Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

My little cob-lets had a slight sweat today and I opened them after 26 hours (they stayed between 98f-114f). Do I unwrap the cob to dry now? or do I just let the whole "wrap" stay together to dry as a unit?

If its wet you want to dry with some paper towel. Then seal back up and start the fermentation. Only unwrap if you feel the need to take a peak then wrap back up for the fermentation.

Ok, lets throw some humor in here......

If a person was planning a plane trip and wanted to take their cob along I have an idea. Stop at the local hospital and get clear Bio-Hazard bag. Place cob in bag and a attach a label that says " Stool Sample ". I am thinking it may make it through inspection with out even being opened.... LOL

That worked. Lol!

I was going to suggest you open and surface dry, but with cob-lets I think I'd probably open to inspect, then re-wrap within a half hour.

Unless they're real wet Gov. How wet are they?

Wait, you're going into the fermentation stage, correct? Unwrap to inspect, re-wrap and let surface fpdry, then seal them up and get them into the heat again.

I dried the inside of the vac bag and let the still-wrapped cob sit out to dry for about an hour. They are re-sealed and sitting in a potential spot to cure for the next few weeks unmolested. BTW, I did NOT unwrap it. I'll get what I get.

My only regret is that I didn't/haven't bothered to document my path with pictures since I can't really post them here any more (don't worry, I've accepted it now). But the density of the cobs and the smells after only 26 hours was promising.

That smell only gets better Gov. :battingeyelashes: You can't post pictures? I'm sorry to hear that.

I know this isn't definitive I am sure if you try really hard you can produce a cob full of bad mold and organisms but if your not brain dead you will be safe.
Sorry for the harsh words haven't had my medicine yet ha ha.

@tangwena , thank you for sharing the lab results with us. See? All that craziness brought us this. :battingeyelashes: I get all excited when lab reports pop up. Couldn't pass this one by. Lol!

So, a Malawi cob report is in order, I suppose.

The cobs aren't anywhere near the sweet spot yet, but they are adding a new energy to what other cannabis I'm consuming. Today that was hits of Blue Dream, for the most part. I'm noticing the smell sweetens with each unwrapping. I don't know about the rest of you but I get really excited when I cut that bag open. Lol!

I chewed both pieces, about four hours apart. It was an upbeat, energetic day. After a fair amount of running around with the daughter I ended up back here at the apartment, moving from one task to another until I stepped back hours later and shook my head at all I'd accomplished.

This is gonna work out well for this vibrant little grandma on the banks of the Mighty Mon. :slide: I have a few big projects coming up that I believe I'll schedule for cob tasting moments.

So what was today like, you ask? Mostly moving fast. Lol! I'm intrigued at the way the cobs add that wonderous edge to my euphoria. I can't wait to have a broader selection of cobs to choose from. What I really can't wait for is a cob of my Carnival. :green_heart:

I will admit that two chews in such a short span may have been a bit excessive. The tiredness seeping into my bones right about now may be attributable to that excess. I may choose to call it a night earlier than usual tonight. Lol! I'll learn to listen to Tangwena and slow it down a tad.

Hahaha! I forgot to say I chewed in the shower this morning, Sue! Definitely makes a different in my day. Still not strong though. Kinda makes me feel like I am falling slowly. Like that feeling in your stomach when you go over a speed bump. I am at least 100 days away from a decent sativa and 200 away from a decent cob.... It will be good times!

Falling slowly.... Lol! I think I know what you mean. I find my cob routine goes thusly: begin chewing while I'm waking up, jump in the shower while chewing, finish chewing before I finish the shower so I can brush the oral cavity clean, then dry off and get to meditation.

I really like meditating about an hour after I start chewing. It's changed the flavor of my meditation practice to something much quieter than before I started cobs. I'm hoping that doesn't change as they mature. If so I'll change the schedule to accomodate meditation.

Somehow I feel like they won't change like that.

I wish I had time to meditate. I was a big fan of yoga for a while but I am so freakin' busy.... I always tell myself...oneday I will make it a real part of my life. I want to start again this summer. When I have time to spare. . . last year I got lazy..... they don't call me lazyfish for nuthin'...haha... but really I am not the lazy type .... but I really wanna do yoga EVERY DAY. I just have to DO IT!

Heres to you , Sue

Cheers,

:passitleft:

You are not the typical cookie baking grandma, that’s for sure. Lol

I imagine you as a retired tattooed biker chick. :D

I'd be willing to guess that she's seen plenty of them over the years.

Someone asked about an indica cob and the response was that it didn't improve the product all that much, did I remember that correctly? I'm wondering, though... I can use the pain relief - and the aid to sleep wouldn't hurt, either - but never cared for the general mental "hit." So what I'm wondering is if it would at least maintain the level of the positives while possibly reducing the negatives.

Probably not, I guess?

Thanks lazyfish..... :passitleft: ....... a pass-through on my way to bed. :passitleft: @BigBearNTexas , here ya go......:passitleft:

I have tattoos, but I was far from a biker babe. We had a studio. The husband tattooed, I ran the business and did the art. It worked until he couldn't work anymore and then it was done. Somewhere in my Spot thread there are pictures.

He looked like a biker, but he never even owned a bike. I looked like me. :battingeyelashes: And yes, I'm not your typical grandma. Lol!

Goodnight gentlemen. See you all tomorrow.

He looked like a biker, but he never even owned a bike.

Huh. I don't look like a biker - but have owned 'em. Wish I owned one now. Well, not now - but when all this Noah weather passes.

I had to be "different" (for my area) with them, too. Mine didn't leak oil and were pretty quiet (most of them ;) ). Basically, I just never got into Harleys, lol.

I just wanna bust a chunk off of that & dip it in honey and just chew it for a nice long while!!! MMMMM:volcano-smiley:

Hey. HEEEEYYYY. Honey. Hmm... That stuff is keeping me alive, lol (well, it's part of my po' folks medicine kit, anyway). There's a thought.

Thanks, man.
