The Boptang Carnival

Yeah I noticed that too... they all had weird colours to what I’m used to lol.
Colours are fun! :cheesygrinsmiley:

I haven’t had any need to scruff up any seeds, but I will definitely give that a try if they still aren’t at least cracked by tomorrow.

That seed, didn’t move at all after 48 hours of sitting in PT. I put it in dirt, but nothing. I dug it out today, it ended up shooting the cotyledons out but the tap root ended up wrapping around it and was dead before it even started its life. It was the weirdest thing...

I store them in Cotten, in their container (wether it’s metal, or plastic container) inside a bag. Inside the crisper of my fridge.

I hope so too man! I’m almost tempted to put my old light back in... but I say no! I won’t let the light win!! I must overcome!:bong::high-five:
You may want to store your seeds in a drier place. I keep mine in a beer stein on a shelf, so its dark. But, to help out the dry, I also add desiccant wafers to the stein from medication or beef jerky packages. I went through a rash of bad seeds. I changed a few things and my germination rate went up

You may want to think about disinfecting your seeds with a little peroxide. A peroxide and water for 10 minutes before the big soak works well. Some just put the peroxide in the soaking water but ive never done that.

Scuffing the surface is something to do before you get them wet. I put some sticky sand paper in a small box. You then put your seeds in it and shake it. the micro abrasions help the water get in

A match box might work a little better
Thanks man! I will have to give that a try!:high-five:

I lined a Mini Altoid tin with sandpaper because you can snap it shut. I've lost a couple of seeds shaken out of a matchbox!
Thanks man!! I will have to give that a try. :high-five:

Many people forget this, but it’s true—your cannabis seeds are living organisms. Before they germinate, however, they are in a state of rest (much like some animals when they hibernate). And like all living things, seeds can die. When storing your seeds, you’ll want to give them the optimal conditions to ensure they hold through until you’re ready to germinate and plant them.

For short-term storage, a dark cupboard or drawer with stable temperatures is usually fine. Try to keep your seeds out of areas of your house that are susceptible to the natural temperature changes of your local environment.

If, for example, you live in an area with very warm daytime temperatures and cool nights, try to protect your seeds from these changes and don’t store them outside in a shed or garage.

For long-term storage, it’s best to keep your seeds in a sealed container inside the fridge. Remember that opening the door of your fridge can actually cause some pretty dramatic temperature shifts. If you happen to have a second fridge that gets used less often than the one in your kitchen, use that one to store your seeds.

Again, whenever possible, keep your seeds in their original packaging. If you do open a pack of seeds and have leftovers, transfer the extra seeds directly into a sealed airtight container.

Ziplock bags, for example, are great because you can remove all the air from them to create an almost vacuum-sealed container for your seeds. Once vacuum-sealed, put your bag inside a dark plastic bag or dark container to protect your seeds from your fridge light.

Remember, modern fridges are very dry. It’s super important your seeds aren’t directly exposed to these conditions, as the lack of humidity can cause them to use up their nutrient stores just to stay alive.

CAN YOU STORE SEEDS IN THE FREEZER?
Yes, cannabis seeds can be stored in the freezer. The lower the temperature, the slower they decline. However, it’s usually not necessary to freeze your seeds. Meet the conditions we outlined above, and you should be able to preserve your seeds for up to five years and still get a high germination rate.

I’ve heard about that... I will have to keep that in mind next time...

It’s kind of funny because, with the germination process I always choose, let me germinate 13/13 seeds... plus all my other seeds in the past. Then an entire pack of 5 auto flowering seeds, dont germ... something is fishy here... :hmmmm:

I just checked on the three seeds... and again, nothing... I emailed Rebecca from dr seeds to see what is the next step is...

You ever heard of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault.

the worlds largest seed vault, stored under ground for ultimate cool temperatures, to reserve seeds.

That place is awesome and the work that the director/curator has done there deserves a Nobel peace prize or something.

Yes, but they use Svalbard because the temp never changes. If someone needs to look at the seeds they don't have to worry about things like condensation. We aren't so lucky. If we use the ice box we pull out our seeds containers and immediately have water forming on our seeds.

If I ever put anything in freezer for long term storage I never take them straight from freezer to use them unless I’m using all the seeds in said container. The container will go from freezer to fridge to sit for 24 hours then I open quickly to take what I want and back to freezer they go. I try to do this in 30 seconds or less too

I bet there's some proper old landrace's in there, would love to have a look.
Definitely got some winners in there!! :high-five:

It’s definitely something else! At first I didn’t believe it. It’s definitely something remarkable!

Your right. Absolutely. Always have to worry about condensation. I hardly bring the seeds out of the fridge, and only for short periods of time. But ultimately the seeds them selves will always battle unrecommended conditions... due to shipping/delivery... that’s where keeping them in the package from the seed company that “guarantees” their freshness. Also having Cotten/rice in with the seeds helps maintain their freshness by absorbing any condensation that could build up before it damages the seeds.

That’s a great point. I’m glad you pointed that out. :high-five:

this is how they look today. GG4-1 in the bottom of the picture, might not make it... time will tell. I do wanna say, they look better... but I’m really not sure if they are or if they aren’t.
mom going to look back and see how old these bitches are exactly. So when it comes time to feeding again, I’m gunna bump it up to closer to their recommended dosage for how old they are.

Try some Fulvic acid. It helps chelate the nutrients, so you wouldn't necessarily need more, they would better use what they have. Do you remember the mother in the closet a couple seasons ago Its? She came back with a little help from this stuff. Its supermellow, so over doing it isn't easy... just a thought

Fulvic acid eh? Next time I’m at the store I will take a look if I can find any. Thanks brotha!! :high-five:

IF, you do decide to try it and you have access to the product Ful-Power from Bioag, get it. If not Botanicare has one called Fulvex, its better than GH's Diamond Nector. Just my opinion.

I most certainly will!! :high-five:
the rest of the crew has seen better days... but hopefully I can get them to turn around!!
Fulvic acid....... he whispered in his softest voice.

I honestly want to say, they do, look happier! :cheesygrinsmiley:
I hope to keep that ball rolling. Those pictures were taken just now.

While I had supper on the Barbecue, I was messing around on my skateboard with the daughter... she sure is Intrigued by it. See if I can get her to balance on it by the end of the year... chances are probably not... but I can hope!:cheesygrinsmiley:

That would of been incredible! I mean at the time, ya never would of thought anything of it. But that would of been absolutely incredible.

here he is at the age of 48 years old. This video was posted in 2011
That pool was modeled after the Combi. Theres a grip of old guys that still skate, Cabalerro, Hasoi, Miller.

Do you ever watch clips of Rodney Mullen? Lots of folks have invented lots of tricks but nothing like Mullen
