Tales From The Krip!

BAK MOM - BEFORE TRIM

The BAK Mom (a/k/a "Batman") has been turning into a monster with 16-20 tops and starting to take up more than her fair share of the veg cabinet so it was time to take her out for a trim. You can see from the pics, she is extremely happy & healthy. I didn't get any pics after the trim, so these were both taken before:

NO-PIC QUICK UPDATE

Well, right now I'm in the "boring phase" of a high brix grow with four freshly rooted clones I'm waiting on to develop enough to warrant regular waterings, plus the four moms just vegging in the cabinet. It doesn't leave me much to do, right now! :hmmmm:

I have been spraying some water with a very weak transplant solution (I topped off a bottle of 1/4 strength Transplant with plain H2O after the initial watering) in a 3" circle around the plants as the top of the soil dries out and estimate it will be at least another 4-5 days, or more, before the containers are dry enough to warrant a real dunk.

I did toss all the extra clones, so it's only the four moms in the veg cab and now I'm starting to think about popping another seed for another mom in preparation for the next round.

I've got a bunch of White Widow seeds, in fact, from three different breeders, and I may pop one of those. I think the oldest are Nirvana, which I would expect to be the best of the lot, so unless something else catches my eye as I'm going through the "stash", that may be the candidate.

I'm also thinking about building another cabinet, pretty much exactly like the veg cab, just to use for some breeding; but I think that's going to wait for a couple/few months while some other projects get finished up.

Other than that, not much to report but will keep the updates coming as things progress.

Happy Harvests!

:hmmmm: Hmmmm....As I was looking through the seed stash to see what to pop next, I came across a few things that sparked my interest and have narrowed it down to five "top contenders"

1) Nirvana White Widow
2) Barney's Farm Vanilla Kush
3) Advanced Seeds Northern Highlights
4) Royal Queen Critical
5) Barneys Farm Lucy (El Ess Dee)

White Widow is just one of those "classics" I've always wanted to try and, being know for it's resin production, I'm thinking might do very well in Doc's kit.

The Vanilla Kush is another I've been putting off for a while since I love me some Kush. Anything to help sleep and high THC for making RSO is perfect in my book, but I do have the Barney's Bad Azz Kush going now, so I'm not sure it's the best timing on that one.

The Advanced Northern Highlights is one of those I've been holding onto for potential breeding. It's supposed to be a "suped up" version of Northern Lights and touted as being much improved and the perfect strain for indoor grows. I do have two of those seeds and, since I've been thinking about building the breeding cabinet, it may not be a bad choice to start one of the seeds and see what the pheno is like.

The RQ Critical is a cross between Afghani & Skunk and is probably more for commercial growers since it grows short & dense with short flowering times. It is pretty potent, has a nice skunky/hash taste, and is supposed to be easy to grow.

I think the Lucy caught my eye because of the Lucy-25 auto that's currently flowering at only about 12" tall and knowing I won't get much off of her. I've grown Lucy before and, while I didn't have the best pheno nor was I the best grower at the time, she was still some great smoke and tests at something like 24% THC. She might also do very well in Doc's kit.

OK...Now that I've had a chance to write that all out, I'm really leaning towards one of the first three.

These decisions are killing me!

All suggestions are welcome!

TUT #1 LOVIN' THE LST!

I was just adjusting the LST on Tut #1 and trimming some of the unwanted growth. She's the one the had the biggest issues getting started but has really responded well to the intense LST I've been giving her:

I really had no intention of posting any pics of her tonight, but, as I was cleaning up the trimmings, I noticed she's now throwing 9-fingered leaves and thought it was worth the pics :) :

What Happens When You Can't Decide?

I couldn't decide which seeds to pop, so narrowed it down to the Nirvana White Widow and Barney's Farm Vanilla Kush and just put both in some water to soak.

I chose the other Kush strain simply because I've been making RSO caps for my Dad who has Parkinson's and the Kush strains seem to be best. Maybe it will be better than the Barney's Bad Azz Kush since it's very different mixes?

The White Widow is something more for me, and again, I think it will really excel in Doc's kit; but we'll also see if it helps my dad with pain or, possibly, is even better than either of the Kush's for his Parkinson's tremors.

:Namaste:

PIC UPDATE

Things are moving, but really not much different to show. Here's the rundown...

The Veg Cab is definitely filling up. On the front-left and front-right are the White Widow and Vanilla Kush seeds I just put in soil this weekend:

I cut the BAK Mom way back since she was taking up so much room, but she still has plenty of tops when I decide to take some more clones:

Fruit Punch Mom is furthest behind, at this point, and starting to fill out:

Tut #1 is the one that got the heavy LST and has responded by throwing out 9-fingered leaves. Tut #2, is/was the more vigorous grower was the one I assumed I would end up keeping, but even Tut #2 isn't throwing out 9-fingered leaves, so they appear to be different phenos and I'm going to have to run at least one Tut #1 next round to be able to compare and determine which of the two Tut moms I may want to keep:

Here's Tut #2, still looking great:

And, here's what's in the flower tent, currently vegging:

And the top of the Lucy-25 auto that is actually flowering:

TUT #1 FLAUNTING HER FEMALE STUFF!

I was just checking in on the girls and noticed Tut #1, the mom still in veg that got the "extreme" LST, is now showing pre-flowers, in addition to those 9-fingered leaves she started putting out.

Tut #2 doesn't have either! I was assuming it was because of different pheno's, but it occurred to me that the difference may simply be the fact the Tut #2 got multiple toppings and is about a week, or two, behind Tut #1.

That being said, now I'm thinking of taking a clone from Tut #1 to be a replacement Mom and replacing the BAK clone in the flower tent with Tut #1. That will let me flower out all four phenos in the first round and ID the keepers. Even though Tut #1 is way ahead of the clones vegging in the flower tent, I can always keep her small in that 4" container until the other clones catch up and up-pot her then.

While I figure out, yet again, what I want to do, here are the pic's:

IT'S A NICE DAY TO START AGAIN...IT'S A NICE DAY FOR A WHITE WIDOW!
:theband:

The one I'm really hoping I get is the Vanilla Kush, since that was my only VK seed and I have a dozen, or more, WW's, but I'll take success whenever/wherever I can get it! :yahoo:

New White Widow Seedling still playing "Ostrich":

WHITE WIDOW HAS CLEAN ENTRY!

Just a few hours after the last set of pics, the White Widow made a clean entry into this world. She's a little young to be a Widow, but....

Happy Harvests!

:hmmmm: Hmmm....doesn't look like that Vanilla Kush is going to sprout! :( @#$&*#@!

It makes sense, since it was my only Vanilla Kush seed and I've got plenty of White Widow seeds, that the WW would be the only one to pop!

I'm gonna give it two more days and, if nothing by then, we're moving onto something else.

In the mean time, I've had the WW seedling in the Flower tent rooting under the LED's and she seems to be happy there.

LITTLE LUCY-25 ALMOST READY!

The Lucy-25 auto is only about a week from being ready to chop. She's only about 10" tall with three sets of buds and, if I'm lucky, I'll get about a gram dry. That being said, I did want a quick harvest, so I guess I'm going to get one!

She's actually much more frosty than in the pics and smells like lemon/pine :yummy:

Happy Harvests!

Yikes you'll burn that in one bowl. That's what I hate about autos,,, they are all over the place in size.. But that is a small one.............
