Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

I didn't do anything special. I took a jug of 70% alcohol, put my grinders in a plastic bag, poured in the alcohol and shook it for a good long time... like minutes. It's not an extract process I'm looking for, so I just shook it until the grinders looked clean-ish. It washed out all the little corners of caked goodness.
I used a double boiler to evaporate off the alcohol and water.

Goodness my friend... you'll enjoy!

Oh goodie. A project for my last day on restricted use. I'll whip up a batch tomorrow morning to appreciate Sunday afternoon. Thanks again Tead. :battingeyelashes:

Yup... bleach.
I use about 2 cups in a pot. Plug the hole, dump in the bleach, fill with water, mix the soup around a bit, let it sit for a few hours, rinse the begeezus out of it.
Bits of root can be a pain to get rid of. I dry the perl completely first. This makes removing the bits easier. Plus, I rinse the mix so many times that I have plenty of chance to pick out any root bits that remain.
I use pondzyme to break down the dead roots then H2O2 and rinse rinse rinse. It turns out like new.

Ya know... the grow shop in our city moved to another city. Getting my mitts on the fancier pieces like decent H2O2 is an issue. Pond Zyme might be available locally from a pool or pond shop (yes, there actually is a pond shop in town).
But really, the bleach solution is easy and readily available.

But I do love using H2O2... fun bubbles!

I buy my perlite in 4 cu ft bags for about $25-30 per bag. That is about $1 per gallon.

You may be spending more to clean a gallon of perlite than to buy another gallon of new perlite.

I don't think so... 2 cups of bleach is way less than a buck.

I get the 8qt bags for $5 at Home Depot... one bag is good for one plant unless I'm using the 5gal buckets.

hmmm... now that I'm thinking about it... your cost vs return comment may have been pointed at Laz.

im only using small amounts of perlite for cloning so it doesnt take much H2O2 and i have the pondzyme for my dwc buckets. I can see what you mean as far as cost/return when using larger amounts tho.

A touch of fun in the garden this morning....

Damn! I am not too far away, but rarely visit the city, so it's not a huge concern. I am going to have to keep an eye on your grows man, good to see some southerners on here.

Apparently the Monarch was discovered by a bird while drying her wings....

My blooming Osmo girl is just starting to hit the fireworks stage....

Probably a baby bird that now knows the awful taste of a monarch. The sacrifice of the one will save the lives of many more.

Nice technique growing outside above the warm A/C coils. Or is that still the inside of your shed :)

Smartass! I still shake my head at installing the AC backwards.
And since we're talking about AC.... I gotta say, my little interior bloom shed is working SO good. We've had some really hot days. Yesterday outside temps were 95f, shed interior was at 125f, but the interior stayed right at 85f with the AC compressor running ~1min out of every 5min. I would normally have shut the bloom room down by this point. At this point, I feel I've resolved the heat problem and can get away with growing thru the entire summer.
So happy!

On another note, no joy from my Herbie's shipment yet. Drag. In the emailed receipt they stated "Please only contact us by email at sales@herbiesheadshop.com if your order hasn't arrived by 09 June 2016"... so I guess I'll be writing them tomorrow.
Suckage.
