Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -
We call ourselves "organic gardeners". We obviously come from a range of soil mixes and gardening approaches, but the one fundamental belief that ties us all together is that it is wise to let the very earthlings that have evolved to "garden" this planet grow our valued medications for us. The soil food web (SFW, for those enamored with such abbreviations) is a magnificent and vibrant community that is quite capable, given the available resources, of supplying plants with usable nutrients. Our job then becomes maintenance of the environment, supplementation of the building blocks the plants will be asking the soil food web for, and love - the secret ingredient.
I came here with mostly love and very limited knowledge. What a joy it is to be surrounded by so much curiosity and genius, so willing to engage in the sharing of what they have seen and learned already. My brain is soaking it up as fast as it can. I take that responsibility to watch over these little earthlings seriously. I think of my little pot communities as pets, so I'm always asking myself
"What can I do to help the soil grow even stronger?"
So much to learn.
Daily Update: Dark Devil Auto - Day 24
From this point on it becomes a race to the finish. Look how much she's grown overnight.
A nice close up to show the growth going on here. Oh yeah!!
Well..... This is sobering.
New traps in place. Tomorrow morning I'll do a light top spray to activate the larva-eating bacteria and wash the limestone dust in. I keep forgetting to do that.
I've been thinking that I need to develop a plan for seed choices for the tent expansion.
My tent! O happy day! My brother just called to tell me I have a large package waiting at the bottom of our 40 stairs. WooHoo!!!
Oh my goodness, could I be any more excited?????
Back to the update.
I'll be adding a larger pot for the Kit soil - still wavering between 15 and 20 gallon. That one will be planted with African Buzz, a sweet 100% Sativa with the kind of cerebral high I'm seeking. Just jump right in there Susan.
I already have this pot planted. My darling Devil will have it to herself (the living mulch once again says "Say What? Alone??" LOL).
This second pot will be my experiment in adding two tiered plantings in LOS. I've decided to go with Cheese Candy (Dale asked for something with a candy taste) and a random bag seed from our New Year's celebration that I shall name Wicked Bag Seed.
I have a plan! Four plants total in the tent, leaving plenty of space for youngsters. A new way of gardening for me, this starting seeds in smaller pots and transplanting. I'm sure I can get the hang of it.
- African Buzz in the largest pot.
- Dark Devil Auto in the LOS 7 gallon.
- Cheese Candy (fem) and Wicked Bag Seed tiered in the other LOS 7 gallon.
A stately sativa, an auto, an Indica-dominant feminized and a mystery seed. I like that list. Lots of variety means lots to experience. So thankful to be growing in such good soil. That will make my work much easier. I need to set up a notebook to document from day one of operation. I started this journaling process thinking it would easy to track the grow this way. I wasn't anticipating this becoming such an active group, but when you gather this many passionate gardeners together we end up having some wonderful discussions about soil and organic gardening, don't we? It makes it challenging to follow the grow itself though, after you pass 100 pages, and we're past that on day 24 of the Devil's life. I'll put some thought to making things easier to access.
Now to get the bedroom cleared and set up anew.
One last shot before we go. So pretty in pink.
Have a wonderful day everyone. You can tell mine is overflowing with childish joy already. Try to outdo me. It'll be a challenge, but I have faith in you.
