Tead's Indoor-ish, Winter, Hempy, OGK, SOG

That makes sense. I wasn't considering lack of sunlight. So this system is just a double redundancy, but you still are tied to your city? And if that fails, you have batteries, and when they begin to discharge you have sun to recharge, and if that fails you have a genny to fill the batteries back up.

Thoughts?

Solar panels on the roof should keep your grow rooms cooler :)

The only connection this system has to house power is the connection to the back of the battery charger... that single piece will be powered by the house.

An updated image of the layout....

Indeed. It would need to be a pretty fancy mounting job to get the angle... but perhaps. The drawing is arranged logically... not for spatial purposes.

Happy I caught it before the sun went down....

A serious ongoing threat. The perlite topping only goes so far and the rain doesn't help at all. The lawn was crunching with them as I walked across it.

Kraize was saying he grows in raised beds with a copper strip along the top to discourage the slimey set. Would something like that work in your world?

I say son ! Put you some chickens in that yard, let em eat ! A room full of ladies and a yard full of some fine feathered hens... whoa I can't take it...... Ole Rooster easing on down the street..... :peace:

Lover your name Rooster! My call sign for many years was Rooster. Retired as Rooster7!

Depends on what he likes eating!

Hmmmm.....
I wonder if gators have any impact on snail populations?
Then again, I suspect I might be missing a pup pretty quickly... perhaps I'll stay with safer options.

I feel like they're well established inside the garden timbers that enclose the garden. A ring around the outside would be pointless. I've tried some copper rings around the base of plants, but saw little effect. Considering how many are around after a rain, I'm shocked we haven't found a way to consume them.
Alas, I think the best I can do is control them some. The perlite has removed about 90% of them, so I'm actually really happy about the current population, but they are voracious little beasties.

Only place for true tobacco in the world... You know you can always use canna-infused budder to fry that sucker up in and it will be called medicines? Still woodn't catch me eating that nasty thing.. Period... Have a Good 4th,,, don't blast any fingers off. today.

You know what they don't have here in Portland?? A BBQ truck... Nothing special, just something with pulled pork and slaw. Shit, you could get 2-3 for 5 bucks on all the food trucks.. All they have here is mainly Mexican food trucks.

I miss my swine and frog legs off the trucks. Here about all they got is this Firehouse BBQ joint. And they want like 10 bucks for a pulled pork and the food kind of sucks anyways. Enjoy the simple things... A good brick of firecrackers, and bottle rockets and a BBQ swine sandwich... Oh and you you lucky dawg,,, you get them gulf prawns. I mean them big ones fried with elephant garlic and butter... Or even battered and deep fried on a stick,,,, Man I'm getting hungry. I've had this pork shoulder in the slow cooker for 6 hours now and the smell is to die for now. And 6 more to go and I do have the slaw and buns... Corn on the Cob and cauliflower in some cheese sauce.. Keepem Green

I just can't even begin to tell you the joy that was experienced when Tead made his way from PDX to the south and discovered a real rack of ribs. I remember the Tony Romo chain an the ribs I experienced there.... that was what I thought ribs were. Oh the shame of growing up without proper BBQ!

And now for something completely different.....

The Borg have landed. Damn. It's been years since I've had a visit. Such a PITA.
I have all the weapons on hand... keep them ready just in case. I'll start with a SNS treatment and see how it does compared to my pyrethrin runs.
I have so damn many plants floating around that it's gonna be mind numbing. Meh!
Damn Borg.

Well crap! You don't work with the containment my scattered spaces provide. I believe that was instrumental in getting them under control. Hempies will be easier to treat than soil pots, if that's any consolation. Hitting them with a stream of high-powered water does as much good as anything else, IMO. I had to go to naked gardening and fresh harvest infused oil to eliminate them. It's hard to garden naked when the garden is in the yard. :laughtwo:

I got biz to take care of for a few hours this morning, but when I get back, the purge begins....

Remove plants

Spray both areas with most toxic mix possible. Cover lights, cords, power supplies with a fine mist. Coat all surfaces possible with a dripping stream. Go completely nuclear in all ways possible on the grow area surfaces. Mist shed containing grow rooms. Mist area outside grow shed.

Clean and mist areas inside the house where plant material was handled. Dry box. Desk. Even my damn keyboard and mouse.

Spray down porch and top of chest freezer.

After grow areas have dried, spray light bleach rinse around and wipe surfaces dry.

Spray plants coating all surfaces of plant and container with a generous amount. Pull buds open some and spray all hidden surfaces.

Return plants to garden.

Shower and change clothes.

Wait one day and do it all again.

Wait another day and check... if nothing more seen, I'd be a lucky Tead. I suspect a third round may be called for.

Shit.

Tead reads these words from Wikipedia....

Hot, dry conditions are often associated with population build-up of spider mites. Under optimal conditions (approximately 80 °F or 27 °C), the two-spotted spider mite can hatch in as little as 3 days, and become sexually mature in as little as 5 days. One female can lay up to 20 eggs per day and can live for 2 to 4 weeks, laying hundreds of eggs. This accelerated reproductive rate allows spider mite populations to adapt quickly to resist pesticides, so chemical control methods can become somewhat ineffectual when the same pesticide is used over a prolonged period.[3]

I'm a good bit warmer than 80f, but I still should have seen this before today. Shame on me. I just never see them so one kinda stops looking. Plus I've had a few overheats due to a failing power piece.

I heard you. I've slacked off myself. I'll be more vigilant from here on out. They make you pr blood go cold just thinking about them.
