Great post. I spotted this in my soil once and I asked a bunch of questions and no one really knew what it was.
This pic was taken after transplanting. I noticed these:

I am guessing this is mycelium around some fertilizer pellets? Not exactly sure. I did not have any pest. No one could confirm that they where eggs.

Any thoughts?

Oh no, attack of the fungus! Looking good, I don't know what your fertilizer pellets are, but that looks like some good stuff.

One of my soil bins a while back.

My HB soil, right now. :laughtwo:

Wrong time of the day again for light.

I was adding some water to the LOS mix. I love everything about this soil - the textures when you hold it, the dank smell of good earth, the delightful visual presented by all that organic matter.

Two very different living soils. Variations on a theme. This is really going to be fun.

Now, if I can just get the time to clean that room and get the tent up.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

I did not know this BB. Reps for the share.

Haha - well we already know how I figured that out. I had to cull 4 beautiful plants that I thought for sure were female. Females take longer to show but the 7th node is the tell tale place - if you don't see pistols there, it's not a good thing. I'm sticking with Fems and autos for a while. It's a pretty big letdown to spend 60+ days growing to learn its a early chop!

Hey SS - hang in there with Dale my prayers for blood flow are with you both. I have a tear in my aorta (still there) so I'm pretty familiar with vascular surgeons. I had a crew of them standing over me all Dr House style telling me how "lucky" I am to be alive. So yeah you have that to build on. In my case the cure for me is 20-30% mortality rate.... take my intestines out to get to the problem and fix. Tratment worse than the illness. I'll pass on that and that's when we got serious and started growing meds. Cannabis helps with blood flow and vascular system in general so keep it green girl and pass a little on to Dale!! It's gonna help, it has to. Every day is a blessing, always remember that when life gets tough. You're still here, make the best of it everyday.

My auto girl is on day 30 I've just started to see flowers. You want to give your lady a little jump, try some coconut water if you haven't already.

Be REAL careful with the fulvic/humic acid (TM-7) stuff. It will stunt growth if you over do it. I used the label for application amount and it was way too much (Coots suggested as much about the label amt and I overlooked/forgot) . It was OK on the big girls but I have a few young ones that just stopped growing after I gave them some. They should be ready for the flower tent @ 15-18" but they look like Bonsai plants - 9-10nodes @ 6" tall maybe... not going to do it for yield. I may grow them out anyways just to see what happens....we will see. Right after I gave them the tea with fulvic acid I got yellowing leaves quick, not good. Glad I didn't drench all my young'ns. Now I'm super sensitive with the TM-7 stuff - its going on my outdoor garden ACTs for now until I get more comfortable with it.

SS - keep hangin in there, you're doing GREAT. Do the do and when you're tired and worn out and there's no light in the tunnel...keep on doin and look to the sun and the moon for strength and guidance.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

BB, thank you for the kind words of encouragement. It's really difficult at the moment to maintain optimism, so that was so well timed it shocked me. I'll take it as a sign of hope for the future. The choice is mine, after all, and my choice of attitude sets the stage, so optimism wins out again!

There, that feels more like me.

I become more and more convinced of the healing powers of cannabis every day. Once I get my tent up to speed for perpetual gardening I can begin to feed it to my family in a way that can effect healing. I'm convinced that edibles will be the way to go almost completely. Dale may choose to smoke out of appreciation of the act itself, but I know I would prefer edibles. The best I can do for him now is baked buds. Quick, low calorie and quite effective for long-term mood altering. It takes a lot of cannabis to keep him sane these days. I need to make another light a priority.

I went out and checked the instructions on the TM-7 and let me say for your plants - ouch! That's a mistake you won't make again, eh? And now, because you were brave enough to try it out BB, we know the end result of too heavy an application of this product. See? Turned that mistake into a science project by changing the perspective. :laughtwo::green_heart:

Tomorrow I'm doing breakfast with Dale again and then I'm coming right home and tackle the bedroom. With a concerted effort I may be able to knock the majority of it out in a day and get the furniture all rearranged, at the very least.

It's a huge job, and it's all on me. Wish me luck.

An absolutely fascinating read about how plants apparently communicate with each other. Evolving science. My thanks to DrZiggy for the link.

Man Sue your baby looks fantastic and has really taken off since my last visit. Keep up the good work.:goodjob:

Thanks neiko. I was just over at your thread admiring your own beauties. I can't wait to get more lighting so I can run four pots. Ha! Listen to me. I still have to get the room cleaned and the tent up! Arggggghhhhhh!!!

Today was supposed to be my day to clean. Life had other plans. We have discovered a small blood clot forming in his remaining leg. More fun. New adventures ahead. Crap!

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Good day Sweetsue, Sorry to hear about the latest with Dale.
Your little girl is coming along there eh. Wanted to touch on what you said a page ago about the chance ,plants com. with each other....what if they do? My present grow with three Desfran"s. will be in just two 26 gal. Rootbuilder pots. Know what that means....two will share the same space. What pot will yield more? I think i'l get some fun guessing goin on....I said guessing , not betting.:allgood: What ya think SS?:passitleft:

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

That will be interesting Duggan. I'm going to guess that your big yielded will be in the shared pot, but that second link from Ziggy that I shared here suggests that in the confined spaces of our tents and closets they are already communicating with each other, regardless of who shares space with whom.

But guessing, not betting, I'll take my chance with that shared pot. I think there's some special communication going on in a shared root space. I can't wait to try it out myself. I mean, look at what Ziggy's girls do.

Thanks for the concern. I'm feeling a bit shell-shocked, so you can imagine how Dale feels. I asked him if he can see himself going home and he answered correctly "Yes". I'll hold on to that. At this point though, he's deteriorated enough that he lacks the upper body strength to get up those stairs on his ass, so we have some challenges ahead. Today's the day the insurance company wants to stop paying for his care here. Another challenge to overcome. (Sigh).

I brought a nice, dense Bomb bud and the pipe. I have a "Do Not Disturb" sign for the door. We're making the best of it as we wait to see what the institutional response to the clot will be. Never a dull moment.

I'm having a tough time finding joy in this moment. Wait a moment ........ OK. He's still alive, we're still laughing at the absurdity of our present circumstances. I guess that's cause for joy. Yeah, it feels pretty joyful to still see a bit of humor behind those eyes.

God - what I'd do for a beach cabana and a qualified masseuse!

A fun little share for your viewing pleasure. I've become more vocal and active on BlueJay's No-till Gardening thread (another site) and he posted a couple pictures the other day that got my blood pounding in a serious way. He gave me permission to share them with you.

This pot is in its 13th consecutive cycle, using the techniques I've laid out and follow myself. The top soil in this pot is almost entirely made up of vermicompost. Think of how rich that layer is after three years of regular additions of enzyme teas, coconut/aloe drenches, fulvic and humic acids, neem and kelp. Not to mention the occasional varied tea to add just a bit of something else.

This one really got me excited. Look at that ecosystem! There's my future, staring us in the face.

image24127.jpg

Learned something new today. When you topdressing the no-till, grind up some malted barley grain at a rate of 1/4 cup per 20 gallon pot or 1/2 cup per 45 gallon pot and mix it with the vermicompost.

That malted barley grain is multi-functional in a no-till. Add it to the worm bin, add it to the soil mix, add it to the top dressing and then drench it into the soil as a tea. Can't get enough of the stuff. Just stop for a moment and consider what the worms will do to enhance it. Gives me goosebumps. :laughtwo::green_heart:

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Clackamas Cootz on adding malted barley grain to your worm bin.

"Malted Barley Grain - Application Rates

Since I have a vertical flow-thru designed by Dan Holcomb that Chunk built for himself and me, I'll use that surface area and volume and you can adjust to your situation accordingly.

This bin has a surface area of 12 s.f. (3' x 4' ) so 3 cups every 7 - 10 days would be beneficial to make more actual food available to the bacteria (mainly) which means more bacteria exudes (manure) for the worms to ingest and convert to castings. The main enzymes involved in the deconstruction of your feed stock would be protease, urease, amylase (both a & b if you're using barley grain specifically) and phosphatase.

When mixing potting soils and assuming that you're going to hydrate the soil and let it sit for a week and probably longer (no opinion on my end of things), then 1 cup to 1 c.f. of mixed soil would be a good place to start. If you are going to let it age for several weeks then you could double that amount without any concerns."

You mean you can plant and amend, keep reusing, chop and replant next to it? Like a garden? Craziness.

I know. Who'd have thought? :laughtwo::green_heart:

Such a simple concept: build a better soil, continuously amend it, add lights and good water and watch your soil grow amazing plants for you.

Today I'm studying BlueJay's revised watering schedule and top dressing recipe. How to grow even better cannabis. Inspirational stuff.
