Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

my goodness Sue,, your presence in cannaland is quite astounding. quite..

i have read tangs thread before and was absolutely intrigued.

i think at the time i read it having that much excess bud was only a dream,, however, a few bountiful harvests have put me into a much more creative position

and yerself as well seems like,, cheers to us:goodjob:

i have a nice og kush ready for the axe in two weeks,, now i just need to aquire some corn husks/leaves, which is not an automatic this time of year round here,, but the inquisitive shall prevail,, indeed

i also have no vacuum sealer,, tho the missus says she can seal as well with a baggie and a straw,, might be worth a try first

karma sent to yer cobs and you as well,,

:hugs::hugs:

Definitely no corn to be found up here. Unless some comes into town on the next dogsled tomorrow I'm going to try using pot leaves, or whatever else I might find laying around...
Nivek I don't want to insult your wife but I really doubt she can achieve that much suction. ;) I mean if she can -that's great. The vacuum sealer has enough force to completely crumple an empty beer can.

Here’s the link. Cajun’s room

Thank you, Sue.

Lol. Speaking of which (err... those "sealer" devices, not the member's wife), they probably ought to be called "slightly reduced pressure" devices instead of vacuum sealers. I doubt they actually achieve a vacuum. A real vacuum chamber can easily burst an unopened can of soda. The "homemaker" version, OtOH... Someone told me once that they make attachments for some that are meant to be used with rigid (plastic) containers, and I'm guessing that a true vacuum pump would lower the internal pressure enough that it'd crack such a container.

I could be wrong, of course.

Hahahahahaha

Try construction-grade paper bags, if that’s even possible in the middle of nowhere. Also, parchment paper might be an option. The advantages of the husks include the ridges they create which increases surface area, but anything that won’t rip will work.

WooHoo nivek. :yahoo: I was hoping timing would work out for you. Remember guys, it’s possible to rehydrate. :battingeyelashes:

That’s why he’s out dancing among the stars TS. :battingeyelashes:

Oh <FACEPALM> . I thought you meant that he was now hanging at a different forum. I guess that would require Æthernet instead of Ethernet, huh? (Warlock humor ;) .)

One might find something useful at a hardware store. If not a real one (although smaller towns seem to be the last bastions of such entities these days), at least one of the "hardware-themed department stores" such as Lowes or Home Depot. Wander around in one looking, and if you don't find something that looks like it would work, ask an employee. Tell the person... IDK. That you're creating crafts out of <whatever>(*), and wish to add a textured surface to the things by tightly wrapping them with some kind of non-reactive something or other. I immediately thought of drywall screen - or even window screen - but that might not be appropriate for this purpose, IDK. At the least, I suppose you'd have to add something else as an overwrap if you used screen material. Hmm... Burlap?

(*)Or, if you can't think up a good story, tell them that your Mom is the one doing it, that you're not really sure on the particulars, but she sent you on an errand, lol. That would explain why you <COUGH> cannot say what the specific material that is being worked with is.

I'm just starting the read, but can anyone answer if anyone here has yet completed a "cob" cure start to finish? I'm quite interested.

Here NO. Over on the IC thread there is lots.

I'll be opening my first two tomorrow Governmentchz, but none of us has cured completely yet. Mine are coming out of the fermentation step. It'll be another three months before they're done. Have you checked out Tangwena's? They've been playing since 2013, I believe.

Hahah, nothing like some hard laughs in one's morning!

A proper vaccum device is the best investment, vacuum will not only prevent oxygen en hence mold or rotting, it also compresses the bud even more, and then another essential effect: it forces plant matter to re-soak liquid, promoting homogeinity and density inside of the cob.

Beware some household vacuum machines can achieve fairly high vacuum levels, most are powerful enough to draw out at almost a bar pressure; you usually have some ways of "mellowing" the vaccum on those: some have a "delicate food mode", or a "food with sauce" mode. There are reports on glass jugs imploding (specially if going to the fridge) unless you use these.

No problem using high, full vacuum vacuum inside vacuum bags (that's the goal!)

Wow.... GovChz sneaks into the room... fun stuff.
Tead likes it when the old school folks show up. Ya know it's an interesting thread when......

Hehehe.... we all want this euphoric experience. Stop for a moment and consider that. The forces that control legislation are opposed to us exploring these corners of the consciousness.

Makes me more determined to get there. Lol!
