Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

Black Cherry Punch Cob

Finished up harvesting this girl late Thursday night and she went into cobs this afternoon. (need to check temps again). Going into the cobs, she smelled straight up like cherry pastries. Very curious what the cob will do to her. Cheers er'body!:roorrip:

Ok, so yesterday around 3pm I chewed a 1g piece (I was feeling adventurous) of Panama Cob.
The first thing I noticed was how strong the taste was. Very potent after it soaked up some saliva, made my whole mouth kinda numb. That lasted for a couple hours... was starting to think I should have made a tea or something.
I will say I was a bit disappointed, I didn’t get near as buzzed as I hoped. I did feel great, no doubt, I felt light with a whole body buzz. Relaxed me, but didn’t make me tired. The buzz lasted a few hours and then I wanted to try smoking some of the same cob. So I smoked a nice bowl of that around 5:30-6pm. Very nice, very smooth smoke. Very nice buzz off of this as well. More immediate buzz, straight to the head. Again, similar effects, great up buzz no tiredness.
Over all I really liked it, I’m not holding out hope for trippy Cob. Mostly because I do shrooms here and there and just can’t see that happening with cannabis. But hey, that doesn’t mean I won’t keep making them and searching for that kind of high.
I will admit, I did take some shrooms Saturday, so maybe this is why I wasn’t as affected by the cob. I’ll give it another go on a weekend where I don’t do anything but cannabis.
Anyway, I am looking forward to trying these again once they have aged nicly!

I don't get the trippy effects as much either, but I am a heavy smoker for my back pain and I am sure that effects it. I haven't been eating a lot of cobs lately but I have been smoking them. I think thats where my enjoyment for them are at this point. Perhaps if I can ever get my usage to drop a bit, then eating them might be able to give me what I want.

Shrooms you say huh? Hmmm, miss those shrooms!

I think the effects (per Tang) are different for those of us that are heavy smokers. I think to get what everyone else gets from eating them, we would need to give our tolerances a break for a couple days......not very doable for some us, at least not unless forced to lol.

Weird, I don’t consider myself a heavy user. I always wait until after work and after my workout to smoke. I usually have 3 sessions per night, only 3-4 big hits each time.
Some consider just daily use of any kind as heavy use. I consider heavy, smoking all day, using large amounts for pain, like you. And usually if someone gets those terrible stomach issues, that’s from too heavy use. Nothing a hot shower can’t fix there, but should probably back off if that happens.
Not sure why the cobs don’t knock my socks off... yet

I smoke everyday 3-5 times a day(2-4 bowls total), as well as canna caps in the evening. I choose not to miss any days to keep my tolerances in check due to the pain or otherwise I would skip at least a day or two a week for that reason. Even though I only have only smoked for 2 years now, my tolerances are through the roof compared to my pot buddies who have smoked religously for 20-30 years. They tried the cobs, and they blew their minds. For me....they are great and fun, but don't effect me the way they do others. The only thing that makes sense to me is that I don't ever give my receptors a break.....hence the heavy user label (even though if you measured up my total bud smoked each day its not that much compared to people that smoke continuously through the day) and thats kind of what I thought Tang was referring to in not effecting them quite the same.

If you don't have any issues like I do with skipping a few days, give it a try and then eat a cob and see if it hits ya any differently.

You are finding the great mystery. I have given stuff that I consider amazing to smokers and they say its OK.
Your reaction seems quite normal and not uncommon at all, some get it some dont.
Dont forget this technique was originally for smoking its only when I had to give up smoking years ago that I started chewing it.
Its all a tolerance thing I am sure. I never chew any cobs less than 3 months aged as they are not strong enough for me un aged.
Dont worry worst case scenario you have some lovely mild smoking material which again once aged will get stronger smoked also.

Hey Tang,

question for ya, since you are kinda our Jedi Master. Do you know if the act of cobbing changes the smell profile on cobs so that K9s no longer hit on it? Just curious.....as traveling with cannabis outside my legal state is always a worry. But if perhaps I knew if K9s hit on it, the cobs might make a great alternative to straight flower!

Well I mean I could take a day or two off... but I may not sleep:rofl:
I’ve neber slept well, and cannabis helps a lot with that. Even the Sativas, after I’m coming off them a bit, I can sleep on them way better than nothing at all.

Hey Tang, yes sir... that’s what I was thinking as well. I bet in a couple/few months, they will be even better. I love the high chewed, just want it to hit me harder... which it may with time.
I mean I could just chew more, but there goes my tolerance... up up up

Howdy everybody! I know Tang from anither forum and wanted to check out what you all have been up to over here. Great spirit of learning and innovation. Tang is a patient and tireless prophet of the cob. Pretty wicked sense of humor but a good heart.

I want to focus on legal CBD flowers and see where it goes. I am not aware of this being done on other forums. I can see aroma and flavor improving big time. Where it realky gets fascinating to me is what happens with psychoactivity. Will it increase focus and energy with certain terpenes and strains? Will nighttime sedation and pain reduction increase in others?

Enough of that Jedi shit brother I'm just an old old smoker from Africa thats all.
To answer your question the K9's love the smell even more than I do ha ha. I had a close call at the airport here in Australia coming back from Africa years ago I was in line at the duty free shop when a customs guy with a black lab drug dog cruised into the shop.
I was stuck in the check out cue so I was shitting myself, the dog came straight for me but the handler was looking elsewhere.
I put my hand out for the dog to sniff and the handler thought I had called the dog.
He roughly said dont touch the dog and and hauled it still straining against the leash away ha ha.
The dog was on the ball the handler wasn't.
You know what dogs are like with anything that has a new smell they cant help themselves can they.
Double wrapped in a vacuum bag with perfume in the 2nd bag I have had no worries just wash the outside of the second bag just in case your fingers had some smell I have sailed past drug dogs easily.
