Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL - LED

Sue: Try dried sugar leaves with honey as a warm tea in the evening.

Thank you. I have some in a jar. I knew I saved them for something.

It's midnight. I've been visiting journals now for over four hours and haven't stopped yet to even take a hit. Let me rectify that.

This end of a Bomb bud should do it. Be right back.

These dense tips remind me of tiny trees. Consider this Christmas gift: a miniature diorama of a Christmas tree lot with LED light strings, picket fencing, snow, people, and an inventory of trees that were actually the trimmed, dried and cured tops of colas harvested over the previous year.

The holiday season could be flavored with the memories of the year's grows. A different sampling, by whim or design, of the finest available. Who wouldn't want that? I can do that. We actually did a lot like that last Christmas. I'll dig the photos out and off-topic post them.

Cute little tree, isn't it? Sweet buzz, baby. Whew! Took a while to type this. :laughtwo::green_heart:

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

That little tree looks tasty :) How long have you had your first grown curing now for?

Buddha came down on Feb. 25th, the Bomb on March 1st. There. It's posted and I can bookmark it somehow. You wouldn't believe how hard that is to remember for me! I must be seriously distracted.

Looking back through the gallery uploads to find the dates walked me through my first harvest - lovely dancing Buddha. Perfect morning, perfect timing. Fabulous natural lighting filling the apartment, like a celebration. Pressed for time to get to the nursing home (it was Dale's second day there - scary times!) I made myself take the time to relish it so I could share it in a way that showed respect for her life and sacrifice. Good memories, preserved here by the generous people of :420:

Buddha was jarred by Feb 28, the Bomb by March 8, so they've been curing now for 4-5 weeks. The Bomb has a wonderful flavor and perfume of chamomile. The longer she cures the smoother the smoke. She hits harder now too. No complaints from me. :laughtwo:

Buddha was made for me. Uplifting, joyful, attentive and spiritual. It's been interesting learning so much about myself. Good thing I have a healthy sense of humor. I do a lot of crying on buses. Pretty unabashed about it too. This crap is painful! Deal with it.

Sorry. Slipped there.

Anyway, a great harvest. A fun first grow by all standards. This prompted a sweet walk down memory lane. Thanks for asking Night. :thanks:

I'm sure glad you guys put up with my wordiness. :laughtwo:

Sue,

You crack me up, the Good Sweet Sue. Your hours into journals, like a good grower, and I am hours into a stock market model that holds 1.6 gigs of data that tracks 4000+ stocks by 38 daily factors through time.

I just got an embedded feature of the model to work and finally display the data in a view I can easily assimilate, Even "Rainman" needs some math visualization help.

Tonight was the night it works now, and why it didn't/does works makes sense. I am giggling like a kid, staring at one row of data after another. The odd thing, it ALL makes sense now.

Tell me about it. I used to have employees with MBA or CPA's spend hours/days/weeks building a small modular solution for me on this topic, and today the whole thing works automated.

I can watch the US stock markets breath via data flows now. Its like having something take 90% of your effort to just DO, and now its 5% and you can just hit a couple of internal buttons and it gives you real time updates and then sit back and :volcano-smiley: and act on the knowledge.

A friend and I discussing it tonight. It doesn't make me smarter, but like a chef with a full knife set, I am a hell of a lot more efficient while not working hard.

The above link is to the new journal atrain has started in preparation to switching from a bottled nutrient approach to Living Organic Soil. You all remember atrain? March POTM? The baddest, most impressive, don't-I-wish-I'D-grown-that plant on our forum last month?

The man who showed us without question that light is the machine that drives the grow, now wants to provide his wife with the cleanest, purest and most potent medications he can grow, and his choice of mediums is LOS. He has requested our assistance. atrain is serious about this transition and has embraced the quest for knowledge. Anyone with knowledge or curiosity about starting organic from the ground up, please feel free to stop and toss your two cents in.

This is what :420: is known for. Let's help another grower succeed and help make the planet a better place. One grow at a time.

Thanks for the help guys. :green_heart:

Sweetsue, Jamba is trying SWICK and he's jamming!.
Can you use clay litter in a SWICK?

Ziggy, Clay holds water. That's why they use it in litter. You want the SWICK to wick water. Perlite is preferred. Lava rock works well too.

Re: Sweetsue's Tiny Closet - Second Grow - Sweet Dark Devil & Bomb Berry Bomb - CFL -

Sweetsue, a couple of SWICK questions, if I may. I am going to try SWICK on a couple of my plants in HB soil and Docs kit drenches.
i am going to use the azalea pots. How much wider should the dish or SWICK container be than the pot bottom?
How deep, or how far up should I bury the bottom of the pot into perlite or lava rock? TY :)

What excellent timing DrZiggy. Post that on my new thread and we'll kick into high gear.

I'm on my way to the hospital, so it will be a few before I can answer. I'm getting pretty good at working on the bus. :laughtwo::green_heart:

daily Update: Dark Devil Auto - Day 16

A busy morning. Let's begin with some shots of our lovely little Devil.

I love this shot. The piece of old stem off to the right that's splitting, and the old rooted stem rotting away ..... Gives me goosebumps. :laughtwo:

image22821.jpg

Isn't she absolutely lovely?

image22822.jpg

So, let's do some pest management. These fungus gnats - I've been trying to come to peaceful terms with these little earthlings. My hope is to create a soil base so healthy that gnats won't be drawn in. I'm not absolutely certain that complete eradication can be achieved while maintaining a layer of decomposing mulch, but it's worth a try to get the population size under control.

The living mulch is a bit out of control right now. Time to trim it back.

image22823.jpg

All trimmed and ready to begin.

image22824.jpg

On Doc Bud's suggestion I purchased this bag of Calcium Carbonate. I'm going to sprinkle it across the soil surface, beneath the mulch.

image22830.jpg

The first thing I need to do is gently move that mulch out of the way. This is more easily accomplished by moving half and piling it up on the other side of the pot. Then sprinkle the powder around.

image22831.jpg

Repeat that process on the other side.

image22832.jpg

Now all the mulch is back in place and it's time to water the rock dust in. I was pretty liberal with the watering today. I knew I wasn't going to top off the reservoirs until tomorrow, so they each probably got about two cups, sprayed in a fine but swift stream using my Chapin garden sprayer. I'll do this every couple days from now on.

image22833.jpg

There's our little darling.

image22828.jpg

My packages were from BAS, containing my Worm Power vermicompost, pumice and package of TM-7. Now I can begin building my LOS, as soon as time permits. That will probably be tomorrow or Thursday. I need to give thought to how much I want to build. I'm thinking of a 25-45 gallon pot, should I be able to expand. I'll know more about that next week.

image22834.jpg

On with my day. I'll be proudly representing the :420: community today. After all, isn't that part of the expectation of being elected MOTM?

image22835.jpg

May you all have a day filled with joy and laughter. Make it happen. It's always worth the effort. :laughtwo::green_heart:
