Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

I'll bet he insured that there were many small fires.

I wanted to post ,’thank you.’malawi Tangwena’..
So you cure to a directly edible finished item.
I can see how a ‘corn husk; provides...a nice fermentation place....for
Months, hmmmmmm. Some invested in the future, would be prudent...
You can trust Tangwena, he’s from Malawi..check a map///lol lakefront with Mountain View’s.. lol. And apparently weed, cured weed, cool dudes like tangie...
Tangie..I like Durban pois’on, too. And ‘tangie’ ..
Do you notice any difference in the finished item; when a sativa /pure.... or
Aromatic Indica , is the starting material?

Have you used a combination of ; one or mire chemovars?
Proportions at start.’
50/50 for two types?

So can you only eat some st end? Or smoke too, with some air dry .

You have fireproof joints, lol? Too much fertilizer in your buds after harvest, perhaps? Does the cherry kind of "sparkle" before it goes out on you?
Hello ts.

This is every leftover joint since 1842///
The tip. Open it. It brown crap. Not helpful bud juice.
Same material, as the ‘dug to deep’ rso/eco/boho extract residues...

The weed I been smoking, is state sponsored, supervised, taxed, re taxed and regulated too. Tested up the yahoo.
Some is ..curl your toes wow. Some ok... weed ///good to qwet.n.cook/// dirt shut weed..never.../

They seem to know about flushing/harvest date shown/ batch///so complete bs// laboratory result.
Sue, the terpines profile is marked..
the real terpy .citrus smell// n strawberry / .. I am attracted to those..instantly.

No, sparking..fires..I’ve seen that..usually seed lings in the twist..lol

Hi Sue after reading some of your posts about joint pain I have found one strain I have Zamaldelica, that clears all pain from my back and knee it makes me feel 16 again in every way.

I think the bad taste can be eliminated by curing them...

I’m intrigued by this. The wonder of terpene transmutation. Lol! That was obviously b-caryophyllene I was tasting. The peppery snap and burning sensation speaks to an abundance of this valuable anti-inflammatory.

I’ve yet to really grow Zamaldelica, but I have a quantity of seeds with Zamal crosses to choose from. I’ll be starting one in the not-too-distant future. I give away a lot of pain cream. Having an infused oil of Zamaldelica to back it up would be nice.

Having cobs for Sue..... even nicer. :battingeyelashes:

Ah, but the vault is gone, kaput, incinerated, finis. It took awhile, but we managed it. :bongrip: You've decided that old bud can be cobbed?

Aha..... that changes things, doesn’t it?

We are working on deciding to convince ourselves that we've decided that yes

I have one curing now that I rehydrated with a slice of bread. It held nicely at 75% RH and sweated, made it through the fermentation just fine.

I haven’t begun to test it cured, but we’ve been thinking it should work Graytail. I think Weaselcracker mentioned something about wild yeasts?

Weaselcracker?

Thinking outside box here......

Take a small dried bud. Place it on top of say a.... glass measuring cup placed upside down in a pressure cooker. Place about equal weight of water in bottom of cooker. Seal up tight. Place on stove for 5-10 minutes leave to cool naturally and slowly till safe to open. Thoughts are the pressure and steam may push some moisture back into bud. I would do a very small amount to try it. Not sure if it would work. Sounds like it may.

What I understand about terpenes is their importance in the management of the cannabinoids, and their delicate attachment to things. Hence my obsession with methods of drying, curing, and oil production that have potential to retain a greater number of the whispy isomers.

I'm passionate about medicine. I'm equally passionate about my euphoria, but it's medicine I grow for. My daughter's quality of life is greatly enhanced by what I grow and the steps I take to improve her medicine.

I'm certain this method not only retains a record number of terpenes in comparison to other methods I've played with, but somehow transmutes them into wonder we can't explain yet.
Sue,
So not often .. you mention this or that, and I don’t not instantly think you bet ...
Terpenes were like that.
I,figure citrus terps, eat blood oranges..

Ok , the plant based , in this case weed tops , terps, are ‘complex ‘ molecules.
Hehe. The decompose to terpiniods. This is always non-deterministic.
You can’t actuslly know the outcome, precisely..
Food news. We don’t need precise for weed . Let’s not complicate weed..

