The 4x4 Grow Tent Club

My guess would be calcium or boron based on the colourings, try some cal mag @5 mL/G n see if that helps a bit, check your ph too as it can be hard for plants to absorb calcium/magnesium at a ph below 6.4/6.5

Good luck mate!

Oh also just set my 4x4 tent up with some nice big cob led's so if anyone is interested in watching a 4x4 journal by a begginner looking to push the space to the max check my journal in my sig!

Did you check for bugs?

Yeah I've been checking for bugs. I sprayed all the plants down with diluted hydrogen-peroxide (3%) including the tent and the drain tray. I plan on doing another spraying in a couple days before the buds really start coming in.

I just fed them their bloom nutes + CalMag for the orangish color but I fucked myself and forgot to pH the water. The two jugs that i remember to pH came out to 5.3 and 5.8 respectively. I tested the runoff and it was 5.8. I'll just have to water with a higher pH next time to adjust soil pH i think??

I'm growing in a soil mix. 50/50 Sunshine Mix #4 and Fox Farm Ocean Forest.
I think because you do have soil you should run a higher ph. I'm not familiar with sunshine mix but I'm using promix hp right now and I know that's technically soiless. Nevertheless you do have 50% fox farm, again unfamiliar, so assuming it is soil id think you could run higher ph because the soil would act as a buffer even if sunshine mix is soiless. If it's truly a soil blend hit it with 6.7 bring it up, and.water it on a spectrum of 6.2to 6.5 to get maximum nutrient uptake.
Don't forget to ph the end of your run off to get a good idea of your nutrient absorption and try to isolate that water instead of dipping it into the same tray as the rest of your run off. Should give you a better idea of what's going on in the root zone. Again I'm no pro but with the issues your having this is my best suggestion!

Ya this is my first grow so I'm largely unfamiliar about soil and pH. My friend is part of some pretty large cultivations and so he's been helping me along with this grow. He's been telling me pH around 5.8 which seems to be lower than what most people recommend however things have been going surprisingly well up until this last week or so when they started showing signs of deficiency. I think this is just due to the fact the last two waterings have been only H2O. Before tonight, last time I fed nutes was 15 days ago.

Will update in next couple days. Hope they start to look happier by then hehe

I would say head over to the ask me page if you haven't already. Multiple, and more seasoned opinions seem to straighten a lot of grows out! Wanna make sure you optimize those first weeks of flowering and set your buds up for success, flushing may be required if there is an excess of salt build up in the medium Too! All no good for early flowering! Be patient, but remember in soil things take a little while to change and you need to be a bit more pro active!

Looking forward to seeing how they bounce back, good luck Gimik!

The only thing I've changed is the light schedule and that was 1.5 weeks ago. The last two times I watered them I used strictly H2O and no nutes. The last time I fed them nutes was 9/14 so chances are it's just a deficiency I'm just not good at identifying the different symptoms yet

Some good advice I was given by a member of these forums I trust. Seems to be a long time to go without any nutes(16 days if it was the 14th-30th). He says when switching from veg > flower you should be slowly adjusting their nutes for about 10 days. So 1st feed like 80/20(veg/flower) combo, 2nd feed 60/40, 3rd feed 40/60 and so on. They still use up a lot of N during the initial bit, so it's a good idea to ease them into their flower nutes without cutting them off.

Ladies are still looking fantastic though :goodjob:

This is great idea. I'll be making a note of this for sure. Thanks GoP

Nice Sherlok!

As promised I'm back with an update about how the new fan/ventilation system is working.

I mentioned in a previous post about having temperature issues when the tent if fully zipped up (bottom vents open) where temps would rise 86+ fairly quickly. So to combat this issue I ordered a 440 cfm exhaust fan/carbon filter combo and I'm excited to say he equipment arrived yesterday =). However it was a weird day after hearing about the tragedy in Las Vegas I was in a super funk all day and was having major issues trying to hook everything up myself. After struggling to lift and secure the filter/fan, having the ducting fall off several times and hooking the exhaust fan up facing the wrong way (it was sucking air into the tent) and wanting to just cry I finally got it all put together and I must say I'm very pleased so far. I noticed, however, a couple of the hangar bars across the top started to bow a tiny amount, but I noticed it. I'm going to reinforce the poles and the connector pieces with duct tape and get a few extra strap to secure the fan.

After leaving the tent fully zipped up, again the bottom vents open I periodically checked the temp throughout the night I'm happy to report that ambient temperatures stood around 78-79, down from 86+! I'M SO RELIEVED THIS HELPED OMG =) I had the fan on fully power (440cfm) to achieve such a drop in temp however I'm thinking I'm going to need to get some sort of timer for the exhaust as I don't want it running full speed while the lights are off. I just want it to kick on every 15-30 minutes to exhaust out any built up humidity while I'm at work and the lights are off however I don't necessarily know how to achieve that haha. I'm sure a quick google search will point me in the right direction. I also included a photo of a lollipop I did last night on one of the plants. I'm going to finish the other plants tonight. I think by defoliating these massive bushes I'll help release any trapped heat in the canopy and possible lower temps slightly more. At the very least it'll improve circulation and light penetration.

I currently have the ducting just blowing out my window, but as you can see it's not very stealthy and after looking at my window from the outside it's a super bust. I'm trying to figure out what to attach to the end of the ducting so it doesn't look like an aluminum pipe sticking out my window screen. I was thinking about using some sort of register to set in my window seal. Maybe something like this Barnett Supplies for the Commercial Contractor | Plumbing | Electrical | HVAC -

Looking good buddy,
1st picture, it looks as if you put the sock over the charcoal filter but you did not use the bands on each end. If not you are sucking trash into the filter.
Here is a pic of my filter, note the straps holding it up but also the yellow bands on the ends to seal them.

Just an observation!

Interesting. My filter didn't come with those elastic bands, nor did the other one I was using. I have to stop into Home Depot today so I'll look into picking up a pair of those bands if they have them. Good looking out :thumb:

Lots of things would work. Couple shoe strings, some jute twine, et cetera. I'd probably avoid zip ties, because you'd end up cutting the prefilter when you were trying to cut them off for maintenance. A pair of elastic bands are convenient - but not really necessary, IMHO.

Hello all on this grow site. I have been lurking and reading up on many websites for many months. In a non-legal state for now but trying to absorb all the info I can for when I get the opportunity to grow my own meds and get off all the Pharma the VA and regular Dr have me on for various conditions. I am planning on buying and using a tent type grow to get my feet wet when the time comes and have been saving bits and pcs of info on ways to make it more efficient. One thing I have noticed it there is not many tips/photos of how to make tents better, easier and such( other than some here lately. I guess I've been looking for a "pimp my tent so to speak" leaning toward functional vice pretty . You know some cool ideas to incorporate into a grow such as tips, diys ect. But just wanted to say thanks to everyone for any and all input on sites like these. It gives us other people hope that we will get a chance to grow our own meds before we get too old and die from all the pharma stuff. Attaboys to everyone.
Good for you! I made the change about a year ago. Over-prescribed opiates & benzos for 7 years by military/VA doctors. I'm also in an illegal state but fly under the radar just fine. I also don't grow a huge garden.
Anyhow, since I started using cannabis again, I no longer need all 5 scripts they had me on. Pure green now, no pharma.
Hope you have a successful & fun growing experience.
