Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Nice find Tead, you could probably set a frying pan over both of those lights and saute up a crawdad etoufee.

I would love to have found them, but I am a hoarder at heart. I am glad my better half doesnt come down to the basement and ee what it has become!

Maybe not a etouffee... but I might be able to simmer some beans and rice.
Really, it doesn't seem any warmer than the smaller ones.

Which one of these
is not like the others...

I was suffering Sesame Street flashbacks too. Singing that little ditty after I put the bulb in. Twisted minds apparently think alike.

Weird, but I bet the plant sitting under that bulb is laughing at the others.
I suspect the other bulbs are all feeling quite 'inadequate'. Lumen envy. Like penis envy... only brighter.

One more Mardi Gras related note....

Coming down for the joy? Need a friendly comfortable and relatively inexpensive rental for a few nights?
I happen to have a very 420 friendly space you can reserve....

I don't really see any of my 420Mag friends being the Mardi Gras type... but I wanted to toss it out there just in case.
I have been down to New Orleans 4 times so far. Mardi Gras twice but I prefer other times. How about reserving some space for me for jazzfest lol.

Love me some Jazzfest. Such a cool crowd comes to town. It's a refreshing change from the MG crowd that tends to be less enjoyable lot as visitors go.

Mardi Gras was fun when I was 22. But even then it got old fast. Too many girls crying because of being basically assaulted. A bunch of idiots would surround someone and start screaming at them to see their boobs. Sometimes getting physical. Was tough to see. It's an animal fest. After three days I felt guilty to be a man.
Other times we have been there it is just the most charming city, beautiful and dark, old and weathered, bright and vibrant. It is an exercise in contradictions, each one more interesting than the next.

Dark, but very true Shiggs.
Locals don't go into those areas during MG. When I was much younger and newer to NOLA, I witnessed such things... and many others... much darker. I've pointed the cops in the direction of especially ugly things before... no good will come of involving one's self in these things.
This, and the general crowds are reasons you would never catch me in the French Quarter during MG.
Big parades do not roll thru the FQ and are MUCH safer affairs. Family friendly mostly.... depending on the parade and where you hit them. I do a few parades a year thru the season. The ones before MG weekend are my favorites. Muses.... Krew de Vieux... maybe even Barkus.

Ahem, ahem.
That's my online attention getting cough.

Photos and Pheedings...

Good lord my feeding scheme has become complicated. 4 different mixes. Dammit!
Flower up to 3tsp. Veg at 2. 4th gear fed at 2tsp flower juice. Clear water with Cal and Mag for the Osmos. 1/8tsp mix for the clone and spray can. Sheesh!

Betty of course... temps are rising in my corner of the world.

The veg tent. 5gal girl in back. OsmoGirl front left. OsmoGirl2 front right. Clone in cup screaming hard at me to plant her.

Flowering girls. 3rd gear on right. 4th gear on left.

A closeup of 3rd gear. Naturally grown bud tops always remind me of roses.

You did not say crawdad did ya?

Really? PM me if you're serious... I'll happily supply the details.

I was joking.
Been there done that.
The best MG are outside of NOLA anyway. I haven't been in 12 years. Wow. I'm old.
Last one was in New Iberia.

Wow... so I was reading Cajun's crawdad words and I thought I had let some of my childhood sneak thru and actually said crawdad.
Phew!
Shiggs... we'll give you a pass on this one. I didn't even catch it.

Never been out to New Iberia for their dance. My sweetie and I have been out for 2 or 3 years to see the smaller ones. I really enjoy them. I hear tell Mobile likes to try to compete... that will probably be the next one. Not really a small city one, but I've been curious.

Another MG note for the uninitiated.... try the weekend before the MG weekend/Fat Tuesday. It's WAY less crowded but still offers all the MG attractions. It's a much better option... unless you want to swim in the crowds.

Oh no I feel like I just said a bad word at the dinner table as a kid and all the grown ups are staring at me! So do I need to say crayfish or crawfish? I do love them and am an awesome cook! If you cut my arm open I bleed mirepoix and hot sauce.

I had to look up Mirepoix. Fun. We have something similar locally... onion, celery, and green bell peppers. We call it "Cajun Trinity".
Crawfish are the mudbugs that grow down here in the brackish swamp waters. Crawdads grow in fresh water streams and lakes, but are much smaller than crawfish. They might actually be the same mudbug.... just grow differently in the swamps.

I think I learned the word mirepoix from chef prudhommes cookbook. So I definitely meant the Cajun version not the French one with carrots lol. Cajun food like many other great cuisines grew out of poor folk using the cuts of meat and things that were available inexpensively. Now we see it elevated to a higher cuisine.all the foods I really love are descended from poor folk doing the best with what they have.

Gotcha. Chef Paul passed the other day. He really was the core of many Cajun cuisine traditions. Sorry to see him go of course, but wish him well on his journey!
I think the poor folk tradition exists in every neck of the woods. It's just natural of course... folks have been making lemonade from lemons forever after all. We just happen to have some very unique sources of lemons down here.
