Tales From The Krip!

I've been following your Tut grow and the plant looks awesome! :welldone:
Have you harvested any yet? How would you rate the quality?

Thanks man!

Nothing yet. They have been flower for anout a weak.

I will say that my germination was was 3 strong seeds, and 2 not so much. Everything went to seedling pretty quick. The seeds that grew well grew really well ended up with stalks as much as 1.5 inches in dia. at the base. They have been fun.

Some new Tut pics. Heading into flower. Lots of good sized tops

OK...You inspired me! I just started soaking another Tut seed. If I can get it to pop and it looks like a "keeper", I'll make it into the Mom and put the current Tut seedling into the first round of flowering. ;)

I like the way you think!

Ive been puffing on tut but its only been cured for a week now. I tested it right after drying and have been smoking it everyday, its definitely a heavy hitter. A few puffs and i get a real nice sativa effect but its easy to over due. When that happens i really have to fight to keep my eye open. This is the only strain I've smoked where i tell my wife I'm way too high. A joint shared seems to be ok but as of now a 1/4 of the blunt is left from a shared blunt. For me that's unheard of. The high is mostly in my head and neck, not much of a body high. Very potent... This is definitely a keeper for me, have a mom and made some seeds. Grown in Docs kit.

Thats the best smoke report ive seen on this stuff yet. Nice job

Thanks, forgot to mention we went to the beach a few days ago. Found a private spot to lite up a tut joint rolled with tut rosin. I was high for hours. On the way home my wife commented on how we have never spent so long at the beach. Love this strain, the high and the duration.

Ok you can stop now HaHaHa... youre making me jones. I so cant wait! I counted 110 tops on my scrog right now. I want to pet each one

Its a bushy strain that's for sure, should do great in your scrog. It's a quick one, you'll have buds before you know it. Fast flowers from king tut.
Dude... you are absolutly right about "bushy" some of the leaves had to be unfolded, and the stalks look like something from outdoors compared to their height. I used silica which i now think was a mistake, damn things have an attitude now. Yeah i hear 60 days and then yank em. How long did yours take?

60 days is about right. There is a 10 day window and doc advised i wait for a bigger yield. Probably why its so stoney. Still great

Killin me... its an itch i cant scratch

QUICK UPDATE

Sorry for lack of pics, but will get some up ASAP.

The top from the BAK went from "droopy" to "perky" so it tells me that the clone is rooting, even though I have not yet seen any roots out of the grow cube. And, since I did an "Uncle Ben's Topping", the one cut has resulted in four clear primary colas developing.

TUT #2 just sprouted this morning, so, while the overall germination rate on this round has only been about 60%, I'm batting 100% on the TUT seeds and looks like I'll have one for the first round.

Since the other Moms-to-be still look like they'll be a while for any clones, I just popped & planted three Orange Crush seeds. I have a bunch of the OC seeds so less concerned about putting one or two into flower without having a Mom established.

The L_D-25 auto is also moving pretty slow and, frankly, is kind of an ugly looking seedling. Hopefully she grows out of this stage!

So, the way the first round is shaping up, it will be the BAK clone, L_D-25, auto, one of the Tut's, and an OC. That being said, if both Tut's are looking really good, it will be very tempting for me to keep both pheno's as moms until I grow them out, test them, and decide which one I want to keep.

Pics coming soon!

:Namaste:

PIC UPDATE FOR YESTERDAY'S QUICK UPDATE!

OK...Here are the pic's to go with yesterday's update. I have been having slight issues with some of the plants and gave them a foliar with some Epsom salts which is the white residue on some of the leaves. It is not PM!

Here's the BAK with the four tops:

Next is Fruit Punch:

The Tut #1:

Baby Tut - The Newest Arrival

And, the somewhat ugly & lanky Lucy-25 auto (she looks better in the pics than in person! :D ):

I didn't take any shots of the BAK top rooting. I figure I'll wait until I have some roots to show for that one. And, didn't take any pics of the three pots where we're waiting for the three Orange Crush's to sprout, since I'm pretty sure you've all seen dirt before!

More on next update!

Happy Harvests!

QUICK UPDATE:

Two of the three Orange Crush seeds are now seedlings. The third is above ground, but hasn't opened up and isn't looking too healthy. As long as I have two, though, we'll be all set on the OC's, so no worries there.

The BAK clone is looking good, but still no roots showing outside of the cube.

And, in the spirit of the old Queen song, "Tie Your Mother Down", I started LST on the BAK mom to spread out her four tops a little.

Happy Harvests!

Some Observations

The veg cab is now looking pretty good with seven plants and one rooting clone, so I can finally see where my next round is coming from and some mothers to start with.

The Fruit Punch and Tut #1 both started with what appeared to be Calcium (and slight Magnesium) deficiencies early. This surprised me a little and posted some questions regarding keeping Bonsai's in the high brix soil. Because high brix involved building large colonies of microbes, it's really not suited for small containers.

Here are the pic's I posted in the HB journal about a week ago to show what was going on:

But, after a foliar with some epsom salts and starting them on some "traditional" nutrients, they've recovered nicely.

That being said, the BAK, that also was showing the same cal/mag deficiency (it's one of the pic's above), is definitely the most vigorous of the group and appears at least 2-3 weeks ahead of any of the other plants. Assuming her babies can produce some quality smoke, and she finishes as quickly as she starts, she'll be a keeper as a mom!

Tut #2 is also looking very healthy & vigorous, but a little hesitant to pick her as the winning Tut mom this early in the game. I'm going to keep both, clone them, and see how the pheno's turn out before deciding on keeping one, or both, as mothers.

I don't plan on keeping any of the Orange Crush seedlings as moms since I have plenty of those seeds and THC levels on OC are only at 15% or so. It produces quality smoke, but really looking for 20%+ THC for medical use.

The L_D-25 is also looking nice and healthy, although, developing a little slower than I anticipated for an auto. It looks like she's just really starting to veg now. Trying to decide if I want to try topping her when it's time, or just let her go. Since it's my first auto, I think I'll just let her go. :)

I'll try to get another pic update in later today or tomorrow.

Happy Harvests!
