Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

I would think music that has not been synthetically changed or created would be best for cannabis or plants in general. For example, I think classical music would benefit the plants much more than say pop or rock music.

Science actually shows that plants could care less what music you do or do not play. People will never accept that though. :laughtwo:

I'm sprouting corn as we speak. I do quart size at a time, and that gets me two mmj feedings or one and the rest in the garden. I also do random waterings with the daily sprout soak/shake.

In all the talk of aging, being old, and what it gives a person ... there's seldom a good solid discussion of the awesome power it brings.

Literally jaw-dropping awesome. We know how to get past stuff. :cheesygrinsmiley:

It doesn't get any less emotional, but we know how to circumnavigate our way through it.

... so there's that ... :Namaste:

Yes there is.

What about coconut milk in the supermarket? It's often in the Hispanic foods area.

Coconut water is what you're after. The young coconut water is what's full of all the goodness we're seeking, derived from the liquid of young, green coconut seeds. Coconut water is sterile as long as the seed is unbroken and no processing is required. It can be used straight or diluted.

Coconut milk is made from the pulp and is heavily processed and boiled from the tough meat of the older, brown coconut seed. Cytokinins may be denatured in the rendering process.

I am very OCD, anal retentive, mathematical and I love symmetry. I have checked the abacus, slide-rule and calculator and yes, that plant looks perfect!

lol

Keep it up Sue! :thumb:

:laughtwo: I sure am glad you found your way to this thread. I like the way you make me laugh. :green_heart:

I hope your musical weekend went well?

That right there ^^ is how CC got my lights to turn on! DING YOU BET - Just like a garden. We've been doing no-til outdoors in our raised beds for many many years. I cant for the life of me figure out how I was going to use a store bought bottle of chems/salts to "feed" my ladies. That's crazy!

Here ya go SS - just for you, hope it brightens your day and finds your elbows in soil and green in your garden. Our outdoor flowers are showing some stuff so we brought some inside before hard freeze we had the other night ... glad that didn't last long.

Another one of those cash crops that folks go crazy over!!

Here's a top view of my Sweet Dark Devil - there's red in the center of the flower if you look close. This plant is going to be nuts. I've tried to get 3 more seeds going to no avail... getting pricey!

Hey there SS - I think I'm a few days ahead of yours and we know what a few days is with quality autos. It feels like 3 weeks with regulars. I'm all about results.

WP_20150427_003.jpg

Here she is out on the roof getting a little REAL sun - the roof is even painted silver to reflect the light!

Looking like a little stretch here ... freaks me out I'm on a 20/4 light schedule and she's flowering!! My first auto thanks to you SS for showing me what can happen!! I've got alfalfa in there as a companion/cover crop. Seems to be working. i hope you don't mind me sharing pics ... I actually deleted one for stealth reasons!!

WP_20150427_001.jpg

Share away BB. You may be a few days ahead, but that overload of light you're growing yours under is making a world of difference. I bet she really liked the roof. Nothing like being able to get them out in the sunlight, eh?

She's looking great BB. Thanks for showing her off here. Gets me excited about my own.

Learned something new. When making a malted barley grain steeped tea (easier than bubbling) there's no reason to strain the grain out. Simply drench it right onto the soil. You gotta love how this keeps getting easier and easier. :laughtwo::green_heart:

Thanks for fixing that. I totally meant coconut water.

I started the process of developing a user's guide for this thread. I feel a responsibility to keep the information we share from being lost in the sheer volume of pages we're burning through. I began with today and began working backward, making notes of things I thought were relevant enough to cross reference, and some things that I just wanted to remember for the laughs. :laughtwo:

I'm 10 pages back and my notes are considerable. This is going to be a serious undertaking, but I'll have it done by the end of the grow. We talk about some pretty significant things here. I was impressed myself, and I still have 105 pages to go. Time for a break. :smokin:
I'm glad you are doing this :) It will help you reference people back to specific topic posted by post #xxxx etc. when the same questions come up over and again e.g. what is your soil mix or how did you mix your soil, what type of tea. Page number only works if everyone has the forum settings to the same post count per page e.g. I am on page 46 because I am set for 40 posts per page. Anyway, I thank you it will help everyone and you to gain access to good info without the need to repeat ;)

Sue, you need to sell a bagged over the counter soil and call it SueShine #1 :circle-of-love:

God, I love you k0ncept. :laughtwo::green_heart:

I was unaware until right now that the page settings were different. Duh! Good thing I took notice of post numbers then. My plan is to end the journal with a quick reference page, showing relevant links and posts. I wasn't expecting to be this popular and we have so much to learn and share. If I don't do this things get lost in the threads. Not my intention at all.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Haha - well we already know how I figured that out. I had to cull 4 beautiful plants that I thought for sure were female. Females take longer to show but the 7th node is the tell tale place - if you don't see pistols there, it's not a good thing. I'm sticking with Fems and autos for a while. It's a pretty big letdown to spend 60+ days growing to learn its a early chop!

