Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Oh look... they're slightly less dark when munching on lighter colored material... little bastards!

Here I was, casually scrolling down the list and you caught my eye. Of course, you're always one of my first choices, but here you are needing a hug and a reminder that they're, in the end, just tiny earthlings trying to make it through their day Tead. :battingeyelashes:

:hug::hug::hug:

Did you squish him? At the very least I'd have chucked him far from where I found him. :laughtwo:

Did you squish him?

No... I stomped on them and laughed meniacly rubbing my hands together like a 007 madman. Found quite a few of the beasties on another 'mato plant. I suspect there's no saving them. Doesn't really matter... the heat is on and they're starting to die off fairly quickly. One plant's still hanging on, but their days are very numbered.

No way to grow them protected from the heat? What a shame. There're few things as delightful as tomatoes warm and ripe off the vine. I keep forgetting you live in bug heaven. :laughtwo:

Not really. Temps with the direct sun are already hitting 120f. Honestly, they've lived longer than they usually last. Around here, you have to get them going as soon as any freeze threat is past. They did really well this year and I got lots of fruit of them, so I really have no room to complain.
You can cover them with some of that garden-shade fabric stuff... but that's an enormous pita and way too much for a lazy gardener.
I'm sure happy there are plenty of markets nearby... if I had to live off my garden I'd waste away damn quick.

Oh my gosh Tead, I never fail to get some great belly laughs in when I stop by. No wonder I adore you

Meanwhile a mere 500ish miles away my Cherokee Purple mater plants are only 26" tall and just now blooming, and further north to my family in WI, they just planted.

Lol. Up here 4,500 miles away, we're just starting out. With long daylight hours everything makes up for lost time very quickly though. Drop your garden tool or whatever and you'd better pick it up again, because next week you'll have a hell of a time finding it in the jungle.

Gallo Winery Modesto used to get 'attention' for using jeeps to drive around on top of their tanks, so they reduced the size of their tanks

Can you spot the railroad tank cars ?

Even bigger tank cars... oh man... you know we're talking quality!

A garden in recovery mode...

This is an Osmo that I moved into flower. Too early, but gotta try to feed the need. You can see Betty hiding behind a leaf in a "Eve-like" pose.

Some peat-pellet clones. No roots outside the pellets yet, but I'm patiently waiting. I kinda lost track of how old they are, but they came from the 2L. One leaf shows some damage but new growth is starting and it looks fine. I would expect to see some legs any day now.

This is a clone taken from the 2L. She had some nice legs when I put her in. She's a ways from the magic time when her roots hit the bottom, but she's looking fine so far.

Here's my 2L. She's in burn recovery still with lots of fan leaves clipped, but her new growth looks fine. Sorry for the focus, the fan was blowing her around.

Grinder cleaning... used alcohol. 3 different grinders full of multi-year build up from all sorts of various strains. It's been quite yummy for a few days now.

That's the garden... such as it is. Still waiting for my seed shipment.

Do you generally reuse your perlite, Tead? I seem to remember you explaining your cleaning process once- maybe it was in a conversation with JoJo - who has joined the ranks of the mysteriously disappeared. I know it can be done, but do you?
I made a seed order with Herbies too- some Y Griega, after Graytail talked it up on his journal.

Yup... bleach.
I use about 2 cups in a pot. Plug the hole, dump in the bleach, fill with water, mix the soup around a bit, let it sit for a few hours, rinse the begeezus out of it.
Bits of root can be a pain to get rid of. I dry the perl completely first. This makes removing the bits easier. Plus, I rinse the mix so many times that I have plenty of chance to pick out any root bits that remain.

So... Friday morning random joy...

I went to put a clone in a pot of perlite this morning. It was re-used perlite. I thought it had been cleaned and flushed well. Alas I was very wrong. The drawback of using milk.... sour disgusting smelling pots if you forget to flush it out good at the end of a grow.
Tossed the smelly perlite into the veg garden and started with fresh.

Looking at my SWICKs yesterday I realized I probably need to do this at some point. I've polluted the reservoirs with drenches, although they don't smell, so is that something I should even concern myself with? I guess not. The surface is all green now :laughtwo:

Nice concentrate adventure Tead. I have some waiting for me to be through the sensitization protocol. Can't wait to hit it. Sunday at noon can't get here soon enough. Lol!

so is that something I should even concern myself with?

One could go with the blanket concept... "couldn't hurt".
Of course, that's not very scientific.
We're dealing with water here.... water that evaporates and leaves a residue behind consisting of whatever was in the water. The detective part of my brain tells me that getting rid of this residue is probably a good thing.
So... yea, couldn't hurt.

Sunday at noon can't get here soon enough.

I'll bet!

So you just poured the alcohol over the grinder? Did you freeze the alcohol first? Particulars. We need particulars. I have such a grinder sitting here, waiting for me to do something special with it.

Grinders have always concerned me. I'm stingy with my trichomes and it always bothered me to know how much I was leaving behind. It never occurred to me to do a wash on it. What a wonderful idea! Thank you Tead. I'm gonna have to give you reps for that. :high-five:
