
Today before the water swap the res temp was only 72.6 and after 64.4!

Well, I only have another 3 months before the temps down here get back into the 80's!

Thanks guys! :thankyou:

Hey All!

I'm making my DIY DWC res today, and I posted pics of the process. I am soaking my gang valves, air tubing, air stones in ph balanced water. I would love to hear your input, or corrections or additions to the process. My Journal link is in my siggy, and the pics are on the last page.

I am going to rinse the ona gel residue off of my tanks, and wash my DIY res, and hydroton next.

Thanks in advance!

NOTE, pics are on Page 9, my journal flipped a page. So if you want to take a peek, the pics are on page 9.

Thanks ALL!

OK so I've been MIA for the last couple weeks and wanted to make sure all knew that things are good. Just had a very bad PC problem, now resolved :yahoo:

As alway the :BH: always have things under control. Damn reaching 1k of pages :adore:
Hat tip to y'all, each and everyone of you.

Anyhow, :sorry: if I missed any of your grow issues, but I definetly know that MC, Roseman and all the :BH: have it handled.

Great to be back in the mist of great company. :ganjamon:

If you can get a good look at them see if they look like larvae. Little worm like things. The black dots are their eyes.

MC, I don't see anything that looks like larvae.
If the spots I have are eyes, these are gonna be the world's biggest gnats! :biglaugh:
It looks like someone blew their nose all over the roots.
They are slimy almost fuzzy looking.
I'm waiting for my neighbor to come home so I can take a pic or 2 (if I can work the camera).

Anyway, I went to the hydro store and got a bottle of "GoGnat", which they told me is GREAT if what I have is fungus gnats.

Thanks for your help, and I'll post again when I take a pic. :thankyou:

Way to go olhippy glad to hear that your picking up work, this economy is really crappy nowadays so just being employed is considered a blessing. On a lighter note I just ordered the rest of my stuff for the grow, I'll be getting started next Fri. On my off day, so that should work out just fine. Question for you guys/gals. I'll be doing 4 wonder woman (my grandfather calls it his signature weed! Lol) and 2 top 44 in a 5 gallon bucket (unfeminized) I'm hoping to get at least 1 female from the bucket, but I'm not sure if that'll be to many plants for a 4x4?? I'm starting them all in a 3x3 tent so when the larger one comes I can just swap'em over what do you think? I'm still using GH 3-part with some calmag, floraliscious plus, and kool bloom in flower. (Full strength this time! Lol) all of them will still be under the 430W agrosun red as well Thanks!!!

Hey grownavy,
My only concern would be the Wonder Woman they are your "grandfathers' signature weed" for a reason. If you have 2 female WW they will use up all of that 4X4 area. I have 2 fems that I started from seed (started with 4), and I have grown them under cfl's only and the are way to crowded in a 2X3 area that they are in.

This pic was taken 6 days ago and have even gotten bushier. If they had more lateral room I would be much happier. :thumb:
