Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

For those of you worried about the lifeforms living on your finished cob, I suppose you could blast it with UV light like is used to sterilize surgical equipment. I watched a seminar on Green Flower where a Dutch company grows like one strain for it's chemical make up in a very controlled environment. They consider it pharmaceutical grade so when the harvest is done they blast it with UV light to kill any lifeforms on the medicine.

You thought I was merely exercising my fingers, perhaps?

I'm at the point where I just don't want any more pain. That's pretty much my sole motivation any more. Well, that and a familial duty that does not allow me the luxury of exiting stage left.

Yeah, I was afraid that was the case (and kind of expected it to be). Sucks; I was hoping someone would have an idea - and that it would translate to regular non-molested bud.

I'm about through with all this pot crap anyway. It's rarely done much, and never done anything for more than a few minutes. It's just all a bunch of hope hope hope wait wait wait stress stress stress FUCKING DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I've got disappointments aplenty that don't carry the risk of getting arrested. So, yeah, I'm about done.

Dosing TS. It’s all about proper dosing, and I’m sorry, but smoking does little for pain management other than buy you a few minutes of relief.

You seriously live too far from my door TS. To be so close and so unreachable in moments like this..... :hugs::hugs::hugs:

If we can get you growing again with some successful harvesting you’ll stand a much better chance of getting real relief. Pain management is a special creature, with rules of ratios and dose limits we’re unaccustomed to.

Chewing my morning cob as I prepare for a budwashing. I’ve noticed that about five minutes or so into a chewing it’s like my whole system goes “Huh!” and there’s this deep tremor that vibrates out from my center. Then it passes. It’s done that consistently every time though. Anyone else feeling something akin?

Twelve hours in a sealed glass jar and my thirty hour old harvested OG kush buds are barely pushing over the seventy percent mark. sheesh

MMight be too late already for a qualified attempt at cobbing. hmmm

MMaybe I will wait till the next harvest,, two weeks or so,, a Sativa too,, yumm

MMight be notable to note in a note that one might want to be ready to do the Cob dance quite soon after harvest,, as in the next day,, or perhaps even right away???

I wish, upon a star, that one of y'all will take some brand new fresh cut bud and jar it up to see what, the humidity might be. I would be surprised if the number was much higher than the prescribed eighty five,,

CCheers,,:volcano-smiley:

Awww nivek, I was hoping this would work for you, but you're probably right. :hugs::hugs::hugs: It's only a two-week wait, just like my next one. I feel your pain. Lol!

I have a fresh harvest hanging to drip dry before I convert her buds to FHO.

In three hours I'll be trimming buds into the pot. Before I blend it into the EVOO I'll toss some into a jar with a hygrometer. By then they should be dried close to what they were at harvest. That'll tell us what we deal with after a bud wash.

My Carnival comes down in a couple weeks, and I plan to do a cob on harvest day. Tangwena can advise me before that delicious moment. Most of that plant will be cobbed, as my favorite chemovar it makes no sense to do otherwise. Lol!

Well Sue,, thx for your thots, helps me thru my woes,, oh woe is me,, ya know?

AANyhew, being the impatient patient that I be, I acted impatiently,, go figure

I have not yet aquired a Cob of corn to Cob with,, nor a vacuum sealer to seal with, nor a heating mat to heat with, and i am not even sure I can find some twine to tie the thing up with

MMy woes seem to multiply exponentially as I type

HHowever,, and please friends,, please,, do as I say,, never as I do

I did find an old leaf from some flowers we bot mid winter out by the compost

SSo I wrapped up some seventy five percent OG kush buds in the leaf real tight

TThen I tied it all up with some shoelaces cuz I couldn't find any twine after all. wifey gonna kill me for that one,, her laces

TThen I figured,, fifty years ago when them malawians in malawi were Makin cobs,, they might not have had a vacuum sealer that was reliable

SSo I did the straw in the baggie thingy and sucked like the big sucker that I am, till i could suck no more

TThen I tput it in another baggie and sucked some more

Now it be sittin on top of my hot water tank, the warmest spot in my house,, but i just thot, what if I put it in a sealed rubbermaid thingy and put it in my hot tub,, a perfect 104,, then i can swim with it too,,

WWorkin on that one

Hehehe! I'm looking at my own flowering spaces and rearranging my growing techniques to accomodate cobs while still keeping up with medicinal needs. I see many beautiful sativas in my future.

@Scottay, the day was going wonderfully, tea I the local coffee shop with the daughter followed by a gentle walk to the store for some groceries, appreciating the way these cob buzzes make me feel closer to the elements. It sometimes feels like the whole universe smiles with me. Lol!

I didn't have the brownie until we headed out from the coffee roaster's at three to get groceries. I was coasting along pretty sweet for a bit as we walked home. The day was bright, warm and sunny, and the company sparkling.

We stopped in the local Dollar General for milk and when asked to leave our bags at the front I declined the request and started back to the coolers, to be stopped and asked to leave the store. Evidently being treated like a suspected thief is a requirement to shop there. So I'll no longer be shopping there.

The employee that firmly insisted on leaving is the daughter's partner. Hmmmm...... Something of a buzz kill. Lol! We've spent the past hour crawling through the emotional minefield back to joy, but that's where we sit now, so it's time to reset that Carnival buzz. :slide:

That buzz from the cob lasted until 3 PM, a nice five hours, four of which were filled with a deep sense of "All is well." I'm liking where this is headed. :battingeyelashes:
Happy Easter everybody!! Sorry the store treated you that way. .......you big trouble makin thief and your daughter posse!! Hahaha you guys can come steal from me any time hun!!!! I ain't got much but always willing to share!! Hugggssss. :rollit::volcano-smiley:

Tortured,,,you could toss, a funky bud or cob into ethanol. 40% or higher why complicate things.
Drink the mash, eat what’s left, keep some for smoking. Maybe a nice walk,

So my week of fermentation is done, smell is very very sweet

What do u think?

ACDC cob

Lots of Purple pigment on the husk

Carnival, bit of purple also

Both of them

Here's 48 hour dried Carnival. I made 4 full cobs and 1 canary cob. I want to track moisture loss.

In to the sweat box now.

Happy Easter everyone.

Now that's an interesting thought to put away for future play Marc. Hadn't considered the value of a final wrap in something like a grape leaf.

So..... wanting to infuse some fresh life into less fresh buds......

How about simply tossing some fresh bud material, possibly some stem and fan leaf, bundled up in a piece of silk to keep it seperate but permit lots of airflow, into a big jar with the material you want to cob? Leave it sit together until it hits the humidity levels you desire.

In the back of my mind is a little voice telling me the fresh material would do more good if it was included into the drier stuff. This would be easier if you had a plant of the same chemovar you were trying to reinvigorate.
Ok. Alt.cob.older.buds//////

Easy first.
On could always, dilute fresh buds for, cob, with 5 % “”””re-grind”””
Lol re-grind... RG.% 5..

All plastics are bags of hydrocarbon snacks.
You heat some bags, shoot some molds, and you get shells.fantastic.. low wage produce.
Ok, there all this....stuff leftover... dried whacky plastic shreds. Plus bad shells, plus whatever is on the floor.

According the GE representatives , whom never lie when they need an order.
Said oh, no,need for, waste disposal cost, you can use up to, and then included in that set,
5% re grind in the new mixture..

Say what? You can adulterate things byn5% , 4.2 % to be precise, and .. Ge doesn’t care.
No the molecules retain specification. A lot of industrial production uses the exact same re grind rule, ,.yes Burger King too. Yes Olive Garden too. Lol

Re grind ..you’ll never be the same.......

Ok sue use the older weed as need in the eariest cob preparations.

Dead weed, dried once. Can never be natural, cob. Fermented
Dry weed rehydrated is cool er tasting weed.
Dry weed shoe box , veg scraps, hour or so, nice cool weed for summer. It almost 90F .
I swear it was cool rain, 50f wind hours ago...lol

Sue we ‘. Oui.. need flow charts...

....you all good cooks.

Scorp,, fine workin it friend,,

:welldone:

I'm kinda lost
Do I let the cob material dry and the husk dry rolling back up in the husk vacuum pack and let them cure for a month
or just get the moisture off of it now roll back up and cure

Generally you let the cob air dry for maybe an hour or 2 until the outside is dry to the touch and then back in the bag it goes still moist in the center to cure for another week or so. You then open it periodically and do the same thing. Dry to touch then back in vacuum bag.

You can do this for months but Tangwena has recommend people stopping after only a couple weeks of wet cure.
