The 4x4 Grow Tent Club

Just a few pics from last night and this morning.
All the frosty goodness that is going to make me a good batch of oil.

As stated, watering with rain water (2 ppm), adding 1 ml Cal/Magic and 0.75 grams of Epsom per gallon.
This AM I had about 5 gallons in the rez and ran two cycles at 6 minutes, got very good runoff, the last cycles I used the remainder of the solution, took an 8 minute cycle to completely drain the rez's. I then cleaned both rez's and refilled with 15 gallon of the above solution. PPM is 167 or 0.33 EC.
I know your not supposed to flush with straight water during the grow but for the last few days prior to harvest, would it hurt the plant to eliminate the Cal/Magic and Epsom and go with plain water?
I am thinking it would be about three days of plain water.
Any thoughts?

Couple of pics the night before chop, stopped watering and cut the lights for 48 hrs prior chop.

Now, I figure around 5 to 7 days @ approx 70 degrees with approx 55 to 60 % humidity. Let's see what she does. I am figuring a pound plus, but don't think I did a G/W.

This is a recap of this Barneys Farm LSD Pheno #5 Monster Crop.

A little history:
Ten Clones were taken during veg from a vertical grow that started on 10/4/17. That vert grow went into flower on 11/22/17.
At day 33 of flower I took 9 clones off of the 5 plants in flower, only one made it, pheno #5.
Well the vertical grow was harvested on 1/24/18, 24.5 zips, 1.08 G/W
Five of the clones that were taken on 10/4/17 went into the tent on and put into flower on 1/29/18, 5 plant horizontal grow. This was harvested on 4/2/18, 26.5 zips 1.18 G/W
That brings us to the star of this show, the Barneys Farm LSD Pheno #5, The Monster Crop.
Again this clone was taken at day 33 of 12/12 on 12/26/17 and vegged for 14 week under a T5 6 lamp fixture and natural sunlight plus 4 weeks in the tent under the two 315’s. Never want to do 18 weeks in veg again, waste of time and energy.
She was put into flower one 4/29/18 and harvested 61 days later on 6/30/18.

Twenty six days after she was cloned she finely started rooting so transplanted into Solo's, she was the only one to make it.

Today after 4 days on the rack, one day in plastic bag to re-hydrate. After day back on the rack the buds were trimmed off the branches and jarred with a Boveda pack in each.
Weight in the jars 526 g's, 18.8 zips of trimmed smokable buds, and like I expected only 0.83 G/W. 18 plus zips off one plant ain't too bad but I really wanted to hit the G/W.
I believe had I had some experience in this style of grow I would have done better but, shit, I had no idea what I was doing during LST and trim, because she was so massive, so I probably over trimmed. Had I of had some form of netting to hold them up I probably would have trimmed less. This pheno was much different than #1 which was in the horizontal grow, it was more sativa like, long spacing between nodes, tall and stretchy but the nugs themselves are very hard and compact.
But live and learn, I am happy.
This is going to make some very nice FECO, I figure off 16 zips of buds and what ever the weight of the sugar leaf trim I should get around 60 to 75 grams of high quality oil.

What's up everyone. It's been a minute again. I know I come and go like crazy.. hahaha. Sorry. Wife 4 kids full time job and full time hobby/medical growing life's been crazy. I harvested my last grow with 4 plants and got 8oz. Technically only harvested 3 plants cause I trim by hand and solo so honestly I just threw the 4th into my trim pile and made a shit ton of butter. Almost 8oz into my crock pot butter.. No where close to y'all but I'm still learning and trying different methods.. I'll post some pictures but 1st I have a couple questions.. what size pots do y'all use? Also what soil? I really think I need to up my pots from 5 gallon. I feel like my roots are running out of room. When I harvest my roots are holding the 5 gallons of dry dirt together when I pull them out of the pots. Also I use the. Fabric smart pots. I am also using fox farm soil. I'm going to post a picture of my outside plants even tho this is a 4x4 group. I'm pretty damn proud of em. 2 of them fill a 15ft x 10ft area... My bad it's crazy long but my last harvest had a strong sativa.. lmao hopefully everyone has been having problem free lives since last time

These 1st 7 are from my last grow.

These are this grow. I had them 5ft tall and got them down to 3 foot by tieing everything down. Took 3 days but I got it. Only 2 plants this time and both sativa's. They are starting week 4 yesterday.

Here's my 2 outdoor girls. They have massive bud sites and have been topped I don't even know how many times. I've put bamboo sticks all around them and bent and tied every branch any way I could even super cropped a couple to give it a try. I'm hoping for atleast 5 or 6oz per plant.

About 11 days since sprout, still under the T5's and doing well. Cal/Mag deficiency is taken care of and growth is doing well.

Can still see a bit of deficiency on the lower leaves of the bigger plants, but all is OK.
Roots checked yesterday, filling in nicely, will get pics soon. Hope to transplant this next week into their final growing pots, 2 gallon Smart Pots in coco.
Time to start getting the tent ready, everything has been cleaned and sanitized, drip system ready to set back up. Considering moving the main rez to a lower position and attempt to reduce the amount of drainage upon system shutdown.
O.68 EC, all plants, and a pH of 5.84, watered yesterday and expect to be watering every other day or so. With the root growth I am seeing it won't be long before beginning daily watering's, until I transplant the start the rooting game all over in the 2 gallon pots. Hope to get the same root system as my last vertical grow, massive root system.
The plant in the center and the one on the lower right are about 6 days behind the other four.
This pic is just of the current setup, it was taken prior to germination.

Checked the roots in the Solo cups this AM and will be transplanting into their final pots today.
This is one of the two plants that are about a week behind the other three.

Still debating the two or three gallon Smart Pots, my main hesitation is the amount of solution that will be used comparing the two sizes. I don't want to have to be filling the rez daily and going to the three gallon pots will increase my nute solution usage by 0.5%.
I do plan on increasing the size of my rez and moving it to where it will be on a more level plane with the plants, so that should reduce the additional solution draining from the mainline into the pots. If I can get better control over my solution distribution I think I can get by with the 3 gallon. I would sure like to have the extra root space.
Any thoughts?

As stated on Friday I transplanted today but went up to a 3 gallon Smart Pot. Have 6 plants to choose from to get my 5 needed for the vertical grow.
This is the process.
i place an empty Solo in the transplant pot, water with low nute and pH'ed solution to set the coco and then remove the Solo. This is what is looks like with the cup removed.

Then we remove the seedling from it Solo cup and place it in the hole in the coco. Works great, treat the hole prior to putting in the seedling with Great White. Then they are drenched again with a low EC and pH'ed solution.

Here they are back in the tent and placed under the 315 CMH for the first time, at 23 inches light to plant.

Will be placing either clay pellets, Grow Stone or course Perlite on the surface to prevent both the coco moving during watering's and fungal gnat control.

Am hoping that increasing the pot size does not come back to bite me in the butt. Going to have to do a little redesign on my screens but should not be that big an issue. Main thing I am concerned about the amount of nute solution I will be using and the increased weight, having to move the plants in and out to work tying them back to the screens.
Let's do this!

GR

Yesterday I added more coco and put the Grow Stones over the surface about 1.5 to 2 inches thick.

OK I am impressed.
I transplanted on Monday 9/10 into the three gallon Smart Pots from the Solo cups, gave them a good watering with nute solution. Did another watering with solution on Thursday evening. This morning Saturday 9/15, got to love it!

The Smart Pots are doing what the do best, prune them root and not allow them to become root bound.
I have become a big fan of Great White, they will be getting another watering tonight or in the morning. Getting them roots thick in the pots for max growth.

Weekly Update! Days 6 since transplant.

I added the second light, note that I tilt the lamp at this point, feel I get better coverage. Will keep this configuration until I set the lights up for vertical, should be about 4 weeks or so, dependent of growth.

Just a note, when I added the second lamp temps rose from 78 degrees to 83 degrees. I increased the speed of the Max Fan and have that temp on the high side down to 81 degrees. Have not started using the AC unit as of yet.

Getting very good growth now, gave them a good soak last night, to about 30 plus % runoff. This week I will be working on setting up the drip system, new parts should be here today.

Trying something a little different to the system on this run. Will explain when I set it up and see if it works.

Yesterday I set up for vertical. hung one lamp top horizontal, and the lower lamp is vertical. As the ladies grow I will hang the 2nd lamp vertical.
Here they are set for the lamps.

After the lamps and fan are added.

Thumb is blocking the lamp.

Here is the rez, just setting this thing up. I moved it to the tub to get negative flow after shut down of the system, it used to drain about 10 feet of 3/4" tubing, now there is no drainage after shutdown.
