Senescence is a thing these days.

Here's some DDA I just pulled down the other day.

My fancy drying technique is chopping the plant at the soil like with loppers and hanging it upside down until dry. Trim and into jars with 62% Boveda packs for cure.

Nice looking bud. I wish mine would have had all of those bright orange hairs. Mine had too many seeds for that though. Lol.

SSDC is ripening a bit more every day. Very stinky and sticky, although I am mostly convinced that I won't be growing more anytime soon.

DDA# 2 is doing great. Still a long ways to go, but she has some beautiful royal purple colors. Happy she won't get pollinated.

Columbian Red Point x Unknown is being a bit of a hard a$$. I have (possibly) slowed her stretch down. Maybe it was time for her to slow down. She grew a tiny bit more overnight, but it is hard to tell if it was stretch or the proliferation of flowers. Either way, she is looking to be a handful.

Sensi NL x GG#4 is looking a bit happier now that she is standing at attention.

Sensi NL x Nirvana NL IBL is a tough looking gal. Very stout.

I have a little more space left and with SSDC on her way out (2-3 weeks) I should have a little more soon. Not sure what to run. I still have a bunch of reg purps hybrids I haven't run, then the new (Columbian Red Point x Unknown) x DDA seeds, and I still have some fem seeds I haven't tried out either. Hmmmm.. I am taken aback by the variety available in my seed stash
 
Didn't you say you had some Sensi Seeds Northern Lights X Dark Devil auto? This is what mine looks like today. No topping, just a natural grow to see what it does. I'm definitely loving it so far.

Do you ever blow a muffin fan across your seedlings to strengthen their stalks? I have this box thing I built for seedlings and clones. I have the little fan blowing in there all the time and I aim it so that the seedlings are dancing a little bit but not over the top strong breeze.
 
I have in the past. Haven't recently. Basically I eventually pile coco and rocks up to support them. I know the fans help a lot, I simply haven't replaced the one that died 2 years ago. Even as stretched as my seedlings get, I rarely lose one.
 
So, I am fooling around with ideas again...

This next weekend I will be soaking more seeds. One will be Sensi NL x DDA, she will go into one of my "standard" hempys.

I have also made up 4 of my 9cm pots; two will be my (Columbian Red Point x Unknown) x DDA and two will be either Trailer Trash Betty or Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps. These tiny pots are great for micro breeding and hopefully test runs of new genetics.

Trailer Trash Betty was described to me as an old outlaw strain consisting mainly of fast flowering AK-47 genetics that have been tweaked over the years to become what they are now. The seed provider says that these are great for picking males to pass on the fast flowering trait. Females create good weed, but nothing gourmet as far as flavor and terps.

The Purple Afghani x BCBD Purps comes from that same provider. These particular seeds at the time of my acquisition several months ago were still untested.

I know it doesn't look like I have enough room for the mess I am about to make, but I will get things squared away.

This will make 10 plants in 10sq/ft. Looks like I may have to crank up some cfls after all. Makes me wonder how much longer the two yay-hooz will have my Mars light, hard to tell with how bad they stunted my BlackBerry kush and Permafrost hempys..

I've ran a bunch ( 20 +) AUTOs on a 3X5 table with a Mars lamp and a Timber lamp about 500watts worth total. Did GREAT.

Those autos mainly grow tallish and don't spread out.

Your AUTOs are doing great... time to get popping, they are getting close!


Your Sativa aint that bad, up pot her to a 5 or 7 GAL pot and watch out. They will stretch to 60 days or more (in flower). They can get VERY large.

I ran this one in a smaller pot (2.6qt) of coco to help control her. I had one particular Columbian Red Point x Purple Zebra in a 40oz Hempy stretch until about 2 weeks before harvest. She wouldn't fit in my 5ft tent without a late flower supercrop...

Now that my lights are up to date I am worried about running them in Hempy larger than 20oz. I sure would love to plant some in the ground though and see what they can really do with some sunshine.
 
As I sat down to inspect my SSDC, tiny as she is, I wonder if I will end up chopping just the top and letting the lower portion go for two more weeks... that seems to be the difference in bud maturity at this point.

Top bud is swelling, showing mostly cloudy trichomes, and hairs are turning orange.

Still looking at a week or more before anything happens. Really just thinking out loud. I get awfully bored between harvests. That could be the reason my tent is always overpopulated...

Also thinking about DIY led panels now that Timber isn't selling boards.. see, awfully bored.

I have looked at those and they sure are well priced and I bet they work great, but...

I've been eyeing HLG for their qb324 160watt kit. It is mix between 2700k and I think 3000k, alternating rows of each. I shouldn't need to run more wattage than that. My tent is only 48" x 32" .

I really want something good to put over the older plants. Not that there is anything wrong with 4000k. I just feel like more red would be beneficial on that side of the tent.

Unfortunately my wallet is a bit light for any of the options out there... if I wouldn't have had to replace my fan/filter it would be a different story. That is why I am checking out cheap stuff from china mostly
 
I might have missed it. Did you say how many seeds that Dark Devil had on her? I bet close to 1,000 or more.

I never said, but my best guess is 700 (I threw out that huge chunk of main cola bud rot) Probably 300 being viable. They are drying, but I will be soaking a couple tomorrow to see how they germinate. Run a couple micro plants to get a feel for them.
 
I currently have a Northern Lights X DDA growing. Haven't done a thing to it other then water and feed it. I see lots of Northern Lights in the plant. Hope to see some purple in the buds when I get that far. I goes into the flowering tent this coming week.
 
I just got done sorting the rest of my seeds. Maybe I will break out the scale and try to figure out how many I have...

Smoking on some heavy indicas tonight. Zoning and losing focus. Takes forever to type