Hey SS - hang in there with Dale my prayers for blood flow are with you both. I have a tear in my aorta (still there) so I'm pretty familiar with vascular surgeons. I had a crew of them standing over me all Dr House style telling me how "lucky" I am to be alive. So yeah you have that to build on. In my case the cure for me is 20-30% mortality rate.... take my intestines out to get to the problem and fix. Tratment worse than the illness. I'll pass on that and that's when we got serious and started growing meds. Cannabis helps with blood flow and vascular system in general so keep it green girl and pass a little on to Dale!! It's gonna help, it has to. Every day is a blessing, always remember that when life gets tough. You're still here, make the best of it everyday.

My auto girl is on day 30 I've just started to see flowers. You want to give your lady a little jump, try some coconut water if you haven't already.

Be REAL careful with the fulvic/humic acid (TM-7) stuff. It will stunt growth if you over do it. I used the label for application amount and it was way too much (Coots suggested as much about the label amt and I overlooked/forgot) . It was OK on the big girls but I have a few young ones that just stopped growing after I gave them some. They should be ready for the flower tent @ 15-18" but they look like Bonsai plants - 9-10nodes @ 6" tall maybe... not going to do it for yield. I may grow them out anyways just to see what happens....we will see. Right after I gave them the tea with fulvic acid I got yellowing leaves quick, not good. Glad I didn't drench all my young'ns. Now I'm super sensitive with the TM-7 stuff - its going on my outdoor garden ACTs for now until I get more comfortable with it.

SS - keep hangin in there, you're doing GREAT. Do the do and when you're tired and worn out and there's no light in the tunnel...keep on doin and look to the sun and the moon for strength and guidance.
I thought I would point to a couple of great Documentaries on Netflix streaming "f u FED UP Congress says pizza is a vegetable" and "Forks Over Knives" as well as "Forks Over Knives - The Extended Interviews" These movies have information that can make you drop your jaw about your health and the food you eat. It was life changing information for me  Just as the roots feed the plant nutrients so do our intestines :)

I'm still, taking notes at 12:55! :laughtwo: I can barely see at this point.

I think it's time to get me to bed.

Good night all.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

In older studies, classical music was best. In the late 70s, synthesized ambient music. In my house, it would be Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Blues, Classic Rock, or anything else where I like to sing along. If the person is happy with the music, the plants are happy with the music.

I don't know if I linked to that information here, or from an old Joe Rogan podcast.

Interesting. You would figure plants would love natural, occurring sounds rather than a sound a beat machine made or something. That's neat, though. I want to figure out how I can potentially get some nice nature sounds in the tent.

Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto - Day 37

I started out with the obligatory 1/4 turn to balance light access. She's starting to fill the space. Before long she'll be overhanging the edges.

Maybe there IS room for another plant off to one side? Reign it back Susan. :laughtwo:

I seem to remember my first plants going through a droopy stage too. I'll have to jump back in the archives and take a look. Of course it's early in the morning, right after lights on, so that may be all it is. We do love to obsess about them, don't we? All indications are this is one very happy plant. Let's just take a stroll through the tiny closet, shall we?

I had to include my foot in this one. SoilGirl, we miss you baby.

image24198.jpg

Today's measurement. From this point on I'll try to document that every day.

image24199.jpg

I'm about halfway through the room realignment now. It's much less dusty today. :laughtwo: I just have Dale's workbench to clear, move and set up again, before I can break out the tent, get it cleaned and up. Then it's a matter of getting everything back into place so I don't feel like I'm living in a storage locker. My living room is overflowing with things moved out of the bedroom to open the space for the tent. All of that stuff needs to be relocated or eliminated. Uuggghhh!!

Because we live in such tight quarters the tent is being located in front of a deep-storage closet. In order to be able to more easily access that storage I plan to purchase a half sheet of 3/4 plywood and mount sliders on the bottom. This should make it possible to slide the tent out of the way to get to the closet. Not that there's ever going to be lots of room in a space measuring 12x12' and containing a Queen-sized bed, a workbench, a dialysis cycler and a 4x4' tent, mind you. :laughtwo:

Have a wonderful day. Be sure to get some extra hugs in there. Shared joy is the best kind and everyone can use more hugs.

:Namaste:

I've always wondered how they would react to sounds of the forest or a rushing stream, or even a thunderstorm. Would it confuse them to hear a thunderstorm that they didn't experience other than sound? :laughtwo::green_heart:

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Who knows! Plants are super interesting. I know they have some type of effect on humans, I think it's naturally in us to just want to be around or near plant life. I definitely feel happier around plants, whether it be cannabis or in the woods!
