Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

And a thing of beauty it is, eh BigBear? Did you snag a small taster slice, by chance?

Here I am wandering the virtual halls in the middle of the night again, so I thought I’d go ahead and open the Devil’s Carnival cob before I went to bed.

Turned out the air in the apartment is so dry it took barely half an hour for the cob to surface dry. It was only slightly damp coming out, more sticky than damp, to be honest.

While it was drying out I took time to harvest a teeny slice for tomorrow morning and the day after.

She’s down another gram of water weight.

Isn’t it beautiful? :green_heart:

All sealed up for another week. The trimmings are in that little cup with the hygrometer perched on top. I’m checking the RH of those bits, which’re sitting at 50% and slowly going up. I’ll report back on it after sleep.
Is that the rehydrated cob Sue? If so it might turn out nice. You need those green leaves in the broken piece to lighten up towards yellow if you get that your on a winner. Nice contrasting colors on the cob indeed a thing of beauty.
Dont dry it to much and keep it warm and your fingers crossed. What we are trying to do is coax that cob over the edge into a changed environment.
My friend up at the fishing camp says he hasn't slept properly for 2 nights now, but he cant stop hitting that bong ha ha.
Oh yeah he says he cant remember if hes coming or going or where hes going.
Even his dog looked laid back and not his usual syco self ha ha.
Not my type of weed I need to enjoying the ride and definitely like to remember and savor the memory for a long time afterwords.

I didn’t. I was headed to bed, so Northern Lights tincture was the medication tonight. Maybe tomorrow night I’ll try some.

If all is well you need to start drying that my friend.

I can do that!

I swear Tangwena, your posts have me rolling in laughter. What a deliciously wicked thing to share with friends. Hahaha!

Yes, this is the rehydrated bud. I’ll be watching carefully from this point and get it in a warmer environment. The weather went cold again and that warm spot isn’t as toasty as it was in the beginning. I’m thinking the seed mat and an inverted box, like Neiko has going.

Just beginning my chew. :slide:

High and good morning Sue
:hugs:
That cob piece looks almost like a moon rock.
:passitleft:
Are you on the moon yet?

Hehe! Not quite @Stage. Pigeons snagged me almost immediately and I just got back from my virtual trip to Manitoba. Lol!

I think she just put her space suit on. :thumb:

I’m feeling liftoff beginning.

I love a man who pays attention. Lol!

I’m making pain cream oil today - can’t seem to make enough to keep up with demand in my corner if Paradise - and I’m low on grape seed oil. Time to take my stratospheric self for a walk in the sunshine and see what wonders I can discover. :battingeyelashes:

I am buzzed, I give it that. The question is, how buzzed? That’s not gonna be answered inside the apartment. :slide:

I am giving my month old Dr Grinspoon cob a chew this morning. 0.3 gram... I hope to see Sue on the moon. Maybe we can stop for some coffee...or cheese?

See you there. :ciao: I’ll be the short-haired lovely the grin ear-to-ear. Lol!

Kinda gives a feeling in my mouth....it happened last time...I have only chewed twice but both times so far I get a menthol sort of coolness (or hotness?) in my mouth when I inhale. Like after mouthwash just not minty...actually no real flavor at all. I think the technical term is chemesthesis.

That may be the strongest terpene in the mix lazyfish. I could taste the b-caryophyllene in the Devil's Carnival too, though nowhere near as pronounced as the Jamaican, which felt at times like a pepper burn inside my mouth.

It's been enough hours that I'm certain it's not going to get me up to the height I'm seeking on this glorious sunny Saturday, so I'll be supplementing with a Carnival brownie.

It's been an incredibly focused high. I keep turning and starting another quick project, but now I want to get outside and get up to cloud level. I still haven't left the house, so I'll take my brownie with me and hold off a while longer.

I reach for that brownie as much out of habit as anything. You ever consider how high we really like to be, and the plant production it takes to keep up with our high-powered personas?

must admit,, it is quite startling, indeed. i am reluctant to do an actual measurement of my daily consumation of cannabis,, and then double that amount, more or less for me missus as well,,

o_O:oops:o_O

:volcano-smiley:

and i just finished my first tincture,, that will require plenty of experimentation,, i am quite sure,,

:cheer::theband::cheer:

I was just thinking the same thing. Just ripped the bong....

We will get there though.Just wait til your Malawi is a couple/ few months old.

Have you smoked any of the plain dried buds yet? Or did you cob it all?

Hey there Cobsters!!! Everyone looks like they're enjoying the fermented yumminess.... I love watchin this gang here!! Fun fun fun......sue....its just past 3pm....wonder how that cob is kickin with the brownie. Are you on the moon eating cheese with the above mentioned cheese muncher?? Hahaha Happy Saturday folks!!! :rollit::volcano-smiley:

I made up three Honduras cobs from the rehydrated bud. I think I'll put together some Malawi and Thai cobs as well.
As I said I kept them in a bowl outside at around 80% RH for a couple days to rehydrate- and one was mixed with fresh bud. It still didn't feel as moist as I wanted so I added a little moisture to two of them as an experiment and I'll see how that goes.

Re the fermentation. In the quest to find hope that rehydrated bud will ferment well (so I can start cobbing my little bud vault)- I read a couple hopeful things.

First- from post one of this thread-

' [FERMENT] store at warm place- 7 days @ 25-30°C
The goal at this stage is to allow for a steady fermentation, ie allow for yeasts to spread and multiply...'

- And also from this study which I randomly plucked from the internet when I was looking to see what yeasts might be present on corn husks.

This is a study of yeasts on Illinois maize. It was actually the kernels that were tested - dried to 14-17% kernel moisture.
Anyway- in this study they isolated a total of 220 different yeasts on the maize. And that's been my general understanding of yeasts- that they're everywhere and very hard to kill.
So I'm hoping the jarred buds still contain the stuff of fermentation- but we will see.