If you can collect lots of plants terps, and cannabinoids. And deliver that . I say
Go for it... ‘how can more molecules, from the cannabis plant ever make you feel, worse?” ..It can’t and doesn’t””

Sometimes the obvious , escapes me. Sigh...

Sue the Lethichin , is much more ...complex , as in statistically can work, for you, more often,

Terpsz are tricky, if they are present, you smell, them, if you smell, them, thye are disappearing.
Sue the smell, it moves at the speed,of,sound. Lol . If you have dog you can measure this ...lol..
but, the smell when not strong, does not at all mean the not airborne terps..other terps///
They are right there. Next to thc/Cbd//etc.. pretty darn sure..

Go go..’facts are stubborn things.......’

Ts....
I read your posts/
I find that I must respectfully-- No <SIGH>. Actually, as a general statement, I cannot entirely disagree. I've seen too much bud - especially in the past decade or so - that, regardless of what it was stored in, wasn't what I would consider cured.

However, I have also been blessed with the opportunity to sample fine bud now and then. The kind where the chlorophyll and carbohydrates were converted to sugar, the taste was sweet, the smoke smooth, and the buzz an... experience. Indeed, two of the three strongest cannabis experiences I had in my life were from bud that had NO green in their coloration whatsoever, and the other was - at best - merely an olive drab.

Of the former, one was a joint I appropriated from my brother's ashtray seconds before Mom came in to search his room for "contraband." Thereby feeling justified in possessing it, lol, I scampered off down the block to share it with a buddy. It wasn't a week before that when I'd done the same thing, only to see the both of us disappointed when it turned out that my brother had - for whatever reason - rolled a fat joint that was composed entirely of... seeds  . So the first thing I did, before trying to light it, was to nip a tiny bit off of the end of the paper in order to make sure it was actually a smokable joint. It looked closer to some sort of tobacco than cannabis. But a couple of teenagers will often take a chance in the pursuit of a buzz, so I quickly lit it - yes, it was bud - whereupon it returned the favor a hundredfold. To this day, I cannot figure out how... If you are standing against a tall (30'+) stone wall, a large bird flies full-tilt bozo over your head, close enough to touch - and you are not instantly covered in feathers and gore - well, that's easy to explain. You are hallucinating, lol, no worries. But when you're standing there with a friend beside you... and he looks at you and asks, with an awed voice, "Did you see that bird, man?" And then immediately asks, "Wait, where did it GO? How...?" Less easily explained.

The other: When I was 18, a friend of mine was a stripper, and she'd had some trouble with a couple of... clients. She had reason to believe that they intended to break into her apartment while she was at work. Knowing the reputation I had at the time, she invited me to come spend the evening at her apartment, suggesting that there was a strong possibility of some entertainment and exercise while I was there (and - again, knowing my reputation ;) - she mentioned a certainty of... entertainment and exercise when she returned home). So I was hanging out, twiddling my thumbs as I waited her to come twiddle more interesting things, when some grizzled-looking fellow drove up and asked me if she was in. Since he didn't match the description of the two miscreants, I politely said that she wasn't. It turned out that he was passing through and was merely stopping by to say hello. He looked like the stereotypical old hippie, lol, so I asked him if he had anything to burn. He said, "Sure," and pulled something out of a baggie, stuck it in the cellophane off of his cigarette pack, handed it to me, jumped back into his car, and split. At that point, I looked at what he had given me... and was kind of disgusted. It was light brown and scraggly. BROWN, what the f*ck? That stuff got smoked more out of boredom than any real expectation of a buzz. I can only describe its effect as one big cloud of goofiness, LMAO, and - paradoxically - high-speed slow motion. I couldn't figure out why I never once coughed. Then I couldn't figure out much of anything, but this failed to bother me for some reason.

Oh, and the third was just something we used to get once a year around here from an old Seminole Indian woman that grew the finest kind down in a Florida swamp (we called it swamp bud). Two hits of that cost me something like $127, but it was worth it, ROTFLMFAO.

EDIT: I got to rambling and forgot my point. None of those three looked anything like any of the pictures of the "after" or "in progress" pictures I've seen in this thread or the original one over at that other forum. I must assume that they were cured in the... Hmm. I just realized that I was about to type "cured in the traditional way." But, technically, the method described in this thread would have to be the traditional way, wouldn't it? How about "cured in the old-school hippie way," lol?

Ts..I know your pain with a woman, lost to you.
She was not a ‘Stripper’

She may have worked in adult entertainment, we call strip clubs.
Properly enjoyed everybody wins.
Requires 100 % focus and all, 100% responsible adults. Not that common ..

Get back i there and think this through.....

So...got back from Mexico on Monday...yesterday, got around to going through my vacu sealed stash looking at cob candidates... Obviously will be a rehydrated attempt... I chose some Purple Mexican from last season and some Incredible Bulk from two years ago...both went to 80% RH overnight when placed in a gallon jar with a couple small slices of bread(although I did add an apple slice to the Bulk, as it stalled at 77%) ...I also pulled a bag of Malawi Gold Auto from last season as well...this is where it got curious!??... after a regular cure, it smelled like cat piss...very unappealing!!... However...after a couple months in the jar, it changed to a 9 out of 10 on the smellometer...purrfect!...but, upon opening the bag...cat pee again...bummer!??...maybe not!??...the color had darkened and the texture was like hard pressed hash, like the good old days...took a sharp cleaver to cut the 3.5 zips into three pieces!... I've currently got some on a plate air drying and put the rest back in a jar...I can't recall if it was by design, or accident, but, a 62% boveda pack got sealed with this bag...Doh!...this sample went to slightly over 80% on its own overnight in a jar...I did take some pics, but am electronically challenged for the moment...hopefully,sometime next week I will have revived/replaced my puter, and get up some pics...cheerz... h00k...:rollit:

It is a experiment someone could try, like I said Not sure if it will work. If it does.... Wham Bam

I just placed a couple good handfuls of buds from fridge in a jar to check RH. May be cobbin may be waitin, will know soon.

When I tried stuff like this I had trouble with inconvenient drops of water getting into the bud. Usually me being clumsy. It's a setback when bud gets directly wet.

Anyway- this is how I'm rehydrating my Honduras now. It's humid where I live and around 80% RH right now so I'm just putting it on a shelf in the shop
I'll probably just leave them overnight out there given the current humidity.

Sue re the yeast- I don't know much about fermentation or for sure if that's what we are doing with the cobs- or what is involved besides yeasts. Probably other microorganisms, bacteria, enzymes?
I do brew wine and beer though and do know that wild yeasts are everywhere and in everything. Freezing kills them- but Im thinking a curing jar situation sure wouldn't.

I've been smoking this uncured GT bud for the last few days. And I don't know if it's because I left it in flowering ten days later than I normally would've, when I fell ill, or just the pheno of this plant- but it's felt a little too spacey for me - and didn't quite give me that joyous clear high i wanted.

This eve I smoked some of the GT cob- and this really feels like the GT I miss - a real powerful happy feel, clarity and enhanced superpowers. :thumb:
I'll compare a bunch more times in the name of science but the cob smoke already
really seems different -in a good way.

Cob cure and humidity

Snippets.

Mold will, not grow when true Rh, is mostly under 60%. Hence I see no idea at 62.42% rah, exactly. Nice.

How do,we know? Better how do I know? I made smart thermostats.
In Nevada saves a ton of run time.
In Florida... humidity .well it matters. Not to me before that moment intime, mind you.

We installed a wing, smart systems international ss1000 , and a week, later there was black mold in corner of some rooms.

.moving on.. you can never,as in never ever let anything sit, in air above 60% Rh. Especially terpines ladder fresh harvest medicinals...

Of course, the corn husk tightly wrapped and smoked in ..whatever fluid. Is the .exception.’carry on..

But the bud leaf , no mold below 6o

I'm just starting to play with Sativa's... It's my understanding, that it can be a common trait with some sativa strains...I did not cob the Malawi, considering the change it went through... Have four cobs each of purple MX and Incredible bulk sweating in the dehydrator now...24 hours will be be late afternoon Manana...cheerz... h00k...:rollit:
