Tangwena's Malawi-Style Cob Cure: Fermented Cannabis

Admit it.... this room feels like a comfortable smoking lounge, right? :passitleft:

Those cobs look great. That jerky is like the big "Footballs" as someone called my White Widow. The only thing with the bigger ones is it takes longer to dry.

I have done 4 different Durban plants in both cob and dried flower. To me they are D4,D5,D6 and D7. The D6 is something really special so far. The others don't even compare. Really looking forward to growing that one again (Cut clones last weekend off the mom) when the hot summer weather will not cause problems.

Hey all, been away for a while. All is good just haven't had a lot of spare time. was checking out drhooks journal( damn he's living the life) and had to see what all this "cob" nonsense was about. well google sent me to tangwenas's original forum so i worked my way through that up till i saw a familiar name:D I came back here to check on sues forum only to find another 140 pgs  needless to say i think i have read more in the last week than the year beforeo_O. It was very fortuitous as i had just taken down a Ladyburn 1974 purported to be 50/50 sativa/indica. its the first time I've grown this so can give you much info on the effects but from what I've read the sativa influence is pretty strong. It does look like it.
here is what she looked like at 6wk of 12/12

I had all the necessary ingredient to give it whirl so i did
vac packed 2.2 oz loose, put it on the cable box between 32 and 38 degrees for 36 hrs. Cracked it open after seeing a bit of sweat, not much of a change in aroma definitely muted but not much of a difference.
set it out to dry for about an hour sealed it back up put it on the shelf above the cable box 25 to 28 degrees for 5 more days. Opened it this morning and wow what a difference a beautiful sweet, peppery jerky smell. I let it dry for an hour soaked up the lovely brown au jus from the bag and sealed it back up to go on the shelf for another 2 days.

I haven't been documenting the whole procedure but took a few pics this morn.

Hello Everyone,

Here a couple Dark Devil Auto cob pics hot off the press!

Cheers,

Those purples in the DDA are always impressive to look at.

I tried it after the 1 week of fermenting and that was a fun experience @JimSaskFarmer. Go back a few pages and I have my report there if you want to read something about trying it early :thumb:
I may give it a try next weekend:p

Here is my Dreamtime cob at 1 week 2 days cure. You'll notice it's still a little wet, I thought I wouldn't let it completely dry out and let it still ferment for at least the first month (still a bit too green for my liking but that might be because of the early harvested buds). I've been checking on it regularly to make sure it doesn't mold up and also to re-vac it (this should be done every 12hours-3days depending on cob size/density). I'm planning on having another try at either 1 month or 2 months...see what happens :thumb:

Got mine in for the cure this morning. Pulled it out to dry for a bit over 4 hrs. The jerky smell is very strong now. Sealed it back up loose in a sterilized jar. Feels a little rubbery. Will check on it in a few days.

Skunk Kush (indica dom.) i was thinking of the best way to work with what I have so I got a small Tent out (2x2x4) through in a Chinese LED. Turned on seed mat sitting on floor put some old (clean) metal rotisserie skewers Over the mat to separate the bag from the mat. I used a plastic container to put over the mat/skewers and cob and set a towel over to seal in heat. I’m using my usual temp monitor to determine general temperature of the tent (temp monitor is not under container with cob). It was the only way I could think of to make a legit sweat box. I have the top vent sock partially open. (The herbs were double checked for unwanted material prior to cobbing)
