Tales From The Krip!

PIC UPDATE

I harvested the mini Lucy-25 auto a few days ago and put it in the fridge for a slow dry.

Here she is before the chop:

And a rough trim:

She's much frostier than I was able to capture in the pics, but again, please don't ask me to share cuz' there's barely enough there to catch a buzz!

With the recent "change-up" of deciding to flower the "former" bonsai moms, the tent is starting to look good!

I realized that, to avoid the "blurples" in the pics, it was best to just turn out the lights and use the flash:

All of the plants seem to be loving their new home and the HB soil:

The last pic is the Fruit Punch. She's the smallest/sparsest of the four plants and I can already see myself trying to hold back the other three while letting her try to catch up but am pretty sure she's gonna be the "runt of the litter" on this round.

Happy Harvests!

Haha! so forgetful! 10s, good call. I have fabric 10, plastic 15s and 7s on the way. Options!

:passitleft:

If you can fit (9) #7's in a 4'x4', I'd be real tempted to go that way, especially considering I'm using the LED's. I think I can get better yields from more smaller plants, but want to make it some "square" number so (4) #10's seemed pretty reasonable. ;)

Hmm, maybe!? Have you been to @overlord s grow? He just put 9 square #8's in his 4x4!

I have 12 5gal fabrics in a 4x4. It's full. Haha

QUICK LUCY-25 HARVEST UPDATE

I did a slow dry for 10 days in the fridge on the Lucy-25 auto and she's now been in jar curing for about 3 days. As of today, most of the hay smell is gone but it's still smelling quite earthy.

The total yield was only 2.7 g's but that's about all I expected based on her size, so it is what it is.

The buds are VERY sticky although, while they are frosty, I've seen buds much more packed with trichomes. But, even gently handling the buds leaves a film of resin on my fingers. There's some nice purple colors there, too.

I haven't even sampled her, yet, but you guys check out these pics and I'll give her a quick test and come back in a few and let you know what I think...

Happy Harvests!

LUCY-25 EARLY SMOKE REPORT

Even though the buds still smell quite earthy in the jar, once ground up (which took a little effort cuz the insides are still a little moist!) I get that nice pine smell with a hint of lemon. The smoke was a little harsh but I was actually surprised at how smooth it was for only three days in a jar. Nice immediate head-rush on the first bong hit, which is also impressive since I've been smoking some Sour Diesel tonight and started with a decent buzz. The exhale was a pure lemon taste, to me.

Now that I think about it, I packed a 2nd bong hit which I've been putting off and I now realize it's because I'm stoned enough (as if that was really possible! :ganjamon:) but have to give at least some of the credit to the Sour Diesel which gave me a good start!

OK, I'm forcing myself to do a 2nd bong hit purely for the sake of this review (and, to finish the sample I ground up!).

Another nice head-rush & feeling very relaxed. Not really the couch-lock (yet!) I remember with Lucy, but this auto does appear to be a somewhat different strain with the purple colors which, I guess, are common to the auto.

Overall, very nice! I would recommend, especially for people into auto's, I would just put a very strong recommendation on starting them in their final container so they can yeild at least 1/8th of an oz!

It actually really makes me want to grow another Lucy photo again, but I've got a lot of different strains to try and hope to start a couple from that last order which should be arriving in the next day or two.

Happy Harvests!

Don't force yourself tooo much. Well, least ya got acouple bowls off her.. Does look tasty, but you know none will last thru a cure cycle..... GL

OK...I admit my arm didn't have to be twisted too far!
I should be able to make it through a cure, since I have some other meds available, but, by the time I get done taking samples through the cure, there sure won't be much cured buds left!

FLOWER TENT UPDATE

My only complaint with Doc's kit, so far, is that it's pretty boring for the grower!

I'm used to having to top off reservoirs every couple of days and regularly be checking PH, etc. I used to actually feel like a grower from doing all those "grower's tasks". Now, I just squirt some stuff in a bucket, top it with water, feed the plants, and basically do nothing for the next week, or so!

The plants, however, are real happy to have me out of the equation, for the most part!

Here's a shot of the tent:

In the back, is a new tower fan I picked up at one of the shopping club stores for about $30. It has a smaller footprint than the blade fan I had there, throws a "taller" area of wind, is extremely quiet, comes with a remote so you can turn on/off and change speed and MODES from outside the tent, and the modes include things like a "Night Breeze" which will start out on a higher speed and gradually lower the fan speed over a couple/few hours. I'm pretty happy with it, so far. The pic doesn't show it that well since it's black and I have to take the pics with lights-off using the flash to avoid the blurples:

Let's take a look at the four plants, each from two angles:

Tut #1 had the slowest start of all but is the only one that got LST'd instead of topped and she is going off:

Tut #2 had a bunch of toppings while trying to maintain her as a bonsai and is a little shorter. It seems the Tut responded better to the LST than the toppings, but I have no issues with this girl:

The Bad Azz Kush also had a bunch of toppings and is looking good with a BUNCH of colas forming:

And, finally, the Heavyweight Fruit Punch which was looking pretty short and sparse is finally starting to fill out nicely:

They all received their first full Transplant Drench last Thursday and their first Brix on Saturday. I'm guessing another four days before plain H2O2 and then another week, or so, before they get their first Growth/Energy.

Not much to show in veg right now except a small FP & Tut #2 clone and a couple of fresh BAK cuttings rooting. The Northern High Lights never sprouted  and I'm just waiting for the new seed order to get here to start some of those.

Happy Harvests!

What did you end up picking up for seeds? Did you get the chocolate Thai?

Yeah, I grabbed the Chocolate Thai, Tuna Kush F2's, Blueberry, the PTK F2's that are supposed to be the '79 X-mas bud, and the God's Gift x StarDawg IX.

Did you order???

No I have not ordered. I have not asked for the lit yet. I seriously have more beans than I will probably eve rget to. I will have to take a picture of my collection and post it up at some point. I have two tupperware containers just about crammed full of beans right now...

I hear that, Brother! :high-five:

If you're able to resist ordering, it's almost worth requesting the list just to see what's available. There's no info on anything, no pictures or descriptions - just a Word doc with literally 10 pages of crosses, only about a couple dozen, or so, of which are even available commercially from the seed banks.

Here's a small sample of what you'll see:

And, much more!

I'm most interested in these seeds for when I start the breeding program I'm planning to begin in 3-6 months, or so. It's just been in the last month, or two, that I've started purchasing regular seeds. Everything else I have is feminized. These should all be GREAT genetics for breeding! :slide:

Icemud had sent me pics of the list at one point> I really would nt mind having the Grape Stomper and a few of the other crosses he has. The 88Hp/G13 sounds like a killer cross to me as well. I have a mixed bag of seeds, both fems and regs. i never ran regs up until the last year or so. I was hoping for more stability and it has been hit or miss. I have found a couple of really nice males that I would have liked to have bred with but had no place to let them drop pollen that would not have seeded everything I had going.
