Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Thanks for the live feed. Wow! You're such a valuable friend to hang with. Always something different.

I suspect the snowy caps have more to do with the talented cultivator coaxing them out of the strain. :battingeyelashes: He keeps that bar high.

He keeps that bar high.

I'd like to have a drink or two at that bar!

I really want to... but I've had huge monsters knocked out in a heartbeat.
I'll relate a sad tale of woe...
I had a chance to do some outdoor growing. I ran a Crit+ into a tree by planting early. Had it totally trained sideways and had about 6 feet of sideways plant shoot up a big row of buds. Rain, of course, came along after the heat really hit. Small to medium buds. All destroyed. Not a single piece was salvaged. Happened overnight. I burned a huge pile of bud rot stuff in the burn pile one day as I shed some significant tears.

There are other stories of indoor plants being taken out. It really does form a tough backdrop upon which everything else must play out.

I've been curious and I want to dig in a bit. What exact process does the oil do that causes the irritation? Do you know? Perhaps there are other ways to cause similar "irritation".

I'll track some down later. Right now we're playing miniature golf

So... on my first cup 'o joe.
First post I looked at.
I'm not quite sure what to make of a miniature golf reference... but I suspect I'll discover it shortly. Looking forward to my discovery.

You'd asked about the effect we were trying to cause with the essential oils. 36Gr0w shared this with me. It's what I wanted to share with you. I was playing miniature golf at the time you posted the question. My very first time on a golf course of any kind. Fun, but I'm not much for games. I'd rather get high and take a walk while having a spirited conversation. Anyway, here you go:

Enjoy. I'm on my way to bed now. I get so involved in answering deep questions I forget I need to sleep myself. It's 4:19. I'm on my way to sleep and you're up and at 'em. :laughtwo: I'll be back after the body gets some rest.

And now for something completely different....
(Monty Python Rox!)

I just freakin love the day after a feeding! I had been doing some habitual underfeeding for a while. Correcting that mistake sure makes the day after really awesome.
The 5gal girl is up to ~16ml of bloom juice and still seems to be asking for more. I'll probably jump her to 20ml on the next feeding. Big plants are fun!

Hmmm i would say if you use like a mountain dew bottle, not those funny shaped coke bottles, i personally would put the by the bottom of the label or maybe a few centimeters higher to account for the weird shape bottom. Haven't run a hempy 2-liter yet cause i was using the 1.75liter juice bottles i had on hand and they are square so its a little different but I put the hole on those about 2-2.5 inches up. Im sure you could get some really nice colas in a 2-liter with proper training. I am fond of lst while growing in 2-liter but that was more for the fact i use cfls then anything to do with the 2-liters lol.

plant on the left was grown in a drain to waste 2-liter in a mixpeat moss soil less mix and lots of added perlite. I ended up having to clone that plant due issues i believe I was having with the peat moss mix throwing the ph off but its decent size for being in a 2-liter i just wouldnt advise going much bigger.
Kool Cat, that's the name that was given to the master (IMHO of 2 liter grows) look up his journals. Long healthy clones str8 to perlite (i think) and grew massive Colas. That is all for now..continue. I'll look for a link and post it.

I don't live in Florida..anymore, but growing in Perlite only in hot climates will cause root rot, because of the rezevouir not keeping cool temps, sun and surrounding temps cause the water and nutes to stay warm= less oxygen and more bacteria. Just my 2 Cents on that subject... If you could drop the (if you haven't already) pot into the ground it would help keep the temps lower around the roots. Continue..

Welcome along CK. Love to have an experienced eye around. I was noticing your footprints and felt sorry for you... reading all those boring pages. I hope you found something useful.

Flushing was the only "down fall" to the Osmo from what I remember...'tis all..continue

I've been ignoring that issue. I plan to try to dig out whatever little balls I can get out... but I believe the only real thing I can do is just not add any near the end. I wish there were some agent that would eat them up.

I've been following quite a few 2L growers. I've been reluctant to go small, but it's starting to sink in.

Can't imagine doing the dance in the sunlight. Bad enough in the shed under the hot lights. Just drug the babies out for some natural light photos.

My appologize for ending with "contine" I guess I've been watching too many episodes of some shit that ended with "conitnue" maybe a cooking show with some a-hole. But anyhow, I did follow a few grows with the Ozmow and they all ended in the same tone, Heat+water=too much nutes=nutrient block=Deficiency all all sorts. In the end flushing the product out just was a struggle. My own experience with growing in 100% perlite, ended real bad outdoors...Root rot got 2 nice girls, and that is why I would pitch you the idea of sticking the buckets under ground for protection and maybe even go as far as sticking a tube for watering (like a Earth Box) in to the bucket and the top covered by some sort of Mylar or such to keep the sun from cooking the roots. I've enjoyed reading through your journal and leaving my footprints all over it. Peace, love and respect from your "grow bro" CISCOKID.

Thanks CK.
I've pondered the idea of outdoor hempy pots before, but there are a lot of variables that make it unappealing. I hadn't even thought of the pot heat issue yet. Outdoor grows in the swamp really present some challenges, but I sure have seen some monsters around here. All the heat and sunlight cause some large growth. I always have challenges with bud rot and insects when I try an outdoor grow.
