Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

Would you grind the 7g of weed and strain the oil at the end? Grind before decarb?

When I decarb ahead of making oil I don't grind until after the buds are done decarbing. They're easier to grind then. Yes, strain the oil after. The only time I don't strain oil is when I make brownies. I make those oils up fresh per pan and keep the finely ground plant material in the mix. Extra fiber and no loss of cannabinoids. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Tead grows weary of craptastic power strips....

Step1... assemble parts.
DSCN5332.JPG

Step 2... wire them all together... possibly using the 'completely random' method of putting wires together, or possibly by reading the color code markings on everything and tying all the same colors together.... depends on your mood.
DSCN53352.JPG

Step 3.... plug it in and see what explodes!
DSCN53372.JPG

No explosions today... how boring.

Off to trot my antiques past appraisers later this morning. A review of the Antiques Roadshow info shows that they don't accept bicycles.... bitches! Got me a Japanese WWII era fly fishing rod instead.

Tead,

While your out, stop by the hardware store and pick up two GFCI outlets. We work around a lot of water in our rooms and i would hate to see you electrocute yourself when a couple of 12$ plugs could keep ya from it.
I have grown to enjoy this journal and i would hate to see it come to an end without explanation, or worse. Plus your an alright dude.

Have fun today Tead.

Good idea. When I read that Guage, I had to smile. When Dale wired in the circuit that I now use for my grow it was for the express purpose of supplying power to his growing Tillandsia collection, which brought a lot of water into play with soaking and misting, so all of the outlets he installed in those areas were GFCIs.

It was almost like the cosmos orchestrated this safe and secure power access for an enterprise I wasn't even aware was ahead of me. And now I never think about it. That peace of mind was well worth the extra cost of the outlets.

The though had occurred. The USB outlet plugs came in a 2 pack and I wasn't thinking at the store.
I'll swap the primary outlet with a GFI and slave the USB outlet to it.

How dare you folks hold my feet to the fire and suggest I do things as I should!

Thanks baby... you're spot on.

1 cup olive oil mixed with 14g decarbed bud and good trim material. 170f for 4 hrs stirred and crushed often.
First batch of cream created with 2ml oil mixed in.

DSCN5346.JPG

Made about 1cup oil minus a touch. Used 1tsp sunflower lecithin. The cream is in the upper right.

Oh gawd... I've been finger licking. It took multiple tries to get this photo... like 5. Gotta go now.

Tead apparently hit the oil a bit too hard yesterday... slept in 'til after 6am this morning! Crazy

Hey man, today marked 18 days for the dog poo bag girls. 50% success rate. Got them all upcanned, just waiting for them to get adjusted.

Awesome!
Mine got taken out by an AC failure and some 106f temps. Plants lived, but seeds and clones took a hit.
I've got some ideas in place for fixing the issue... but life's very busy these days.

Fantastic job on the oil and cream :thumb:

Which strain did you choose for the job?

Bumped into a DIY air conditioner video yesterday and thought of you. I forget linking rules, would just ask you to search "box fan copper coil" for the video. Possibly something you've seen before... I may end up making a small one for myself, hitting the mid 90s daily.

Pfft, a guy complaining to Tead about heat!

Wishing you lots of smiles and laughs today, good sir!

Thanks!
No reports back from the cream usage yet. I handed some to a neighbor that had just 'rolled' her ankle and it was totally puffed and bruised.... gave some to the massage therapist... haven't handed any to the older woman on my list yet, she's been busy.

I used remnants and secondary bud material with some good trimmings tossed in. I know it was heavily OGK... a hard hitting indica.... probably at least 1/2. The other half was bits and pieces of mostly sativas (Pineapple Chunk, Critical+2.0, and Blue Dream).
I can see one getting fancy with it and creating pure stuff... but it was my first run at oil and meant for topical application rather than ingestion.

Ya know... Tead's a tinkerer.... a lazy tinkerer, but a tinkerer none the less. I've tried things ranging from a swamp cooler (too humid) to dry ice configurations. I've even tinkered with DIY water chillers (don't bother unless you only need like 5 degrees).
In all those entertaining side trips Tead's never run across a solution that works in his world other than a decent sized AC. You know damn well I'd like to cut that $100 chunk of the utility bill all day long... but I can find no feasible way in a world that I need to cool by at least 20 degrees.
Gonna have to come up with something soon tho... the quickest of power blinks shuts my AC off and it doesn't come back on automatically. Daily afternoon thunder storms have been killin me!

Spent the day digging and installing sewer lines and vents. Ugh! So much digging.... don't younger folk usually do such things?
Good day tho.... 2x 24' sewer runs. 3 vents moved from outside runs to in-the-wall runs that even required large tools for breaking concrete.... don't get to do that often. Toilet and shower drains installed. Pipe hangers installed. Sand laid over it all. All ready for a fresh slab of concrete.

Tomorrow will be wall and trim repair from my evicted tenant. Nice easy inside work with plenty of AC. Hell... I might wear shorts and sandals.

We got a break in the weather today, 75F with 60% humidity (much better than the 95F and 85 RH yesterday,) so I've been laying pavers in the back yard -Trying to lay a doughnut shape around the fountain without having a good center point to inscribe a circle.

My wife came out and said, it's just for us, no need to be perfect - once she said that things sped up quite a bit :) I still am taking breaks after an hour or so in the sun, so probably only got 5 hours of actual work in today :)

A/C that stays off sucks! Can you find a non-digital A/C unit or override the unit with a mechanical thermostat?

And Tead, I would do just that....... show those legs and stay cool...

Did you just compare Tead's legs with chicken legs!!!
