The 4x4 Grow Tent Club

Man I've been so consumed with work and midterms I haven't been active on the forums at all the last few weeks. I've been dealing with various problems the last week and a half.... So for the deficiency I was experiencing got handled but I swung it too far the other way and got nute burn. All the tips of the leaves are whitish/yellow. .....

Aside from that things are looking really good. The canopy is completely filled out with colas and they are so dense and the terpines are incredible. Great aroma and when I touch them my fingers stick together haha

Hi. Great pics. Something to consider, since you seem to be at the right time. LA's Quick Guide To Simple Backbuilding Technique For Buds!

Just posted this in a new thread but wanted to put it here also, maybe get additional replies. I am in a 4x4.

Have used coco now for 5 years, different methods and grow techniques. Now it's straight Canna Coco and Canna nutes.
During the early stages as the roots are developing and am hand watering, I am always displacing the surface coco and having to move it around and pat it back down. After transplant and again while hand watering there is the displacement again and follow the same routine. Even after I have switched to my auto system, where the emitters are they displace and compace the area where it is being emitted.
I decided to put a layer of clay pellets 1-2" over the surface of the coco to hole it in place and also help retain moisture. Now my solution hits the pellets and the solution is more dispersed as it passes over the clay pellets.

My question is, has anyone tried this and is there a potential problem I should be aware of?

Here is my setup. 1/4" feed line and tee's. Three emitter points, wanted four but not enough pressure.

Yay, it works!

Looks really good. Nice setup. I've never seen a vertical bulb grow

Looks like a damn fine set up to me!

Hi. I can't see anything wrong, but I can see an advantage. I'd say there was much less chance of an emitter clogging and much easier to spot if one did. What kind of light is that?

Hey everyone, just posting the three little ladies I have in my 4x4x6 grow tent with a 600w viparapectra LED grow light. Beginning of the 2nd week of flower. These girls are three Carmelicious plants, indica dominant hybrid. Had a month of set backs due to a war with fungus gnat larvae, I finally won the battle a month ago and got em back on track. :)

Yes that is one of the things I like about it very hard to clog.

The upper light is a horizontal Nanolux 316W CMH NA, the lower light is the same on hung bare bulb vertical. I will be hanging the upper bulb vertical also soon. So my set up will be stacked 315W CMH 5 plants on screens. If you want to see my journal it is in rollitup, GR's 17'/18' winter/spring stacked 315W 5 plant vertical with screens, Barneys Farm LSD. Take a look if you get a chance.

Hey yall

So I'm about 10 days away from harvest, maybe less! I need advice about how to dry buds.

I know you're supposed to hang them upside down in darkness. I've been told to keep the environment around 60 degrees / 60% humidity. However I can't get temps lower than 68 with the lights off and can't afford to run AC in my house for 2 weeks.

Any suggestions? How do you guys go about it?
Thanks

I don't have the perfect conditions for drying but this has worked for me for many years.
I hang the trimmed branches for three two four days until they just begin to dry then put them in a plastic bag or plastic container, depending on the amt I am doing. I leave it in the container for 18 to 24 hrs, take it out hang again and depending on how dry they feel the second time I may or may not put them in bags or containers. If they go back into the container I repeat the process.
If they have the feeling I like my bud to be at this point I will put them in qt jars/lids with Boveda packs, and burp every 8 to 12 hrs. I repeat this process for a few days and when they are right I seal the jars up with the boveda packs and burp once a week or so for a month, depending of the feel.
Once they are right, with the Bovedas in the jars they will hold that moisture level for a long time. In May of this year, my GF and i had an anniversary and I had a fat bud of Querkle that had been in a jar with a pack and It was so nice, broke up will, not at all crumbly, the smell and flavor had not changed and the high was as good was we remembered. They work well.

Getting close to flipping my 4x4 :3

Love the size of the tent but extra work space would be better .

5x5 club coming soon XD

Start of week 4, three Carmelicious ladies from 420.com in my 4x4 tent, this 600w viparapectra LED light has worked great so far :)

I had some issues earlier on, hence the smaller size but with the way I trained them I opened up the middle and most bud sites are in light and great air circulation in the tent so hopefully I can fatten them up to make up for the fungus gnat war that took forever to win. Lol anyways, happy growing everyone .

I am excited to announce I am days away from harvest finally! Today I gave the girls a 3rd and final flush and tested the pH of the runoff which came out to 5.96. I'm going to give them one more light cycle before switching off the for last time. I plan on letting them sit in complete darkness for 48-72 hours before I pull them and hang upside down. Any thoughts? I've been waiting for the trichomes to turn cloudy to almost an amber color and it's just been within the last couple days I tell that 85% of the trichomes are cloudy/15% amber.

The buds seem to have really plumped up the last week or so and have a great aroma however, I'm a little concerned that they feel dried out because of direct exposure to the fan. They aren't squishy and sticky instead they feel rock hard and dry. I've been told to look into boveda packs. How exactly do they work?

Looking good !!!

I'd strongly recommend washing them. It sounds crazy, but it is anything but.

Bud Washing

I've done it myself and will continue to do so.

You need to buy Boveda 62% RH packs. That is the level of humidity that you want your buds to be stored at long term. They are for the (post drying) curing process. If your buds are too dry, it will add moisture. Too wet it will reduce it. It's what people use for cigars, herbs, etc.

I'll definitely look into bud washing, I've never heard of it before.

As for the boveda packs, what "gram size" will i need if I plan on storing/curing buds in the 1L mason jars?

Sup you all! I'm having trouble deciding when to start the transition to flower. I've seen my friend flower an 50/50 strain with the same setup and fill a tent well (20 something ounces)

So I'll give the pictures but just before here is my set up.
600w ms and duel
4x4, vent and DWC
Two plants, high yeilding kush stains

I'm aiming to achieve 300g and I'm willing to wait. My Critical k is growing a little slow ( environmental stress).

Thank you you all

Gimik! Hard dense nugs are exactly what you want! They're beautiful! And given that yours is an inside grow, and given the density of your buds I wouldn't suggest bud washing. You're not going to have dirt and dust and bugs in the buds, and the risk of mold is higher with wet dense buds. Do the research and see what you think. Nice grow!
