Tales From The Krip!

I broke down the other night while "jonesing" from not having a grow and ordered DocBud's High Brix Kit. I've been doing hydro since my first grow and am not even sure why I'm going to be bringing dirt inside my house :hmmmm:.

It's not like it's not already dirty enough, and I thought the objective was getting the dirt OUT of the house, but I am looking forward to the HB meds. :)

the kit arrived at my door this morning before my PayPal login even timed out - Lightening quick shipment! :thedoubletake:

It's likely going to be more than 30-60 days before I can start growing again, so I'm going to wait a few weeks before mixing the soil. I'm ready to move to get a grow back up, though!

Good News For The Day:

Mike Robinson ~ Cannabis is my Medic
Dir. of Litigation, Special Education Proceedings {Cannabis is my medicine for Epilepsy and Cancer}

In a shocking turn of events late friday afternoon a U.S. Federal Court filing was made. Two different hemp related business entities led the way to pave change as both companies and an industry association filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in the 9th District of California federal court. They're seeking to overturn the December DEA attempt to modify or code Cannabis extracts and in doing so challenging thre legallity of Cannabidiol (CBD) which has taken the globe by surprise in being an extract from Cannabis that has helped multiple people, including many children, to overcome at time life or death illnesses. In what seems like a craze people are staying up late nights reading about stories of little kids and even the elderly that are benefiting from the use of Cannabidiol (CBD) Products. Many have found relief from life threatening seizures, some types of cancer, anxiety, sleep disorders, and so much more.

There's been uproar on social media across the globe over the recent DEA decision to create a separate tracking number for “marihuana extracts” under the Controlled Substances Act, effectively codifying all cannabinoids derived from marijuana or hemp as Schedule I controlled substances. This would mean the once legal CBD would become illegal effective very soon under an action or rule, not a law. The lawsuit was filed by the Hoban Law Group in the federal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco on the same day the new ruling was set to take effect, and seeks judicial review of the decision, claiming that the DEA has overstepped their authority in adding this definition of “marihuana extract” to the controlled substance schedule without following proper procedures to do so as outlined in the CSA. Serving as plaintiffs in the lawsuit are the Hemp Industries Association, Centura Natural Foods, and RMH Holdings.

“This is an action beyond the DEA’s authority. This final rule serves to threaten hundreds, if not thousands, of growing businesses, with massive economic and industry expansion opportunities, all of which conduct lawful business compliant with existing policy as it is understood and in reliance upon the federal government,” said Hoban Law Group Managing Partner Robert Hoban in a press release.

The filing of the DEA rule in December 2016 stated that a new code number is needed because the U.N. Conventions Treaty on international drug control treats cannabis plant extracts differently than marijuana or tetrahydrocannabinols (THC). The rule was to take place Jan. 13, 2017 but was met with this action which most definitely could delay the rule from having any effect whatsoever on anybody at all. What seemed to be the biggest panic in Cannabis in 2016 now seems to be an over reported and misrepresented action by the DEA that must withstand serious review. A Governmental agency may make rules and does have the authority to change such rules. Certain protocols must be met in order to do so and in this case the plaintaiffs stand firm in their request for judicial review, which is often granted as status quo (automatic, normally done). The speculation and confusion swelled among cannabis businesses and advocates about just what actions the government was taking on cannabinoids, cannabidiol (CBD) and hemp over the last month with social media posts and journalist headlines that seemed to scare more than inform. Some posts included erroneous reports that a scheduling action took place. The very jist of this lawsuit is that no scheduling hearing was held which is mandatory in order to schedule any drug.

The DEA has stated that the rule presented in the recent federal register amounted to little more than a clerical decision carried out in order to make tracking cannabinoid extracts easier. But this didn't sit well with many in the hemp CBD industry. they saw it as the first step toward a federal crackdown on the non-psychoactive cannabinoid that has thus far operated nationally in somewhat of a legal gray area.

"The bottom line of it is that we've done the best we could do the help the most possible. I'm glad there's people out there to fight back for us." Said the well known Cannabis Robinhood Juston Purcell, well known for his abilities in the world of Full Spectrum Cannabidiol with his Bottle of Love products and Compassion program. Even movie stars have weighed in on this "They’re talking about kids who have grand mal seizures, and they’ve discovered that marijuana eases that down to where these children can have a life. That right there, to me, says, ‘Legalize it across the board!" has stated Morgan Freeman.

As for myself - I believe that all of this is yet another stall by our government to delay the ability for people to use the full plant. Most that have done their homework on all of this know that whether there's a 9th district lawsuit or not and whether there's a rule or not, the whole plant and all it's elements is the very best way to go. "It's not just CBD or THC for me" says Mark Comstock of Los Angeles, "I need it all. I smoke and vape bud and also use oil made from plants I grow. Most of them for oil are CBD and I thought that was the way to go since it was more recognized." Many people that believed Cannabiol based products were less 'taboo' have suddenly found that they're just as much on the firing line of the federal government as the plant in some ways. They interfere with the ability of the pharmaceutical and medical industries to function with profits as they once did. This has caused pressure upon agencies. That's led to actions like we've seen in the last month which now leads to millions upon millions wasted in court for absolutely no reason as no scheduling hearing was done. The 'rule' is not a law. As a patient it is meaningless to me other than the fact it's scared so many people I know. As the volunteer director of a compassion program, it's been a devestating nightmare caused by overzealous unwarranted actions that seem to be an obvious delay in ending prohibition.

