Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Not one of my favorite moments in cultivating. Stay positive now. Think of it as a glitch in cosmic timing you just simply didn't see coming. In my life those glitches always seem to have a reason I also missed. :laughtwo:

I like the way you put that, "the fireworks stage." That's exactly how it feels sometimes, and with the tall colas in full bloom and flopping all around, sometimes it looks like a fireworks display in full force when you catch the overhead photos. Your blooming osmo girl is beautiful Tead, and thanks for the monarch photos. Cycle of life.

The picture that inspired me to grow my first Carnival was an overhead by Graytail that looked like a den of Chinese bearded dragons taking flight in a storm of fireworks. What an incredible picture that was.

Staked claim recognized. I'll be your witness. Mark that date. :laughtwo:

Im glad to hear temps are a bit more managable for ya now. Hope you get your seeds soon as well! Hows the 2L girl doing? She perking up from the clipping?

She's still recovering from the burn and all the clipping. Her new growth looks good. Recovering from a good burn just takes time. I have 2 clones from her going that are looking quite good.

I've been totally ignoring everyone's grows... gotta take the tour but life has been way busy.

My sweetheart and I have been buying up houses that can provide instant positive cash flow. We were looking at a set of 5 small houses in a bad neck of Mr. Roger's neighborhood. They're extra attractive since they produce about $2300/mo after all the bills are paid (including crazy flood insurance numbers). During our evaluation process, there was a shooting at one of them. We hadn't made an offer yet, so we bumped our number down quite a bit. In chaos, there is opportunity.

That's called being opportunistic. Good call Tead. Land baron, huh? :laughtwo: I'll remember that if I ever decide to move to the swamplands. That's not a fair characterization. Forgive my Yankee ignorance. :battingeyelashes:

Must be extremely difficult to walk that line of giving people something (housing) while taking (their hard earned rent money). I can't imagine being a landlord- but probably you're hiring a middle-man?

I was a landlord (one tenant) in my first house.

The hardest part was coming home to a broken toilet in the rental and a broken sink in our house and realizing I had to fix their toilet before fixing my sink.

Oh no... a middle man would remove most of income it produces. I do hire for electrical and plumbing work... sometimes larger projects, but mostly it's just me.
We usually pick up houses that need a good bit of work... so Tead can be a busy guy at times.

It's not something I usually bring up here, but since you guys are chatting about it...

In our little city it's quite possible to pick up properties that have been abused in various ways for quite a bit less than they would normally be worth. One might fix and flip such properties, or one can use them as a source of income.

It's an easy math exercise really. Your monthly costs (mortgage/insurance/whatnot) = 'X', your income from rent = 'Y'. As long an 'Y' is significantly larger than 'X', you should be looking at an income producer. Not really rocket science... as long as you can calculate 'X' properly.

Tead lives in one side of a "shotgun double"... you might call it a "duplex". The income the other side produces has been paying the entire cost of owning both halves for many years now allowing Tead to live for free from the very beginning.

Of course, there are many nuances and issues... but as long as one stays very conservative with one's calculations, it can be quite a lucrative configuration.

There are plenty of maintenance issues of course, but I always try to mitigate such issues by using very durable building techniques.

Of course, I could always just go get a job and work for someone else, but I sure like being my own boss.

Once you've gotten to the point where you found a winning formula to the baptism by fire that an entrepreunial lifestyle can be, there's really no turning back. Working for someone else may sound like an option, but it never really is a happy one.

OMG Tead. That type of opportunistic insanity is on display here in The Burgh every winter when they jump into the freezing rivers. Hahaha!

University California Berkeley had a 'Naked Guy' in the late 80's
(after the Rainbow Afro Guy finished his 15 years at UC Berkeley Sater Gate.)

Naked guy attended all his classes and graduated without wearing clothes.
He rode his bicycle to and from class, and shopped at coffee shops naked.
There were photos in the paper and on social media.

Since he was a buff guy from Rio De Janeiro, no one minded very much :)
