Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

No worries Lex. She had a big ring of roots around the bottom of the small cup I had her in. She'll be much happier in the 2L.
I've been tempted to try the 2L grows since following you and others that do it. I like the small footprint and feel I should be able to get quite a bit from such a small size. Very appealing.
My garden at the moment is a bit of a study in sizes. 2L, 3gal, 3.5gal fat bottom, 5gal girl. I suspect I might find myself doing the extremes as time goes by... 5gal and 2L... but we'll see what I like more.

Ya ok lol i thought you were saying that 2-liter plant was rootbound i totally missed the part where you said it was in a cup lol. Ya know I think growing in small containers is a good way to make the most of little spaces.

So, I was having a love affair with my 5gal girl this morning. I wanna veg her out for a few more weeks. I need to check her lower trunk for any suckers I want to trim off.

She's just looking so wonderful. OH! I might have to start thinking about how tall she's gonna get.... hmmm..... I might have to push her out sooner.

I took a tiny clip from a sugar leaf of 3rd gear and tried to capture it with my camera....

Not great... but it gives a rough idea. When I looked thru my little handheld microscope, I see about 20% amber, 20% clear, and 60% cloudy.

I love a man who can think creatively in a pinch. You're definately located in the correct geographical spot. :laughtwo: Never missed a beat, did you? :high-five: Great storytelling too Tead. This is why I hang around. :battingeyelashes:

So, I'm curious, what trichome ratio do you shoot for? I'm still learning this part of cultivation, but my soil also plays by different rules. My plants take forever to go amber. I like a zippy buzz, as zippy as I can get, so I usually shoot for that time when suddenly I notice they're almost all cloudy. I think it might be time to invest in a better loupe too, since the one I have isn't very strong. It does the job, but just marginally.

Good luck with the 2 ltr plant. Did you cut off the circling roots or just plant them as is? If I let mine go too long like that I tend towards trimming off the lower inch or so with a root saw (bonsai tools from my late husband).

Humidity in my veg tent has been down in the 30's. Here's a y'at answer to a little humidity....
Coffee cup warmer. Water in the cup.

Delightful!! How effectively does this work? It must work well enough or you wouldn't have shared it, but have you quantified the change at all?

Nope... didn't miss a single beat. Actually caught both hardware problems the instant they occurred... I spend way to much time poking at my plants.

I usually want to see a lot of amber trichomes. I like my girl to sit me back a bit and deliver a strong "couch-lock" kinda high. To each their own and all. I have the added bonus of growing and smoking the same cloned plant for many years. My scope is shitty too... but the amber is really easy to pick out.

I didn't cut the roots. Didn't even think of it. Damn. Probably wouldn't have done it anyway 'cuz I'm a coward... but feel stupid for not even seeing it as an option. I did stretch them out as much as I could and spread them out some as I put her in the medium.

Happy you enjoyed the story. It was a very sweet and awesome moment that I just have no words that can serve justice to it.

It took a while to warm the water some. It seems to have dropped about 1/2 inch so far. It seems to maintain the humidity between my sprayings some. I just plugged it in this morning. I have done it before tho.

I got a pocket microscope X60-X100 magnification and it does pretty well. Didn't cost that much i think it was under $20 on the "amazon rainforest" site lol

I want something nerdly I can hook up to my pc or phone. Seen some cheap phone ones... just gotta shake the dust outta my change purse.

I hear ya. :laughtwo:

I would recommend to avoid the microscope route. The ones for phone hookup have a really small field of view. I went on the Brazilian rainforest site and found an "8 in 1 clip on lens kit". It will be the first one that comes up if you search that phrase. It had two nice macro lenses. A 10x and a 19x. All the pics of trichomes in my hunger games thread come from that lens kit and one of the two macro lenses. The 10x is great for more depth of focus and the 19x is great for real close in shots.

Ya it is lol its not high tech but it does the job lol

I like the looks of that one. Don't need high tech, unless you want to do high tech things with it. The clip on lenses are really good for taking those sweet close ups of the trichomes though. Shiggity does those so well it gives me shivers sometimes. :laughtwo:
