So.... I got some breathing room this morning and tackled a lighting problem.
My large CF bulb died. It served well beyond it's intended term and needed to be replaced anyway.
I decided I'm just not a huge fan of the bulbs with the ballast built into their bases. I kind of suspect that building the ballast into the base is a bit of a hack that might cause more heat generation. Since heat is so important in my world, I decided to try T5s. I picked up a small 2 tube fixture as a test. If I like them I may add 1 or 2 more fixtures.
The need....
The parts
Assembly... note serious jack-leg engineering strain relief.
I'll thank you to ignore the pet hair and drywall debris....
Burning it in a bit before I hang it.
I was a touch blown away by how good everything was looking in there this morning. Perhaps my dead flouro was way past it's prime.
The PC. Note small lower growth up main stem.
The Afgann is taking off
An OGK clone recovered from her cloning abuse and starting to take off. Note H/L on thermometer.
Even the Afgann is the overpowering Osmo mix is showing growth
Last but not least, a Critical+2.0 just after being replanted from a leaking container. She didn't seem to loose a beat and is showing very large early leaf growth.
Southern Decadence hits town this weekend. The sweetie and I are going to paint the interior of a house over the upcoming long weekend. No doubt we'll find a chance to witness the craziness in the F.Q. I'll be sure to snap a photo or two that can be shared in public.