Worth noting that the media inflamed the subject and caused unnecessary tension, but thank goodness someone saw fit to file with reason.

Thanks K. It's nice to see good news on this front. Milk it for all its worth.

Good to see you alive and kicking..... Keepem Green

Yeah, Bro! I'm doing awesome - just been very busy with work and some projects. But, coincidentally, I just finished posting on your thread after getting caught up with what's going on and starting to worry about you. You keep yourself not just alive and kicking, but healthy! OK???

Sorry for another long break from updating this journal. I'm going to try to do a full update later tonight, but the short version is that no one has missed anything since still no grow going! :thedoubletake:

OK...I'm already late on the update, but not forgetting!
Here's something to hold you over:

:laughtwo: I just watched it this morning. Should have known you'd post it. Thanks! :high-five:

OK...so, it's been a while and wanted to update my 420 family & friends on what's been going on, which is absolutely nothing in terms of a grow.

I had to hire a lawyer in January to sue my insurance company after I got tired of them "playing games" by causing delays and denying damages that were obvious. I've basically been living in a construction zone, now, for about nine months! :thedoubletake:

I finally got a reasonable offer to settle last week and accepted it, but am still waiting for the release and the check so I can get the house finished.

Depending on how soon the rest gets done and where the housing market is, I may try to sell this place and move, in which case, I will hold off on putting a grow up since I'm not going to rely on my stealth abilities with potential home buyers doing walk-through's!

It will be a good time to sell with everything all redone, assuming the market is still high, and I've been wanting to move to a place with a lot more land and a better growing situation.

That being said, I've been having real growing withdrawals! I've got a bunch of great seeds, Doc Bud's Kit (which I haven't even unboxed from the USPS packaging!), new grow light, and new tent all picked out (not purchased yet). Talk about being all dressed up with no place to grow! :laughtwo:

My dad has been doing great with the RSO capsules and decided to tell his doctor he was taking them because he feared it would show up in one of the many regular blood tests he has to take, although, I doubt they even test for cannabis. His doctor's response was, "Good! I'm glad you found something that helps!"

Finally, at the risk of sounding like I'm "preaching", there's something else I wanted to say...

A few weeks back, there was a 10-day period where I lost about six people close to me, or close to people who were close to me. One of those people was OMM. I've often said that what makes :420: such as great place is not all the great growers, but all the great growers who ALSO are great people. OMM was the perfect example of that! He was such a great person, the fact that he grew some fantastic "old school" meds, was secondary.

But, OMM was a pretty lucky guy. He lead a full and quite interesting life (for those the remember his "memoirs"!) and was married to a woman he truly loved.

In contrast, another one of the losses a few weeks ago was a good friend/neighbor whose perfectly healthy 15-month old grandson went to daycare in the morning and never came home!

Yet another was a good and former neighbor right around my age who had an infection that wasn't treated properly, wound up with sepsis, and died from organ failure within a few days of being admitted to a hospital.

Needless to say, it's been a tough few weeks.

We all know life is a fragile and delicate thing. We see it as growers every day with our plants which we pamper endlessly and fondly refer to as our "babies".

While this is certainly a worthy endeavor, and one I HIGHLY approve of and participate in, it's important to put it in perspective.

It's painful to lose a plant, but that can always be replaced with another seed, or another cutting, or even another strain.

The people in our lives cannot be replaced.

Don't wait to reconnect with your old friend or family member you've lost touch with. Don't wait to tell someone you love them or how important they are to you. And, don't wait to pursue your own dreams & happiness. You may not get another chance!

:peace: &

I have this understanding of our eternal nature that takes the sting out of death. In reality death is nothing more than a walk through a door back to who you always were while you lived here. To be honest, I didn't fully grasp what I'd known intellectually my entire life until Dale passed, but accepting it was profound. When you don't fear death you can better tend to the loss of intimacy those left behind suffer through.

Children passing before parents is particularly poignant, but children are eternal beings too, just ones that left us earlier than we anticipated. There are no guarantees to life, and wise parents understand from the beginning that this miracle in their hands is a gift from God, to be cherished every day we can.

My heart goes out to them. This may be the greatest pain one can endure.

Your future is filled with chaos and promise, tossed together like a casual afternoon salad. :laughtwo: My warmest smile was saved for happy news of your father's relief. This is why we grow, eh? Well.... there's that addiction we have to the whirl of the fans and the glow of the lights when we open the door. I feel for you. I've been there, though not for this extended a period of time. Seven weeks nearly broke me. Hugs?

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

It'll all settle down just fine, and if all goes well, you'll have that property you've been dreaming of. The right home, the right equipment and the best growing system you could hope to find.....you sir, are going to kick some serious cannabis ass. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

.......it's too quiet around here without your voice. Looking forward to greener days in your abode. :kisstwo:
