Tales From The Krip!

I'm sure it'll be fine Krip but like you said, let nature take its course and you'll know soon enough. Our girls will have to go on play dates, ha!

I got a better idea...We both wait until they're all dried & cured and then you & I go on the "play date"!

hey k. starting seeds is the most stressful time for me. I think that BAK will make it k'den

Yeah, it's always stressful for me, especially since it's not easy for me to acquire good genetics. Once I have a decent plant, I usually will take clones, make a mom, and grow it out multiple times if it's any decent.

The BAK has a pretty good chance on making it but, it does look a lot better in the pics, which are zoomed in pretty close, than she looks by "eye" in person.

She can't be more than a couple mm's tall, which gives an idea how thin her stem is right now.

In fact, after staring at those pics for a few minutes, I figured I try some minor surgery just to see if I could remove some of the membrane. When I went back to the cab and saw how "frail" she was, I decided not to risk it and just wait.

In the meantime, I'm misting the tops of both plants just to try to keep the membrane (and shell, in the case of the CB!) moist so they're more easily shed by the plants.

:Namaste:

Sounds like a plan Krip! I'd really like to meet up with some of you fine forumers one day. I'll have to bring the boss to partake because my max is about 1/2 but, ha! Id like to make the ocean going canoe trip one of these years.

Yup......planning will take place in Aug. Hope to have another top notch group in the canoe this yr......with Buck steering...lol!
Look at that resort that was right next to where we stayed, the one that had the parrot. It began with a K....kuyman??? They were cheaper and had beautiful rooms and the best coffee I had in Jamaica.

QUICK UPDATE - GERMINATION FAILURE!

So, of the five seedlings that were planted, only that one BAK and one CB sprouted above ground. The BAK started rotting, but didn't expect much from that one, and there's literally been NO change in the CB. She still has the seed husk on, but stem doesn't appear to be rotting yet. Soil isn't too moist, so not sure why such a low germination rate.

I did some minor excavation with an unfolded paper clip just to try to get a peak at what was going on with the others. Although all seeds had cracked from when I soaked them, I could see no progress with any in the last week and I couldn't even find the seed for the Mazar x White Rhino. The rotted BAK did have a nice taproot, though.

So, earlier this morning, I planted another BAK, another MAZ x WR, a Dutch Kush, and a Heavyweight Fruit Punch. If I have the same issues with these, I'm going to root the next round in Rapid Rooters. I hate not getting germ's from seeds that cost something like $10/each!

Happy Harvests!

hey mr k. sorry budro. you might have to break out the special "seed sprout" dance. i'm with you on losing money on seeds that don't take, most to the time for me, it's the most expensive seed in the group. i'm ready to see your cabinet "fired up." good luck with this next group. c'yalaterbye

Sorry to hear it K. :hugs: All you can do is try again. We’re pulling for you.

:thanks:

As of this morning, looks like the Dutch Kush and the Mazar/White Rhino cross are both starting to push above soil. The MxWR is slightly ahead of the DK and I'm guessing, by the end of the day, I'll be able to post pic's of both above ground.

There's still no change in the CB with her shell on. I've helped many seedlings out of their shells, but that's always when they're having trouble getting out them on their own. This CB doesn't even look like it wants out but stem still looks strong.

:Namaste:

Lol! What’s she fearful of K? Poor baby, let it go. Grow big and strong without the shell.

QUICK UPDATE - WE HAVE LIFTOFF!

Well, it looks like I had a "false alarm" on the Dutch Kush germination. Yesterday morning, it looked like there was a bump in the soil where she was trying to push though, but haven't seen any progress there, yet.

The Mazar x White Rhino has almost made it completely out of the soil but still has her head slightly buried:

Here's that CB with her seed husk still firmly in place and not even a peak of a cotyledon showing:

The big surprise of the morning was, out of seemingly nowhere (well, the soil and seed I planted), the Bad Azz Kush decided to make a full appearance before everyone! :yahoo::

Still waiting on the rest, but at least have something to work with this time. ;)

Happy Harvests!
